Steve wrote this song about his visit to Lake Tahoe. Before he joined Journey. This is my favorite Journey song. Evolution is my second favorite Journey album. Second to Infinity. I love both albums almost equally. Not a single bad tune on either album. IMHO. Winds of March should be your next reaction. That song has everything single thing in it…why I love Journey. Journey On.

Well when you say there is nothing after this reality, you half to have evidence for said claim, otherwise you have no backup for it, meaning it would be a strawman and a logical fallacy.

I love this one, it does make you think. When my guy knew his cancer was terminal he did start clearing out some of his things. I do appreciate that because you know how hard it is as well as I do. 3 months after he passed, on my birthday, I donated many of his things to people that needed it. I gave a few things to people important in his life. Then I kept a few tees and his house robe, it’s over sized and I’m currently wearing it. There was things on his nightstand I left for a year .. as far as me, I moved last year and I said goodbye to many things I held onto for so many years. A scrap book from my teen years, a diary I wrote in for I guess 15 years. So many other things, clothes etc. it made me reevaluate myself and what I’m leaving behind for others to deal with. This is one of those songs I can't bring myself to listen to without some major mental preparation, because it makes me want to break down and sob! I think Tyler's just over a year younger than I am, and I definitely think an awful lot about what I might leave behind one day, both in terms of physical stuff and memories. It's easy to get lost in the loop, of wondering if you've done enough, and it takes a lot to break yourself out of it... Scaled and Icy really is such an underrated album, that deserves way more love than it gets. If you'd like to stay on the Scaled and Icy train, i'd highly recommend checking out the track before this one, "No Chances", as well as "The Outside". They're two of my favorites!

First, notice the lyrics, :scaled back and isolated," = Scaled and Icy, the album name. The dragon, from the album cover is named Trash, and, as Tyler noted in an interview, a trash Dragon is another name for a vulture, a major symbol of death and turning death to life. Secondly, this song cuts me deep. The contemplation of suicide, and the pain that gets left behind, is heartbreaking. I speak from experience. Suicide doesn't end pain, it just passes it on to everyone else.

Thanks for the great review again Ron. You know Andrei has been my favorite guitarist since he first came on the scene years ago, basically an unknown. I knew he was going to the top. He was still in high school 😂. This song has always been special to me. Giulia Falcone did a cover of it too with a young man from France who played keyboards, and it was a nice cover too. Giulia’s the only voice that even comes close to Emily’s for me, and that’s saying something. Sofy was explosive here though, and her passion jumps off the screen at you. She was in Shut Up & Kiss Me for a few songs too. Next list I’ll send you a couple others with her in them.

Peter Hollens is a quite incredible singer. He has a sucessful music channel for videos. He either multitracks himself extensively or collaborates with other artists like Home Free or the Hound& Fox. He has done several albums with Tim Foust. Their Misty Mountains together is equally popular as that of Geoff Castelluccis. Geoff has guested one of Peters Christmas videos. His whole family, wife, kids sings too. Peter is known as a master of layering his voice. Stevie T = Steve Terryberry. I often watch his videos. His guitarwork is impressive and he is often very funny. Recommend his videos 'How To Be Country' or 'How To Be Metallica' for a good laugh and also penetrating portait of their kind of music. Good satire.

The intro to this song is inspired by the Baywatch theme, hence Pamela Anderson being part of the team, in the credits 🤣 Jonah’s high notes - and that incredible feel good vibe 🫶 All of these musicians are stellar, every single one. And to think that these two bands hadn’t even met at the time of making this album, weren’t able to work on it and record it together, but instead pulling all of this off from two opposite sides of the globe, makes this collaboration even more mindboggling! Check out the rest of this album. All the 7 tracks are on fire!! Three more with videos attached to them, and you’ve seen Thriller already. So maybe a reaction to the two remaining ones, ‘Turbo’ and ‘Ring Of Saturn’ would be cool 👍 Meanwhile, Dirty Loops are dropping a new tune this Friday, Oct 4!! Hi Ron, it's Mick in the UK. Thank you for reacting to Emily's cover of Time Waits For Nobody, and thank you Brad for suggesting it. Well this one is an original Freddie solo and is from Time The Musical from 1986, which was produced by Dave Clark of The Dave Clark Five fame. The song was originally just called Time because it was the title song of the musical. Dave Clark asked Freddie to be in the musical, but he declined saying "Darling, I put everything into a song when I perform it, but I couldn't perform it night after night in a musical." Freddie did perform another song in the musical called In My Defence. Time The Musical was ahead of its time (no pun intended) and was the first musical to use holograms, one of which was the last performance of Sir Laurence Olivier. Dave Clark and Freddie remained friends for life and was the only person at his bedside when Freddie passed away. Emily was only twelve when she recorded Time Waits For Nobody, but I wouldn't be surprised if Freddie is looking down on her thinking " Go girl, you've got it." Hello Ron. "Sparkly dress and sparkly vocal" - I like that. What an absolutely adorable young lady. It's uncanny how such a powerful vocal could be delivered by one so young. You're so right about how Emily was holding some of those notes. The piano work was, again, so good for one so young & the smile at the end was just enchanting. Good morning Ron, this was a song and video (Freddie’s version) that was dug up decades after he died. Freddie had made the video for a project that never took off, and the director or producer that was doing it packed away everything, and then stumbled upon this years later. Em is a huge Freddie fan, and did her cover very shortly after his version was published. I’ll let Mick know this is here. I’m positive he will have all the details.😊 he is a living encyclopedia of music history, especially Emily’s.

Dirty Loops and Snarky Puppy are the only 2 bands I can enjoy on perpetual replay. They're wonderful. I love the playfulness of their compositions.

Nice guitar playing 👍. This is someone else that I've not heard of before. Years ago, I tried to play the guitar, but gave up on it and stuck with playing the piano. I was never a fan of the Beatles during their hey day or since, and tend to avoid listening (the same as I do for any other well known group/singer that I'm not a fan of, or have over the years heard them to death, and no longer want to listen to their songs ever again e.g. Abba)to any of their songs even if they are renditions by other performers. I guess that we can all be very selective in what music that we love to listen to.

Only funny thing in the credits in this one is probably at the end: "Outro music by David Hasselhoff & David Foster. Looped by Skrillex and mastered by Pamela Andersen" 🙂I love how Aron put Grace Kellys (the sax players) reaction to Henriks solo into the video.

yep the master of voices

First time that I've heard Randy Janee. Definitely, not an easy song to sing. Randy did a good rendition, but there are parts in the song where her diction does require improvement. I'll have to check out what else she sings.

I can absolutely understand why you were a bit concerned when you approached this cover-especially since it’s Wuthering Heights, one of the most iconic and challenging songs out there. But wow, Randy Janee is incredibly talented! She hit the high notes with so much grace and precision. I enjoyed every second, and I think she added a unique magic to the song that beautifully captures the spirit of the original.
