Three Men and a Cradle (French: Trois hommes et un couffin) is a 1985 French comedy film by Coline Serreau. The film was remade in Hollywood as Three Men and a Baby in 1987 which was subsequently remade into seven movies in six languages.
The scene @ 30 min where they're all singing 'Goodnight, Sweetheart' a capella was an instant classic even when this first came out. What a fun thing to remember after all of these years!
@@ForceMaximus84I'll definitely look for it. Told my son (19) to look for him on a "Before They Were Famous" type video once, but he got stuck on Vanna White on The Price Is Right and forgot all about my request 😂😂
Cassie for every time there's been conflict between characters in a movie and you've said "Why can't they just all hug and tell each other how they feel and work it out and be friends????" Finally here is your movie! lol
I took care of my grandpa the last few years of his life (98-100), and at some point I wanted to sing him a song when he went to bed, but it felt weird to sing him a lullaby. I remembered this movie from my childhood, and sang "Goodnight Sweetheart." It turned into a nightly thing, and now I can't hear that song without thinking of him. Fortunately it's a sweet memory, not a sad one. PS. Margaret Colin is the actress' name but I get why they might confuse her with the actress who played Rizzo in Grease as Margaret looks very similar to Stockard Channing. Elizabeth Perkins, who was in Big among other films, also looks similar to the previous 2 ladies. Allison Janey also looks similar to these women but maybe a bit taller at 6 foot. She was on NBC's West Wing with Martin Sheen and CBS' Mom with Anna Faris.
Just looked that up - she was in like father like son which is one popcorn in bed would get an absolute kick out of. She was in pretty in pink as a teacher also then 3 men
3 Men and a Baby was one of those movies that was on cable everyday when I was a kid. One of those fil s that my younger sister and I watched over and over. It's a guilty pleasure film for sure and it'll always make me smile.
This was quite the grouping of talent for this movie: - Tom Selleck (Peter) - Known for playing the original Thomas Magnum on Magnum P.I.; had film roles in High Road to China (1982) and Runaway (1984). He would later be known for playing Richard on Friends, and Commissioner Reagan on Blue Bloods. - Steve Guttenberg (Michael) - Known for roles in Diner, Short Circuit, Cocoon, and the first four Police Academy movies. - Ted Danson (Jack) - Known for playing Sam "Mayday" Malone on Cheers; also appeared in the final seasons of C.S.I.- Crime Scene Investigation - Leonard Nimoy (Director) - Had just come off directing the past two Star Trek movies (Search for Spock & Voyage Home), and also provided the voice for Galvatron in Transformers: The Movie (1986). With this film, he proved he could direct other types of movies beside science-fiction. After this film, he directed The Good Mother (1988) with Diane Keaton, Funny About Love (1990) with Gene Wilder, and Holy Matrimony (1994). And it’s because he was directing Funny About Love, he was unavailable to direct the sequel; Three Men and a Little Lady (1990).
Another of Tom Selleck's notable films was "Runaway" (1984), a sci-fi thriller written by Michael Crichton ("Jurassic Park") also starring Kirstie Alley ("Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan") and Gene Simmons (bassist from the rock group KISS) about household robots that suddenly go haywire and become killing machines.

Tom Selleck (the one with the moustache) was the original choice to play Indiana Jones. He filmed a successful screentest for the role, but later discovered he was unable to get out of an existing tv contract he had signed, so the part went to Harrison Ford instead.
Tom Selleck is probably best known today as Commissioner Reagan on Blue Bloods - but I think my favorite Tom Selleck role was in Quigley Down Under (which also has Alan Rickman).
I have been saying that in Super Chats and comments and live streams for the past two years now. That and Mannequin would be great movies for them to see. I just feel like nothing gets to her eyeballs unless your a Patron.

24:08 There's an infamous myth that supposedly you can see a ghostly boy by the window in this scene. In reality, it's just a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson.
I remember rewinding and rewatching so many times to so I could see it. It is goosebumpiness for sure though it doesn't seem to fit that it is cardboard though no matter what they say. It still is weird though. Lol
@@drgldy76 they actually caught the carboard cutout in the review at 23:34 you can see it on the bed when Jack puts Mary down, it is in the movie two more times including the window scene.
The tall guy who comes to pick up the "package" with the smaller guy is Earl Hindman who got famous for not showing his face on the hit show Home Improvement as the character Wilson. He was also in the 70's crime thriller The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.
Tom Selleck, the one with the mustache, also starred in a great western(?) called "Quigley Down Under" and has a very minor role in the good mystery thriller movie, "Coma."
Had to watch a 2nd time this reaction was that good. It's also amazing to me how much respect these 3 guys have for each other, like when Michael and Peter want so badly for Jack to fight for Mary, but understand its not their place and wait for him to come to the decision himself. That's a rare friendship.
I am sure someone already said this here, but you guys need to react to the sequel, which came out in 1990 I believe and is called "Three Men and a Little Lady". These guys are quickly getting older, (Tom Selleck just turned 79 years old), but there has been talk for years about getting them together to make a third installment, where Mary is a grown woman, possibly with children of her own... That would be cool, but let's see if they do it.
This was my favorite movie of all time as a kid. I had an old VHS that got completely warn out because of how often I watched it. I called it “the baby movie”. So it was a complete surprise to me, when I watched it as an adult, that it’s about drugs.
Let's not forget that Tom Selleck was the original cast Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You should check out High Road to China, just on principle. Her Alibi on fallback.
Jack's mother was played by one of my favourite character actors Celeste Holm who appeared in some classic movies of the 40's and 50's including A letter to three wives, The Snake pit, All about Eve and High Society.
Steve Guttenberg starred in “Cocoon,” directed by Ron Howard, and co-starring some major movie stars from years past, as well as the memorable sheriff from First Blood. It’s a lot more of a feel-good movie, though. I think you’d both like it a lot.
Cocoon was the first Dennehy movie I watched so I never had the notion he also played bad guys. Rambo showed me his range when I saw it many years later.
I think there's some mad licensing reason why Cocoon is really hard to find anywhere, or something. But if they can get a hold of it, it would be an excellent reaction.
The character of Rebecca, whom you considered had the part of Rizzo in "Grease," is Margaret Colin. Colin was in the film "Independence Day." She had the role of being a White House staffer and the love interest of Jeff Goldblum. Colin had many roles in a multitude of TV series. The character of Rizzo was Stockard Channing.
Watch Quigley Down Under (or old episodes of Magnum P.I.) for Tom Selleck.......Police Academy for Steve Guttenberg......and old episodes of Cheers for Ted Danson. 😁 You should also watch Three Men and a Little Lady, which is the sequel to this one.
I never realised that Spock himself directed this movie. Also, I rewatched this movie recently, and I'd totally forgotten about the subplot with the drug smugglers, which seems to come from a different film altogether. In fact, the movie finishes this plot half an hour from the end.
I always think there was a "who's the daddy?" plot to this movie where it could have been any one of the three of them, when in fact there's no doubt at all right from the start. I must have seen it 20 times and I'm still always surprised when I realise that.
The 80s were like that. Romancing The Stone, Cloak & Dagger, Twins, Crocodile Dundee 2, Kindergarten Cop, all silly comedies that for some reason needed coke smugglers & assassins added in.
I just knew that with it being a baby involved you two were gonna kill us with sweetness and cuteness, and boy was I right. Such an adorable reaction, you two are just too awesome.
This might be the Cassie-est movie to ever come across Cassie's desk. Must've seen this like 25 times between age 4 to 8. One of the very first movies I remember seeing.
There was an urban myth when this was released on video that a "ghost boy" appears in a window during the movie. It turns out it was just a cardboard cut out of the Ted Danson character, but it possibly helped make this one of the best selling video tapes of all time.
Grew up on this one. Guys having to be household dads was still kind of played for jokes back then, but I think this movie's popularity had a huge effect on erasing the stigma. And "Daddy's Girl" (by Peter Cetera?) is one of my all-time favorite 80s montages.
Rizzo in the movie Grease was played by Stockard Channing who also had roles in The West Wing, Six Degrees of Seperation and Practical Magic plus many more movie and TV roles including The Stockard Channing Show a 1980 sitcom. Margaret Colin played Rebecca in 3 Men And A Baby. She's also been played many roles in a lot of movies and atC shows. You may remember her from Independence Day, Pretty In Pink, Law And Order SVU, Law And Order CI or Gossip Girl.
More Tom Selleck (Peter)? Well, there's a sequel to this film called Three Men and a Little Lady, there's an excellent western called Quigley Down Under, a 1930s heist movie called Lassiter, an underrated gritty thriller called An Innocent Man, and a cool Sci Fi film directed by Michael Crichton (who wrote Jurassic Park) called Runaway. I think you'd enjoy all of them (though Carly might want to sit out An Innocent Man).
My sister and I saw this movie in the theater. I remember the reaction when Michael and Peter opened the first 'doodle' diaper. The whole audience leaned back and laughed their heads off.
omg now you guys *have* to see the sequel "Three Men and a Little Lady". it's sooo good! thanks for always putting out great reaction content that makes me feel like I'm watching some of my favorite movies for the first time 😃

Watch Quigley Down Under (or old episodes of Magnum P.I.) for Tom Selleck.......Police Academy for Steve Guttenberg......and old episodes of Cheers for Ted Danson. 😁
You should also watch Three Men and a Little Lady, which is the sequel to this one.
This movie is a remake of a French film, the translation from the French language is called 3 men and a crèche.
Spock didn't direct the film. Leonard NIMOY did.
Not "crèche". "Couffin".@@ASchwa29
I hope you get around to watching Quigley Down Under, it's a great western with Tom Selleck and the late great Alan Rickman.
I just knew that with it being a baby involved you two were gonna kill us with sweetness and cuteness, and boy was I right. Such an adorable reaction, you two are just too awesome.
Women love men with babies.
Just in time for the sequel to hit theaters lol!
The cardboard cutout is clearly seen in the scene where Jack is first given Mary to care for, and he puts her on the bed. Seen at 23:34
Brilliant marketing scheme
And the “most paused” scene!!!
Yes please please please follow up with Three Men & a Little Lady...the tenderness continues 🥰
I love both but i feel like the second one has more depth and better acted.
I strongly recommend Short Circuit it has Steve Guttenburg(Michael) in it.
And Cocoon, also with Steve.
Oh boy, Cassie is going to burst with cuteness overload, lol
If you liked this, you would love "Her Alibi" with Tom Selleck!
If you haven't done it already, another 80s wholesome family film is 'Look who's Talking'. I think you'd both really enjoy it.
You HAVE to watch the delightful sequel! Three Men & A Little Lady!!!
My sister and I saw this movie in the theater. I remember the reaction when Michael and Peter opened the first 'doodle' diaper. The whole audience leaned back and laughed their heads off.
That would've been awesome to be a part of!
Thanks so much for this one. I'd forgotten how much I loved this movie, but then it was 37 YEARS AGO when I saw it!!!
For whatever reason, I would watch the VHS of this on repeat from age 6-8 lol
I'm going to add another 80's movie "Working Girl" from 1988. It's got Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver. Think you will like it
@ericneumann935 Great suggestion! I love that movie.
Yeah and the actor who played the detective is also in Working Girl.
the role of Mary was played by Lisa and Michelle Blair, now 36 years old.
They say if you want to see how fast time goes by, watch a child grow up.
The sequel is also good, “Three Men and a Little Lady”
"Leroy Nemon" had me in stitches!!! XD
omg now you guys *have* to see the sequel "Three Men and a Little Lady". it's sooo good! thanks for always putting out great reaction content that makes me feel like I'm watching some of my favorite movies for the first time 😃
The sequel, three men and a little lady is an absolute MUST.
I love Leeroy Nimon ❤
Somewhere Sheldon Cooper is screaming in rage.
Congratulations on your 500th video uploaded to the channel!
You two should react to a 1985 Sci-Fi/Fantasy movie staring Steve Guttenberg called Cocoon or Steve Guttenberg in Police Academy.
This is such a perfect companion film to Crocodile Dundee. I know they will love it.
They still need to see Crocodile Dundee 2. It's as good if not better than the first!
They both have good sequels too.
You HAVE to watch “Three Men And A Little Lady” now! You two will love it.
