I liked your idear using a mini screwdriver to apply the few drops of Super Glue on the one piece but you were lacking one. Important step! I was taught to Coat Both Sides! 😗
Sorry. I disagree. I work with super glue on a daily basis and that repair job will last until it's bumped or come apart with a bit of flexing or even some vibration. This repair work is a basic plastic repair job that would be good enough for a child's toy. This repair job is strictly temporary at best!
