If you're still out there, ... I wonder about your microphone placement? It seems like it's so close to the driver that the full dispersion effects of the outer horn are not captured. Appreciate any explanation you might offer.
I have a pair of Radian compression drivers 3 inch diameter. I get between 5-6 ohms across the terminals. Is that a proper way to test if they are blown? Neither makes sound but my boxes might have other issues. Thanks
does phasing matter on horn? I ask because I have a tri-amped system using old JBL woofer, horn, tweeter and some have been reconed so I'm not sure if red(+) is accurate on all three components - and while you can see which way a woofer moves when you put 9v battery to the terminals, you can't do that (or at least I don't know how too,) on a compression horn and compression tweeter
high-pass filter, here are options: 1.) electronic crossover built in to the amplifier 2.) rather than using the single capacitor (6dB/octave, 1st order filter), wired in series with driver, add an inductor, wired in parallel with driver. There are free online calculator to determine the value. (measured in mH) the value of the coil determines what frequency it'll start rolling off
very good video, you can pass me the measurements of the horn I have a B&C de 120 and I would like to try this horn. Thank you very much ...... Greetings from Argentina
DE250 is the benchmark for 1" compression drivers. Lower priced alternatives are the Selenium D220ti and PRV D280ti, both of which I slightly prefer.
of course, if you were to use the modified one you would want to make sure there was a devider in the enclosure so its separate from the base driver.

I love my De250's with the Iwatta Horns !
B&C makes some good stuff!
Did you use the dats as an amplifier to use with rew?

Should read 6.4-6.6 ohm. that's the normal impedance

Yes, it really matters. You can test if you can measure the frequency response. Check out how here…

Very informative. Can I use this wood horn to measure most of the compression drivers?
Sir can you tell me how to I protect my tweeter because capacitor is only bass block but tweeter can also burn in high pass

@@csj9619 thanks you sir
De250 have very good eff.
With emery paper, rub the inside of the kapton former, until it's thin enough.
you'll get better response.
How did I not think of that? brilliant yet simple solution. good job
@@csj9619 But don't damage the coil. when you arrive at the coil, stop rubbing

Sorry I dint have this measurement available anymore as I’ve misplaced the files.
How is DE400 similar to DE250? Just the voice coil diameter?
The voice coil and throat diameter.
@@JosephCrowesDIYSpeakerBuilding but the frequency response is not similar
The DE120 has a 1.4" VC.
Ah you got me!
No. 1.7"
Why don't you use beyma driver ??
so in conclusion for high freq which is best?
DE250
you sound almost like Technology Connections owo
