Speaking as a RaceChip user I can confirm what you're saying. The price/performace is amazing as well as reliability so far (using It for about three months). The only thing to consider buying the RaceChip is that you are aware not to modify your car further... the car needs to stay stock in terms of performance. If you are looking for easy tune to get more HP, N/m I cannot recommend It more!

There's a lot of people who are saying that Racechip is bollocks and it doesn't work at all. "You should get your car remapped properly" they say. Well, if you want to have the absolute maximum performance out of your turbocharged car, that is the truth. BUT - if you want to have some extra performance and keep your factory warranty, Racechip is the one to go with.
Had Racechip on my Leon Cupra 4drive, and it really made a difference to the performance. As stock 0-100 was 4,88s (gps measured), but with Racechip GTS on map 7 the 0-100 was 4,38s. That's a big difference. Also 100-200 as stock was 13,8s, but with Racechip 11,8s and the quarter mile came up as 12,2s. Not bad at all!

You should do a comparison between all 330's G20/21, since they are so common choice. 330i, 330e and 330d in one video, make it happen! :)
What I noticed in my 330e is that it recharges very quickly when driving in xtra boost.
So no need to worry about hitting rockbottom on your battery. It does drain more fuel to charge it though.
Also, the battery doesn't ever hit 0, it always has some reserve for when it's needed.
Yeah I was going to say, I bought one at the end of May and I drove it all the way from the UK to Romania and back, going though France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Hungary (already did 8000 miles) and I only had it once where I didn't have the electric boost, on an edge case I would say. There was an accident on the motorway, already starting with low battery in bumper to bumper traffic, the car decided to use all its battery during that crawl. After the traffic cleared up, I pressed the acceleration all the way, and it was slow, but 30 seconds later I accelerated again, and it gave me boost. This was in the normal hybrid mode, on the Autobahn in Germany I kept it in XtraBoost, doing pedal to the floor -> break -> pedal to the floor -> break. Never ran out of boost.
Also top speed on a sedan was 149 Mph (240 Kph) on the speedo, and 148 Mph GPS.
I noticed the same, when the gearbox is in S mode (either in Hybrid or Sport mode), it recharges the battery up to ~25%; I believe BMW did this so the boost gets readily available in that mode as often as possible. Keep in mind though the car weighs ~200kg more than a "normal" 330i, it shows in the driving dynamics (and even with the M Packages, at least here in Canada, it ships with standard suspension)
@@jpleveille in UK M sport ships with standard suspension too. I come from a F20 1 series, and you do notice the extra weight, but it’s still a fun car to drive. And given I managed 34 miles on electric on a not hot/not cold day, I’m really happy with that. For me it’s about half the price per mile on electric, even with electricity going up and petrol going down in price.
A C300e has a much better Hybrid drivetrain. It does 110km only on the battery

Now this is actually a sporty family station to take the kids to school with. I think an M3 Touring for example is too sporty for most people, not to mention the price, whereas this is the perfect balance between fun and practicality!
I dont think "most" people even cant afford an M3 let alone with maybe 2-3 kids in the family. Insurance, tax, gas prices etc. Then u need somewhere u can park it which means a decent house with garage. U could make ur whole family real disapointed and live in a crappy apartment but u get to drive an M3. If u ask me, i rather have a damn nice house than a damn nice car 😂 On the serious note, I have 330e and if u go stage 1 with a proper remap, u get M340i performance with half the fuel consumption of an M340i. What u dont get is the other aspects that makes an M340i an M340i, but thats a decent compromise imo.

@@alexanderdeprez5236 I've heard they still have problems cracking the ECU on the 2020 models after July month. U need to send in the ECU separately.

@@alexanderdeprez5236 It's only "what I've heard" and it might mostly affect those who makes and wants an ots tune. A proper tuner who makes a remap with a Dyno usually have better equipment 🙂 It was the same with my Audi, I had to visit the shop or send my ECU to them...

@@MaverickAuto-Pete Yeah I know what you mean but the older cars were smaller in size and had less weight on their hips. Nowadays the G20 series feel like E39 5 series in size and still weigh like almost nothing and have plenty of efficiency and performance on their hip despite the increasing size and weight. I sometimes park my F30 besides a G20 and wonder how the hell I misinterpret the G20 as a G30 or a 5 series in general.

@@alexluke84 Would drive weird. It would need serious chassis and parts work, because those cars weren't designed to push such Horsies (matter of fact torque) IT would need some beefy ass tires and proper suspension setup.

Is the racechip reliable? The 330e/530e can't easily be remapped by using the ecu. So racechip sound nice but what does it do and does it still drives ok?

Surely the 100-200shpuld be faster than that for 340bhp. My 330d with 310 does it under 13 secs and doesn't stop until 250+ kmh

So. RaceChip vs. 400hp+ ecu remap. You've now reviewed both in 330e. What would you recommend and perhaps why?! (performance I understand, but other considerations?) Thanks!

It really is great engine b48 specially in 230i M sport super fun with dp ecu tune feels just as fast m340
In lci 330e you have weaker B48B20A engine from 320i so it is not tuneable as 2019. And 2020.

Hi, I’m driving the 2023 330e LCI too, mine is sedan version and AWD.
Since today, it now has 351hp and 485Nm torque thanks to a similar tuning box (ECU is locked).
I’ve tried to measure the 0-100km/h time and it seems to be between 5-5.1s
My questions are: is this a good time ? And; does battery charge (%) affect acceleration time? Like is there a difference in performance with 25% and (almost) full battery charge?
I hope to find the answers here.

We tried it on our M340 and really liked it. Now lets test an m340 LCI with Racechip
It’s not correct that the car doesn’t deliver full power anymore when the range is at 0 for the battery. This only shows 80% total capacity, it always leaves electric power to make the HP figures.

The same problem this car, x5, 5 series etc all this hybrids is that they have a super small petrol tank, are super heavy and have small trunks. So in general for longer trips they are shit. This 330e has a 46l tank which is ridiculous the X5 has 60l.. 😅

B48 20a is not the same as the engine as B48 20b in the 330i. So this is not “still safe” this is at the limit.

Wait why the flip do they put the 320i 4 cylinder in these cars??? I think it would be badass to have a 330e with the 30i 4 cylinder and the electric drivetrain... guess it would smoke the m440i... shame
AutoTopNL has a video with a tuned one. The 330e from 2020 can come with the 320i engine or 330i engine, doing 184 HP stock, but if you win the lottery and get a 330i engine, you can get 300 HP from it, making the car a 400 HP car in total.
