I have 7 of these cars… On my 24.5 inch radius curves they don’t roll freely….the wheels bind and the cars come to a stop… Behind a locomotive, they don’t stop but you can hear the binding.
These cars are nice. Now what if Walthers offer a grimed and tagged series. Since they are making a lot of modern stuff it would be nice to see a 22500 gallon Hydrochloric acid car based off the 30145 gallon tanker, a 5850 cap. Pullman standard plastic pellet hopper or better yet a Trinity 4871 cap. carbon hopper.
These are so hard to find in N scale. Exact Rail is working on another batch in N scale. These are for some reason easier to find in HO scale by Walthers, Athearn, and Exact Rail. But I’m more into N scale like Bob.
I got two of these, one in the old ttx and one in the new ttx scheme. Only things I did to them was add scale kadee couplers and also added real reflective stripes from smokeboxgraphics.com. They seem to be really nice models and I hope to get a bunch more in the future after I get a bunch of other projects done. I think these will look cool on the club layout.
I work in a railyard, and see these railcars a lot. The doors are supposed to be shut at all times! Doors are opened at distribution centers, loading docks, etc. only. They carry some pretty expensive things!
@@daniellucas6573 especially plug doors like these. If these are seen open while in transit, then someone is getting discipline. Plug doors can and will fly off at track speed
I love these cars!! They run so well !! Thanks for the review !!!
I've already bought a few and there very nice cars

Loved the review, and I have an old ttx version, You can see my review on it on my channel. Everything Trains13
I got a athearn version of those
Got one near the beginning of the month of March and they are amazing, weight is good on the boxcar.
Second, awesome video, I actually have one of those box cars on my layout
That's a neat car. Love the detail on the underside, that a nice starting point for super-detailing.
Can you do i railfanning video showing your excursion trains. Some up and ns

🚂😎👍 Those boxcars look so real they look like something off of the movie Honey I shrunk the kids. Lol

Could you review the Walthers Mainline 85' Budd passenger cars? I'm looking in to purchasing some.

Where are the coupler cut levers? Guess that is why there is the compromise on the price!
Fifth?!?!? LOL!! Great review. I think I need one of these.
Awesome review video
I got the 60' Hi-Cube Box cars from Athearn. Are RTR but got much more details then these from Walhers and cost only few bucks more...
First
I love Walthers for rolling stock, but only get proto everything else wobbles too much.
What good is a boxcar if you do not have opening doors? sure it looks great but no doors that is a deal breaker for me.
