    Sounds like some Kadee couplers are in order. Too bad all manufacturers don't use metal couplers on their locos, even if it's not Kadee brand. Thanks for the review James. I personally enjoyed you pointing out all the fine details. Cheers, Dan

    Nice review. Have you ever thought of making videos for running sessions for your trains? Not reviews, but only running sessions.

      interesting points ,if anyone else wants to discover how do you make a model train layout try Pycanta Model Railroaders Protocol ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got cool results with it.

    The prime mover sounds really nice. Unfortunately, like most Loksound decoders, the horn is way too quiet.

    fun fact, csx didnt make any orders for this locomotive, they got all of theres from lmsx (my favorite came from lmsx 7920) or conrail

      RMS Aquitania fan 55 wrong; original CSX units have nose headlights and no markers; ex-CR/LMSX units are numbered in 73xx and 792x series respectively and have high headlights and markers

    to preface this comment let me say that a VERY active CSX line is 500 ft from my home and I love them to death since they are the closest to home (literally), but the boxcar logo makes me want to vomit and I refuse to buy a locomotive or any rolling stock with the boxcar logo. It looks like a typo or some kind of computer code brackets. (this hatred helps me narrow my model searches and keeps my wallet fatter mind you). If anyone from CSX is reading this, please please please change the logo back. this locomotive model is otherwise gorgeous and review was great. I do hate that the highest front facing lighting only reaches the top of the nose. this frustrates me greatly with the modern loco's (it makes them duller when running in the darkness). thanks for letting me rant youtubers.

    I have to say you do a bang-up job you have saved me some money and some time with all the reviews that you do. I get to hear the bad things the good things I got to hear the sound I get to see it move that helps a lot when you go to buy some that you actually get to see it first before you buy it so you know what you want what you're getting and what to expect so please keep doing what you're doing and again thank you for your service until your next video be good be safe

    More Atlas ditch light issues, that's disappointing. I sell them and I've had returns from (understandably) very pissed off customers when one is noticeably dimmer than the other (and often crooked too). They're not easily repaired; the lights, wires, parts, everything in that area of the loco is glued in place. Sure they can get sent back to the manufacturer (assuming they're still covered by warranty) but that cost adds up too (~$25 each time for me). I still buy some Atlas stuff but I really hope they take note and fix these issues.

    • @shaunhuckstepp7531
      @shaunhuckstepp7531 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I here where you ar coming from , unfortunitly these days reviewers wont or dont like to tell it as it is and not pick faults with models as they may fall out with these manufactures. What it all boils down to is the lack in intergrity by the reviews and a lack of intestinal fortitude.

  • @ldaudelin
    @ldaudelin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @scotts7137

    I typically don't buy anything Atlas or some Athearn just because of the stupid packaging. Really, you can't figure out a foam cradle like Kato or some others? I have to unscrew it? How are you supposed to transport it, or even store it, without busting off a bunch of detail parts. I guess you could screw it back together, but that seems stupid. Too bad, they have some nice stuff, but until they figure that out, I won't be buying.

    • @shaunhuckstepp7531
      @shaunhuckstepp7531 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The reason why they use this method as it reduces the risk of breakages in transit , so customs like you don"t complain about damaged goods .
      My five your old can remove his loco from the box with out an issue, all it requires is a little patience and care
      which is unfortunately what you are lacking .
      Its not rocket science they design packaging for minimal chance of braking in transit .
      I've had many years of experience in design and selling of package products ,so in future before you make an an unqualified option conduct some research of you own then you wont sound so foolish.
