If he stays healthy, I think yamamoto will end up being the ace of the rotation for this season. Now that could change in the future as ohtani gets healthier and sasaki gains more experience dealing with MLB hitters and just as importantly, MLB umpires with their ridiculously changing strike zones.
Honestly. Even if Roki develops into an ace (let’s hope). Yama could still also be an ace. We have the potential to have 2-3 true aces in the future.
Senga and Imanaga need to come over and give them the best rotation of all time (and all Japanese)
Leaving Darvish out because he doesn’t fit that age timeline, but he paved the way.

All my Japanese speaking friends say Yamamoto has a terrible interpreter. I used the YT auto translate and they are correct, the guy seems nice but is not good at his job.
Specifically the question about Roki.
The translator told Yamamoto, “did you give Roki some kind of advise durning the negotiations”
To which Yamamoto said “I haven’t done anything in particular about that.”
Kirsten asks the most bland generic questions. Like zero thought into them.
