- FFXIV is a game with countless things to do, but the most universally loved is often treasure maps. A pieces of content that you can do with friends or by yourself the has the potential to give you various rewards like mounts, minions and even glamours. Unfortunately as loved as maps maybe it's also incredible easy to go through the game never knowing they exist, and so to help make sure that doesn't happen here is everything you need to know about maps.

Don't forget that you can use the 200GP ability to show hidden items when gathering. (Luck of the mountaineer and luck of the pioneer). This has saved me so much time going through nodes.
Wow, I'm glad I bought my Golden Beaver back when it was "only" around 20 millions. :p
i spent thousands of moogle tomes on 70 potentially special timeworn maps and ive still got 40 of them but my fc has moved on to dawntrail maps haha. i love doing "state sponsored map nights" where i just drop a ton of maps and let everyone roll need on everything so we all leave with goodies. if anyone is on Bryn and wants to do maps i guess lemme know haha.
If you are in a good guild doing maps is probably one of the most fun and profitable things you can do. The mechanics in those dungeons are super easy.
WOW! I had no idea that maps were so useful. Thanks a lot
Something else I didn't touch upon is that they are also great for getting crystals/clusters for crafting. I think in the making of this video I got over 1,000 of each crystal/cluster element
Which you could also sell all the clusters for even more gil if you are not a crafter!@@TheNastyNamazu
Thank you for the videos!
What gear do you use as blu mage to solo treasure maps?
I'm using the 530 poetics gear (without materia) and even with tank mimicry and all the spells you suggested(mighty guard and predatory instincts) its a struggle to stay alive in the overworld but especially in the instanced part of the map.
Also healing with Tank mimicry i find it hard:
-if i get low hp White Wind heals for very little
-and Rehydration takes a long time to cast without swiftcast, so i try to cast that and die in the process if im lower hp
The tome gear is fine durability bis(best in slot) for the job is 530 so changing your gear will just increase damage.
So when it comes to the overworld the general idea is you just don't let them do anything. There are three different spawn patter you'll see.
The first pattern is 3 3 3 where you have to kill each wave individually. I usually ram's vibrate the first set, then for the last 2 I continue to freeze and dimensional shift until I can finish them off
The second pattern is 1 3 3 for this one you can dimensional shift three times and all the waves will spawn letting you get rid of everything with ram's vibrate
The last pattern is the 4 pattern that you can just ram's vibrate
As for staying alive inside you just have to be very conscious of your health and plan out your healing, so if your about to drop below 50 or 60% then you going to want to look for an moment where you can do a full rehydration or if your not getting one use white wind. I save swiftcast almost exclusively for healing with rehydration.
I'd recommend checking out this stream I did showing how to do solo maps/dungeons that way you can better see how I actually do certain things

@@TheNastyNamazu Thank you, im going to watch that video and practice more
Are the solo maps worth it or only go for the group ones?
Generally, the group maps are going to be more profitable; however, as a more items are added to the maps(they get new items every patch of an expac) they push older things to the solo maps. For example, with the shadowbringer maps they moved the shell leather(rebel set) to the solo gilderskins and because people like the rebel set the leather sell pretty well(150k per).
What I recommend is going here to see the reward for the different maps: ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Treasure_Hunt
Then here to price check items if you looking to try and sell things:
universalis.app/
Other things to consider is that you can also sell the normal crafting mats and/or the crystals/cluster you get.
@@TheNastyNamazu thanks, dood! Didn't even know these websites existed. I'll check out some maps then! Very useful guide btw!
@@TheNastyNamazu Yeah once I found that in a solo map and saw how much, ended up making an alright amount at the end before EW. I haven't see if anything was pushed to solo for EW.
Can you solo or duo these treasure dungeons? My girlfriend and i tried a lvl 60 treasure dungeon and got whiped pretty fast😅 (both DD tho)
Yeah, it just depends on the job combo. For example, tank + healer should be able to do them without much difficulty. As for solo Warriors likely have the best chance of the normal jobs, but blue mage can do older maps rather easily(I have guide for this).
@@TheNastyNamazu Thanks brother, I will check it out! and subbed:)
I solo all maps 50 to 80 every day on blue mage i make so much gil
Just started doing this as well! No big wins yet but seeing the numbers on what I _am_ getting I'm definitely gonna enjoy this haha
whoa what! I didnt know you can go in as a BLU mage!
Yep, I even have a video on it
yeah, i have 1300 hours of played time and didnt know these existed lul
I hate that these are hidden behind gathering. It simply sucks. I've never done them, since I don't of crafting or gathering, since it simply doesn't interest me.
There are ways you can get them without gathering.
They are rather cheap on the MB depending on your server, level 90 grade 14 maps usually around 25k
Just buy it then
