I Bought one from Walmart last Christmas as my first Baitcaster. Theres a bit of a learning curve to Baitcasters but I was able to get it Dialed in and I've caught multiple 5 and 6 pounders Absolutely no problem. For me it was a great introduction to Baitcasters.
I have the 6'9" Vengeance medium heavy with a black max3 reel.. I love this thing I take it over my Kast King Crixus and Perigee II rod almost all the time.
Everytime you change the drag you need to spin the reel a few times for the new setting to engage. Remember that, makes all the difference.
I snagged one of these at my Walmart on clearance for $40 last winter. They’d been sitting there for $75 and I knew they’d go on clearance in the winter. Great combo!
I bought 3 of these rods and have caught multiple 5, 6 and 7 pounders on it and they still work great.
I've recently traded for a Vengeance reel and I am thoroughly pleased with it. I don't have a Vengeance rod to use with it but that's ok. It's on a Lew's Xfinity rod for the time being which is a great combo itself.

Saw that combo at Walmart and wanted to get it for my younger brother as his first bait casting set up. Wanted to purchase it but I wanted to see some reviews before buying. Seems like this is the one!

Happy I got this pos for 40 bucks. Reel lasted about a dozen fish before the claw that goes in the reel seat broke on a hook set.

I have the vengeance rod and I love it. However I put the silver max reel on it. Also my rod is pure silver, not the camo design.
i just picked this combo up saturday and its my first baitcaster and abu garcia and its missing the brake knob
I’m happy I’m not the only person who brings a cloth for when I have to put my bait castor on the floor 😭I dotn even ride with it on the pole I keep it in my pocket till I fish
what kinda knot did you use to rig the crankbait
Looks like he tied a clinch knot, just do a few turns and then pass the loose end through the loop on the bottom and pull it tight.
I bought one of these at walmart but the reel does not wind the line, could it be some adjustment in the drag or could it have come with problems?
If it’s your first time with a bait caster I suggest you look up how to set it up properly if not you might have the spool tension knob loose or to tight otherwise it could be defective

Sometimes that does happen I've gotten 80 dollar combos for as low as 15 bucks before. I've seen better deals too but all the combos are gone by the time I check lol

Call me superstitious but those lures may be bad luck because I've seen others lose em the first time they use thst combo.

If your reel is set up correctly you won’t. I just bought this combo and have zero birds nests unless i turn the brakes down.

There stuff is garbage rods and reels
Abu garcia makes great reels. I dont know about the cheapies but the one I have is top of the line. I paid quite a bit for it but I wouldn't trade it
