I recommend watching the whole pageant. I heard that Texas won through favoritism so I watched the pageant. Personally, based on her: answers, walk, and overall confidence; she is my pick for Miss USA.

Imagine competing for 4 times at different pageants, losing 3 times and when you finally win, you spend your year explaining things and defending your crown. I feel really bad for R'Bonney, not her fault yet she has to pay the price - kinda like Pia in 2015.

Exactly. But I think the huge upside for her is that people haven’t paid this much attention to Miss USA in a long time. I think it’ll help her following and reach.

@ Dani - Don’t you think that fulfilling her philanthropy/advocacy is more important than the # of people they reach? Lol you’re saying that the attention she has now she can capitalize on no matter how she got it. Sometimes there is no silver lining. Just bitter contestants itching for five more minutes of relevance.

Miss Universe USA winner was all deserving of the crown. I guess contestants especially those complaining her victory should watch her performances and assess their own performances honestly, compare and these girls will realize Miss Texas was a clear winner and did really shine that night. Her advocacy really made a huge impact, very consistent and relatable. When you join a beauty pageant with a purpose such as Miss Universe, it is not only your face value but your heart and your brain matters. When you complain because you believe you are a lot better than Miss Texas and finding fault creating controversies against the winner, then you have a big problem with yourself more than the organization or any person you are blaming at. Self-check and acceptance of defeat are sport worthy.

It’s so painful to watch Miss Montana saying this is not bullying. Montana is so convinced that these allegations have no effect on R’Bonney and that somehow she’s not a victim despite continuously fueling the cyber hate against her (which she’s trying to mask as an attack to the Miss USA org? Tf?!) I’m glad she’s taking advantage of this short term clout because it’s the only time she’s ever gonna get it. No one is “gaslighting” you, whatever the hell that means. If anything you’re the one fooling yourself. This entire situation just makes it clear day by day why R’Bonney won and others (including and most specially Montana) did not. And FYI, Miss Texas DID WIN ON HER OWN MERIT. xx

Considering the *S_X_L* m.i.s.c.o.n.d.u.c.t evidence on Crystle's appointed VP husband (Max),
have you ever asked yourself why Crystle and Max take the contestants out of the country (Mexico x2) to prepare for a USA representation 🤔. @Taylor Monte - not ridiculous at all. There are contestant contractual agreements for all. It's not verified that the president went to the filming in Mexico, but it is verified that Rbonney went behind her state directors back going to Mexico which is a breach of contract. It's pretty murky as to whether she actually paid her own way and so hopefully the investigation will require Rbonney to produce receipts. Either way, if she paid for the sponsor did, she still lied about it to other contestants and was delinquent in the contract that she signed.

As a pageant lover who follows the journey of most queens, I understand their frustrations, and we all condone irregularities and impartiality within the organization, but I believe there is always a proper avenue to bent out their disappointments, and rants, and SHOULD HAVE NEVER brought to social media while they are at the verge of their emotions, because like it or not, whether their claims are true or false, they will just look ridiculously pathetic and immature, whining over a spoiled milk.
It’s excruciating to watch that few of the ladies I’ve rooted to win are involved in this. Now I know as to why they did not win.
    #RealTalk
If you’re thinking straight, and these ladies claiming they blame the organization for these crazy shenanigans, but hearing them speak throwing shades and only pointing towards the direction of the eventual winner, it tells otherwise. For a very obvious reason, they are not just happy with the winner, herself.
It’s BULL that they say they all have nothing against with Miss Texas, but the fact they dragged her into this mess, without knowing both sides of the coin, nor ever consulted their NDs or even expressed their willingness to an open conversation with the org, collectively, show the weight of their grudges towards her. They did not care about the repercussions to the winner, and it’s really unfair for her, like the months of hardships and preparations were put into waste, and was overshadowed by hate and false judgments created by her sisters, just because of the selfish reason, THEY DID NOT WIN.
Haven't you girls ever learned something from Cheslie Kryst´ untimely demise? Fake advocates of Mental Health awareness, realness?
I think if they thought R'Bonney lied to them, it is on her.
Whether as to the MUO´s investigation proved her guilt or innocence, you all already judged her, so the harm was done, but what if she is not, and your bitterness clouded your judgment and took the best out of you? Sadly, SocMed could be so unforgiving, and has footprints, like a recurring nightmare.
When you finally moved on, and will look back, ya all feel ashamed of how your emotions got in the way, that your act was irresponsible, bratty, careless, ignorant and bully.
Well, by then, you will all agree as to why you all did not win in the first place. ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING. And R'Bonney Gabriel was the CLEAR winner, by MILES.

Miss Montana wanting to hold Elle for being silent about the SA allegations, yet was actively competing to be crowned by said organization? Okay. Also, her point of Elle pitting women against women is reaching and actually a reflection of her own actions. Per her video, she’s stated she and the gals were not bullying R’Bonney and thought she deserves to win but rather had a problem with the Miss USA org, yet they isolated R’Bonney by removing her from their chat group. Was that not them pitting woman against another woman?
The way these contestants and ppl on social media are picking apart every little detail of what R’Bonney says or do (aka her delayed reactions to winning) is disgusting and is a prime example of the dark side of social media.
Let’s be wary of the saying “tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.” I have been involved with organizing competitions and have seen on multiple occasions, contestants celebrating the winner and then coming back with suspicion and accusations days alter because 1-2 contestants rounded everyone up and planted seeds of doubts within the group. These contestants have the right to feel how they feel, it’s ultimately how they chose to air their frustrations that defines them.

I have been following you since you won your title for Miss Montana. You have taught me the most important lesson. When we speak of another contestant no matter WHAT your opinion you do it kindly as they DO read this stuff. I remember talking to friends prior to your reign and being very snarky and I NEVER utter a word of it now. NOT ONE WORD. If I think someone is something that is less than I remember what my mother always taught me - if you don't have anything nice to say don't say ANYTHING. I never won a title so who am I to judge. AND you know what they say - opinions are like BLANK everyone has one. R'Bonney to me was the clear front runner from the start. She looks like a Miss Universe and a Miss USA all rolled into one. All of this noise is breaking my heart because I believe that she has a STRONG chance at the Miss Universe crown. It literally just sucks. I remember how many of us enjoyed your Miss USA journey and the behind-the-scenes videos and your shoot with Fadhil and your French updo and all of that fun stuff. I also feel bad for the class of 2022 who may feel that this was not a fair contest. Pageant videos are the things I go to when I am stressed or down to lift me up and to relax and enjoy. This whole situation is taking that away from so many of us. I wish all of the contestant's peace and health and I wish R'Bonney stays strong and competes with a clear mind and heart full of joy. She is already on leaderboards in top positions. If she doesn't get the support in the US - she will certainly get it in the Philippines. Her brand placement was nothing short of genius. I commented on your post-Prelim video about a week ago and said "The Crystal Stewart era is going to be interesting, and frankly, I hope it's short lived". Well that was unexpectedly prescient! There were things that really bothered me during the telecast of Miss USA 2020, red flags if you will. That was technically pre-Crystal but she was on the judging panel and shortly thereafter (if I recall correctly) the announcement of her taking over was made. Something about the judging and the judging panel really bothered me in 2020. I made a few posts on a couple of sites which went uncommented on but I just felt something wasn't right. Had no idea about the 2021 scandal involving Crystal's husband but IMO there's been signs of this all along. Hubris, the line being moved as to what could be gotten away with. These kind of things have been likely happening for decades with more than a few pageants, who knows for sure, but it's amazing and incredibly satisfying to see these contestants, this generation of women, not just using empowerment as a noun but as a action verb.

It appears while RBonney was heavily favorited to win the crown, which is expected that there is always one contestant who stands out every year, the organization at least showed impartiality. It appears they did not…and the tacky tshirts issue and pageant format didn’t help things.

Thanks Dani for explaining more and clarifying things. I believed that it's about time that Miss USA Organization has to revisit all these and iron out things. Anyway, u r very articulate with your pageantry platform. Well, it makes sense coz u used 2 b Miss Universe USA. With that, u can be part of the panel of judges in Miss Universe coz u have the acumen for pageantry analysis. Actually here in the Philippines, both MUP & BBP organizations were doing great in their respective fields. They keep on leveling up each year in handling national pageantry 4 Miss Universe Philippines. So far, this current year is the best coz MUP org. invited five (5) Miss Universe who were supposed to grace the show, namely Miss Universe France, South Africa, India, Pia Wurtsbach (Philippines), except Catriona Gray who became invisible that competition night (with important reason). Going back: again Congrats to the new Miss Universe USA! She can easily get over it. This is not the first time having issue with beauty queens. Even Pia Wurtsbach, Miss Universe 2015 from Philippines was erroneously announced by Steve Harvey with Miss Columbia. But, if R'bonney Gabriel shall win Miss Universe 2022 or even front runners, then this will justify the means of ending up this controversy already. Most of all, I believed that 110 Million Filipinos will truly cheer to both Miss Philippines, Celeste, & Miss Universe USA, R'bonney (beautiful in & out) for being the 1st Fil Am winning the crown. Good luck! ❤️👍😄🙏 from Cebu Philippines.

I'm still simmering on all this drama that has gone down. What concerns me about this for the girls is not only HOW they handled this situation, but the potential repercussions that they might be faced with in the future as a result of how they handled this. I am 100% a proponent of others speaking out when they have an issue with an organization. But there is a caveat to that stance. There are healthy and unhealthy ways of handling differences. Social media is a very powerful instrument, and it can serve as a double-edged sword. When you place ANYTHING on the internet, regardless of what your privacy settings are, your posts/videos are available for the entire world to see. And that crowd who's able to see what is posted includes potential future employers, who, in this case, could be watching not only what others post on social media, but see how they handle difficult situations. When you reign as a beauty queen, as these girls do, you only do so for one year. Employers these days often make it a point to check any presence you have on social media to see what your character is like despite how you may present yourself in an in-person interview. I am hoping that these girls do have success in their future endeavors after their reigns are over, but at the same time hope that the way they handled this situation with Miss USA doesn't come back in the future to haunt them.

I believe you will find my own experience interesting.
My wife and I live in Florida. I have worked for the largest design & media companies in the world and have created and organized major events. My wife is connected by family to some of the more famous crown winners from the pageant's history. We are very much pageant fans.
In 2016, Ms Genesis Davila was 'stripped' of her Miss Florida USA crown by Grant Gravitt Jr, the son of a 'media mogul' (who recently passed away). I, personally, do not know 'why' Grant Gravitt Jr wished to 'strip' Ms Davila of her Florida crown, but he did appear to try to do so using several means, including, apparently, even questioning Ms Davila's US citizenship. Grant Gravitt Jr believed he had discovered the ultimate means to 'strip' Ms Davila of her crown when he produced a photo image of someone from "outside" working on Miss Davila's hair & makeup, which he apparently attempted to suggest took place "during" the Miss Florida USA pageant. Grant Gravitt Jr cited that there was a zero tolerance policy rule for using anyone from outside to do a contestant's hair & makeup. Instead, a pageant contestant must only use the pageant's own staff for these needs.
Apparently, Grant Gravitt Jr had 'cropped off' the date from when the photo he produced was taken. The photo apparently was taken prior to when the pageant actually took place, making the accusation meaningless. Ms Davila sued Miss USA for $15 million dollars and demanded that her crown be reinstated. Ms Davila won her lawsuit, for an undisclosed amount. However, she did appear to be smiling in every photo taken of her after she won. Her attorney also seemed to be pleased with the result.
My wife and I believed that we then heard 'rumors' that the Organization was not happy about this lawsuit, as the lawsuit had caused the Organization considerable embarrassment and a great deal of money. We believed we even heard that they were considering letting Grant Gravitt Jr go.
Believing we might have a chance to work within the Organization by assuming Grant Gravitt Jr's position, my wife and I submitted a very nice package to the top Directors of the Organization. It included beautiful photos as well as price sheets for holding the next Miss USA in a very lovely Florida resort city that has a lot of wonderful amenities. We also used our own personal contacts to reach out to several major Florida companies that had never before donated to the Miss Florida USA pageant, and obtained their confirmed wish to donate to the pageant, should my wife and I be in charge.
A few weeks later we received the Organization's answer. Grant Gravitt Jr would remain in charge of Miss Florida USA - but the Organization requested for us to send them the names and contact information of all of the companies that my wife and I had personally compiled that would be willing to donate to Miss Florida USA.
That was pretty low. Of course, we did not provide them with any business names or contact information. If my wife and I were not going to be involved, why should we?
The subsequent Miss Florida USA pageant was held in Orlando. But Grant Gravitt Jr did not remain long as Florida's director. He would soon be replaced by Todd and Julie Chrisley, who, interestingly, may be facing serious jail time for tax fraud.
I believe you will find my own personal experience interesting as it does cite the Organization's zero tolerance policy for using anyone from "outside" to assist a contestant "during" the pageant, and this zero tolerance policy was used once, even though apparently erroneously in that case, to 'strip' a winner of her recently won crown.

Thank you for the well rounded commentary, Dani. I do think that the biggest problem here is that the perception of Miss USA org is tainted, whether deserved or not. Between the SA allegations from 21 and this situation with alleged favortism, it's going to discourage not only women from competing, but sponsors will not want to link their name to a troubled org. This filters down to those of us competing in other systems, because the average person is going to remember this controversy and is less likely to support a local titleholder because they might think all pageants are "rigged."
I also think MUO needs to think about making a much better experience for their state title holders. From what I've seen from several current ones' IG stories, it sounded disorganized, unclear packing instructions, extra money for t shirts and photos- I wouldn't want that.

Even the product placement itself could demonstrate foreknowledge of R’Bonney’s team regardless of worthiness. Favoritism in pageants is nothing new. What has changed is our culture that has pulled back the veil on these scandals from Miss America misogyny to Max’s harassment to this potential cheating. We now expose (and sometimes) we expose before we investigate. One thing I found interesting (and this is a little side tangent) is that Crystal Stewart was the end of the line for the complaints of the contestants both with her husband’s devious behaviors and these complaints. Listening to the leaked meeting she says “you can email me if you don’t get results from anyone under me”. One place she says they investigate Max and later in that meeting she says “As far as I am concerned no investigation is needed.” If she is also the end of the line for these complaints then the girls have to reach out to the public because the corruption goes to the top. Contrast this with the management of the Try Guys scandal (listen to their recent podcast). They spent a month with lawyers and HR people really investigating before they released their side of things to the public. I believe those girls needed an outside safety office in whom to reach out regarding concerns that did not report to Crystal or Max.
