Ok, I was like why does he not get out of the water?!?! But then when I saw the bear finally get out and the moose stayed in, I was like, oh ok, the moose was running from the bear on land and purposely went in the water to get away from the bear because he knew that he wouldn't be able to swim long before getting tired when the moose can just stand straight up and run in circles, literally. Lol.
Moose ( and most of the bigger species of deer) are excellent swimmers and with a big bull he can stand and rest in deeper water than the bear. Smart move moose !😎👍
A full grown bull moose is a formidable opponent even for a full grown grizzly, the outcome can go either way eveytime! That bear must have been desperately hungry, but no way it had the stamina to compete in deep water. The moose was taking its time & still walking on the bottom for the most part. Epic footage!
The” back-up plan”for the moose,was to walk out of the lake and high- tail it towards the video photographer,,, then just outrun the photographer with the grizzly in pursuit!
When I was growing up, while living in semi-rural Alaska, we would sometimes get moose in our yard. We had a Beagle that basically howled at and ran circles around any 4 legged creature. When he did it to the moose, they really had no idea what to do and just froze until we called the dog back inside.
Ok you convinced me, I will NOT be going to Alaska to hike around in the wilderness in Denali park. Unless I can learn to run 60mph for an hour straight, sheesh them bears keep chasing after ya
Been in the interior 3.5 years. Beautiful place. Difficult winter -30 to -45 ; dark 21/22 hours a day. I’ve had sleep issues and cough. Ready to head back to the promised land... Texas.
Did a couple of years up there in the military back in the 80's. Great place to visit short term. Not sure I'd like to live there though. Winter can be tough even though you make up for it in summer and it is VERY expensive.
Not sure if it can outrun it on land, seen videos of chases it's not allways a short run, even seen on from Sweden where a lonely wolf chases a moose calf for hours and at the end both of get so tired they just lay down for more then five minutes but then the wolf is the one who gets up on it's legs and walks over to the calf and kill it, it looked a little funny when the wolf also collapsed just meters away from the moose it chases. I seen some videos where bears stalking moose it looks like that also is a game on stamina who is going to make it.

Absolute rubbish! A moose can easily outrun a bear. Also, this is a very small, very young bear, and if they actually did fight, the moose could easily kick it to death. This video is just clickbait.
When I seen a big moose in person/in the wild I was amazed how big some really are I'm taking bout huge! Bigger/taller then mid size suv huge! Put it this way regular horses are small to a full sized moose

@@benthekeeshond545 polar bears yes but grizzly bears not as much I think even if they can swim if needed (but I could be wrong) I think the moose is pretty smart to take advantage of his height to walk in the water and make the bear swim I' pretty sure the bear will be exhausted faster if he has to swim when the moose walks in the water

I guess moose is a youngster not even grown to its full potential yet, i can be wrong, but also no animal want to be wounded because in nature thats a chance of get infections and an early death, propable leaving smell to predators to pick up that it is wounded, so it could be smart tactics from the moose also.
I didn't know the advantage for a moose would be in the water. Was moose using its height, ability to walk, because the water was shallow or are moose better swimmers than bears? Was that a young inexperienced bear?
They eat them regularly, just because you’ve heard of a moose and have heard of a bear doesn’t mean you know anything about them, don’t comment and add stupidity to a situation where people are trying to understand it
Usually a bear won't take on a Bull like that, it's not a winning situation half the time. I'm an Alaskan btw, and my father owned a company that had the bus tour contract through the park for a number of years.

@@wermthewerm Of course there is a reason for that. Its not natural for an animal to take on the biggest and healthiest animals out there. But there are lots of cases of brown bears killing fully grown moose. And even bulls.
You don't get to be a full-grown moose without a few tricks up your sleeve.

Born and raised here in Alaska. Once saw a bull moose pick up a full grown grizzly and chuck him nearly ten feet. Crazy strong.

Apparently this isn't the first rodeo the moose has been in, because the moose most definitely stayed out of reach of the grizzly bear.
