Thank you. For performing beautiful songs. New work Regeväli-Pärt Uuspärg. 50 singers plus string orchestra. Song of the heart! Estonian rainbow radio #regeväli#Divine touch!
sang this song in my choir (lebanon senior high) and it brought me to tears every time. one of my favorites.. will forever miss my choir and my teacher since 4th grade, who recently moved states the year i graduated. it was bittersweet.
I watched a live chamber singers performance and this was one of the songs they performed. It was even more beautiful in person with their voices all echoing off the church walls and the large and beautiful stained glass window displayed behind them. Which is saying something when just hearing it in this video is so wonderful. I don't know what the words mean but this song evokes a very bitter sweet emotion for me.
A beautiful piece as well as a beautiful performance! My kids sang this is high school and I couldn’t listen without tears streaming down my checks. So moving. I searched for the version of this conducted by the composer, and this video popped up. When I saw MSU I assumed it was either Michigan State University or another choir in Europe. But no, it was my alma mater! I’m intimately familiar with this piece, and I was *thrilled* by this stellar performance! But I’m not surprised. I was in the MSU band(s) and perfection was always the goal. I hope these kids and conductor are proud of themselves. I know I am. Take care! :)
Gods, such a wonderful and powerful performance. You are commended for the excellent direction and the singers for their excellent tone and recitation. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing! EDIT: I've listened to this daily since I found it, and it still has the same emotional impact on me as the first time. It's just so damned moving...
My choir is performing this this upcoming year and I'm so excited. I'd never heard of Pärt Uusberg before this and I don't know where I've been (especially considering that fellow Estonian composer Arvo Pärt is my favorite composer). Though this isn't my favorite song from him out of all the ones I've listened to, I'm still excited to do this one!
Big greetings - The fire has not gone out. A great choral work has been born "Regeväli" - Help bring this work to the world. Birth and death are sacred. Pärt Uusberg - is the author of this choral work. My dears (strong echoes of Covid)!
I can't speak for this choir, but my choir used to have some of the Altos drop down because we just didn't have enough Tenors to balance the sound. It worked out well though.
The birds fall silent along with the wind, flowers fall asleep in the arms of dew. The sunset blushes when she kisses the night, memories and silence, forest trees are gone to bed. My little song alone in yearning as a remembrance while silence drifts away...
I found the official translation after all this time. It's pretty close to what I had (pretty much some subjective choices). Here it is: Song Name: Evening The little bird grows silent as the wind blows. The small flower falls asleep caressed by the dew Twilight blushes as she kisses the night. The forest trees sleep in memory and silence. They are wistful for my song, now a silent memory, as it paddles far away.
little birds grow silent wind is silent too little flowers sleeping in the arms of dew twilight shyly blushes kissed by night, it seems memories and silence forest deep in dreams missing you, my quiet song with us will stay and the memories in silence flowing far away flowing far away...

Beautiful piece. My choir did Musika a couple of years ago, and we are doing Ohtul this year. Part Uusberg rocks!

Beautiful !!!!!!!!!
Beautiful! Our choir is singing this song in at least one of our upcoming concerts. We sang "Musika" last year and loved it.
where do these choirs find these tenors??!! This is remarkable !!

beautiful 8 voice song
Ok but the fact that they don’t even speak estonian is incredible! Really!
amazing
Beautiful!
In a puddle over here. Damn you, Part Uusberg!
Is it possible to get the English translation somewhere? This is lovely.

Song Name: Evening
The little bird grows silent
as the wind blows.
The small flower falls asleep
caressed by the dew
Twilight blushes
as she kisses the night.
The forest trees sleep
in memory and silence.
They are wistful
for my song,
now a silent memory,
as it paddles far away.
little birds grow silent
wind is silent too
little flowers sleeping
in the arms of dew
twilight shyly blushes
kissed by night, it seems
memories and silence
forest deep in dreams
missing you, my quiet song with us will stay
and the memories in silence
flowing far away
flowing far away...
It is the language of the elfs.
