Apparently this is a common problem with the 2014-2016 Toyota corolla's, reliable cars, but crapy paper speakers and aluminum wires. There should be a recall. Here in Canada I just took my car to visions and had new front speakers/tweeters installed. Took them 90 minutes. They sound is great, better than original speakers. Total cost for the speakers and install about 500$. happy with my decision.
This is only a temporary fix. The real issue is that water leaks into the door panel and corrodes the speaker wire. It will happen again after this repair.

Unreal. Looks like I'll be doing the same.
Can clean or replace connector but will corrode again. Better to solder wires to speaker and insulate.
