Every genre has covered every emotion. Metal just takes it to a level of intensity that others wont'. Country songs about love say they'd refinance their truck for the one they love, Metal songs about love say they would sell their soul for the one they love. Rap songs about hate say they'll do a drive by, Metal songs about hate say they'll rip the world itself asunder.
This song is about herself. The clean singing is her depression, lonliness, fear of intimacy. The growls are pain and anger. The duality of her Pisces astrology sign symbolizes that dichotomy.
Tatiana is just amazing! Her personality on stage is so different from her actual personality. She is just amazing in every way. I enjoyed seeing your reaction 🙂
It's an acquired taste. I know at least two fellow reactors who developed a liking for metal. Julia Nilon: when her fans lured her to "Pisces" she was even more shocked than Janet (priceless to watch). But a while ago, she reacted to Arch Enemy and was quite enthusiastic about it. Elizabeth Zharoff AKA The Charismatic Voice: comes from opera, but took to metal pretty fast. Today, she loves reacting to bands like Lorna Shore, who are a bit more agressive than Jinjer.
You should see her live in front of an audience. She owns the stage and keeps the audience in her hands. One second wild, kicking, screaming, and then the next, graceful and sweet.
not to forget, she is always a professional, hard working artist and a really likeable person, just like the rest of the band. Go and see them if you have a chance. And don't worry, no one in the audience will notice you ;-)
It never gets old watching first time reactions to this song! 🤣 One benefit of watching you react was that your eyes opened so wide when the guttural screaming part began, I got to see how beautifully blue they are!
You've finally seen Jinjer! Hurrah! 🤘 *Ok, next song* - JINJER - Perennial (Live at Wacken Open Air 2019). With each new song from this band, you will be even more surprised!
Hm, you probably want to see Tatiana's literal stage presence. She's actually sort of a shy and anxious person, but on stage she's the polar opposite of that. I'd try Perennial live at Wacken, and Who Is Gonna Be The One live. The one take vocal performance of Judgement & Punishment is usually also a good choice for coaches.
There is a reason this song is one of the most viewed and reactioned for this band. Having worked with them , and seeing them live.. They are solid, very tight, and you can expect what you get from the album live. Tati takes some liberty here and there during her live performances of songs but still very much on point and full of showmanship. 10/10 one of the most commanding and energizing front person currently in any genre of music.
I absolutely love how you came clean at the end, "She's okay" ... while all of us out here were smiling and waiting. Truly a fun and perfect reaction! You earned another subscriber! You're great!
Although I'm sure you'll have plenty of suggestions of what to check out next, if you really want something if tatiana to analyze, look at the 'judgement and punishment one take performance. It shows her upper torso for the while video so you can see her posture, her body language, the way she uses her diaphragm while screaming, she follows while singing, and completely unafraid of the microphone (full open mouthed for entire versus while singing) Whether you react to it, or just look at it on your own, it is a fantastic video for analyzing
I love these poppy singers just judging Jinjer and end up questioning their own existence... It is beautiful always. It is always "wtf, this is real??? This exists???". Tati with her ability and this song in particular was made for reaction channels... I'm no huge Jinjer fan boy, but the contrast in this song as wide as it gets and it is less pronounced in other Jinjer songs I've heard.
This song will completely blow your mind try to react to 4 Filipina sisters "4th Impact" on X Factor UK singing "Bang bang(Jessie J hit) No.1 most Viewed on X Factor. Have a stunning day.
I've seen Jinjer twice now.... Recently just last month in Baltimore at the Sound-stage. They do not disappoint and are honestly even better in person. The entire band is on another level. If you ever get a chance to see them - Do it! Side note - The singer Tatiana is featured in a new Shooter FPS game called Metal Hellsinger - Game is loaded with Talented Musicians that are on the tracks.
You got fully Jinjer-ed. 🤘🤘😁 My daughter introduced me to this band, they’re so skilled and original...& just, GOOD. Loved when you said, as usual-“My criteria is power and stage presence “...I sat back with a wee smile said to you, “waaaaait for it...!!”🤘🤘🤘👏😆 I really respect and love your positivity and absolute confidence in YOUR knowledge, enough to realize that you mighta judged a teeny bit too quickly. That’s a sign of true professionalism, Lady!! Bravo. Thank you for your diversity in musical genres and forms too. Great channel. ⭐️👏
I liked your reaction so much, I had to go back and watch it again, Jinjer has become one of my favorite bands. I remember the first time I heard Tatiana sing and for me it was love at first growl. I have a lot of favorite Jinjer songs. I consider their song, Home Back a metal masterpiece.
Tatiana is the total package. Obviously, she's a tremendous vocalist but what makes her so great she also has an amazing stage presence and she exudes copious amounts of energy. She is a dynamo. I think to really appreciate her even more, you need to watch a live performance. Who Is Gonna Be The One is a great song to react to. Another song I like to recommend is Outlander. It will melt your face!!
Please do NOT be afraid.... It is going to be O K!! Reminder just breathe and try to relax... She is NOT going to jump out of the monitor and get you!!!
Just subscribed! Welcome to the beautiful unique and powerful world of Jinjer! Now it’s time to see them on stage! “Perennial” live Wacken Open Air Festival!!!
i've seen her live, the thing that susprised me the most is that they sound EXACTLY the same as in their recordings. it's incredible, she sometimes changes the screaming parts a bit in her song when doing them live, yet they always sound INCREDIBLE
And this is Tatiana without even having a crowd to perform for. She's acting a bit, but really her power comes out most profoundly on stage. Perennial live at Wacken is the perfect example, but there are so many great concert videos. They've built their career on epic performances on practically every stage that would book them including shows on 6 continents, and culminating with 152 shows in 2019 alone - 2020 obviously changed that trajectory. As a singer, lyricist, and performer, she is a brilliant frontwoman - and there are whole other genres she can segue into as naturally as she sings here. Offstage, Tati is shy, from the subject matter of her songs she seems kinda nerdy (Perennial starts out with a poetic description of the biochemistry of trees hibernating in the winter), and she battles chronic depression (which gets worse in the winter which is what Perennial is about). Onstage she becomes instead what her art and the crowd needs her to be - a metal goddess, an angel of both kindness and fury. Her sheer power as a human being to make the transformation is intoxicating to behold, and quite personally inspiring. Tati was inspired to sing metal by hearing Otep when she was 15 and being shocked to find out Otep is a woman. She started singing with every band that would let her pick up a microphone almost immediately afterward, performing with cleans while slowly developing her growling skills over the years to follow until she was ready to reveal those skills to the world performing with a prior band called Prophecy in early 2008 before being recruited to sing with Jinjer in late 2009 and officially joining in 2010. Jinjer is her 8th band across multiple genres. They were already doing impressive stuff before 2014 but had achieved only limited success. Being from eastern Ukraine, in that year the war there after Russia occupied the Crimean peninsula would have stopped them touring so they left their homes, friends, and family behind. They started touring as much as they could, both to make a living and build the success to justify their sacrifice and have been running an ever-escalating tour schedule ever since, until the lockdowns last year forced them to take a vacation. This year they are starting to come back, with a limited tour in Europe this fall mostly in Germany (assuming things keep getting better), and a full tour of the US and Canada this winter. No dates for the UK yet, but they'll be back when things get better - most years they've done a few shows there as part of their European tour. I've been lucky enough to see them twice in 2019, and have tickets for a show this fall - crossing my fingers! :) Definitely worth it, especially as they are an up-and-coming band doing intimate shows with inexpensive tickets.
I got into Jinjer immediately after I saw this video about 4 years ago and my friends thought I was a nutcase. It's fun watching the world come around to this incredible band and insanely great lead singer.
Nearly every video of theirs, Tatiana exudes confidence - in spades. Perennial live and Who Is Gonna Be The One live are both great next steps to sample the unflinching type of confidence she has. Amazing. Great reaction!
There's so much beauty in the dark as there's so much horror in light... And that's Tatiana, when I saw her, I fell in love. She's incredible. By the way, I'm sure you've heard of vocal cords and false vocal cords... that's how she changes "personality" All reactions to Jinjer are unique... !!! Great video...
Not only do I love the initial reactions when it goes from soft to heavy, but my favorite is when it goes the opposite way and y'all are shocked at that. You acknowledged that, and your reaction to it was absolutely beautiful
You absolutely must see Tatiana at a live performance to witness her real stage energy. Best performance as a newbie to Jinjer would possibly be Perennial, live at Wacken. Scream is an extreme vocal style and requires proper techniques and training to avoid damaging the vocal mechanisms. I have followed you for a couple of years and I know this genre is not your “cup of tea”, but give it a couple of tries and you may find there’s a little Tatiana deep in your soul. Knowing the lyrics is important. Love your passion.
You witnessed a goddess expressing her spirit, through body and voice. She is who she is meant to be, knowing and working very hard at her craft. Astounding.
Loved your reaction Coach! Have subbed to you. This video can lose Athlete's foot & other bacteria in your skin if you watch and react to 4 Filipina sisters "4th Power/4th Impact" on X Factor UK sings "Bang Bang" (Jessie J. Hit).
A big part of the quick switches is her having to be relaxed. As someone who has done this type of vocals for years, I’ve found the only way to switch quickly between a confident clean and a guttural false-chord scream is to keep the vocal tract relaxed the entire time. If you harbor any tension in the vocal tract, you’ll end up either hurting yourself at worst, or messing up one of the 2 parts at best. Tatiana is really good at keeping that relaxation going in the right places, and keeping any tension confined to the core muscles during the screams.
She's really sweet & kind. Super quiet in real life/in person. She's SO kind. When I got to meet them and photograph their show in 2019 they are all some of the nicest people i've EVER met.
Good job - you've officially been found by the metal people, and welcome to the circus :-) I'm not even into metal but I've loved the glorious symbiotic relationship that's sprung up online between vocal coach TH-camrs and metal fandom...now wait until the Nightwish army finds you :-)
You bring an interesting perspective to these! Please check out Jinjer - Perennial Live at Wacken 2019 next. That was is actually live in concert and you can judge her stage presence!
Hi, firstly, I just found you & as I am so impressed with your knowledge & reaction style, I’ve just subscribed to your Chanel. Now this is a rather long post, but please bear with me. Your opening remarks were you wanted confidence & a powerful voice. Well, I have an absolute GEM for you. Here goes: A young lady by the name of Amira Willighagen won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine, & remarkably had not had a single singing lesson. She taught herself by watching uTube videos featuring the likes of Pavarotti by mimicking the mouth movements and breathing techniques. She was 7 when she started watching the uTube videos. Shortly after her win, she engaged a vocal coach & has since performed in some 20 countries and sung in at least five languages. Amira ticks all the boxes you are looking for. Her confidence on stage is remarkable, even as a nine year old. She has an incredibly powerful but Angelic voice, complimented with a beautiful natural vibrato . Her range is superb & whatever register she’s in, she does so effortlessly and without straining. I’ve listed below 4 of Amira’s performances in order of age for your reaction consideration. ... O Mio Babbino Caro at age 10 ( the performance with Andre Rieu ). The world renown musician/ conductor Andre Rieu invited Amira to perform at Maastricht with an audience of 15,000 who rose as one to give her a standing ovation. ... Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church at age 11. This performance highlights how Amira sings from the inside out, with genuine emotion, & wow, how can an 11 year old produce such power & beauty. ... Nella Fantasia at age 12. Please select the live concert performance. ... Gabriella’s Song at age 14. Again the live concert performance. I sincerely hope this extra long post has conjured up enough interest for you to react to this young Soprano prodigy with the voice of an angel. Cheers Graeme. ps. Her stage presence shows not only confidence, but a calmness usually associated with those with years more experience.
"The not-screaming part, it's always so beautiful and so deep. Then when that part comes it's like she's another person and I don't know how to judge that." Yes you have correctly identified the theme and message of the song LOL.
the band name is Jinjer. The lead singer is Tatiana Shmalyuk. They're from Ukraine. that's 100% her. There are also vids of her doing one-take vocal performances. I'd recommend 'Judgment & Punishment' (one -take vocal performance). The song is about the dichotomy of Pisces, her zodiac sign. I sub'd
Welcome to the world of Jinjer. If you'd like to see more Tatiana's one take vocal performance of "Judgement and Punishment" is great for vocal coaches to check out. Other songs you'd may enjoy are "Retrospection", "Perennial live at Wacken", "Bad Water official live video", "I Speak Astronomy" and "Cloud Factory official live video"
Could you take a look at an all-girl band? They are 21, 19, and 16, called The Warning. YT complains about me posting links but you can find Dull Knives from The Warning Cave
Fantastic recommendation this song is PURE ROCK! 3 sisters from Monterrey Mexico who rock, singer songwriters, real artist who have put in the time and hard work into their music, not an overnight success, their journey as a band started in 2012😁
Hm, thanks, nice. If you like all-girl bands, try: GALMET, Doll$Boxx, Destrose, 워킹애프터유 (copy-paste), NEMOPHILA. Somewhere on that path you'll find the girls in maid costumes, and the ladies in white. And don't forget Girl in a Coma.
Please do some more Jinjer! It's been a while since you last reviewed them. I suggest "Pit of Consciousness - live in Kiev", the band is at their best in this one. And Tatiana... OMG!!
It never gets old. If you want to see confidence, watch any of her live performances. 'Perennial' at Wacken is a common one. Her 'Judgment and Punishment' one take recording in the studio is impressive, because she's just interacting with the camera, and you can see her expression - "Hold my cat, It's time to go to work." And then, if you really want to see power, the 'Sit, Stay, Roll Over' music video, but it is some brutal power metal.
But it is not her stage presents, it's studio. Look her real live open air stage presents. This "fragile" woman (I just kidding), in front of a crowd of thousands men with her songs "Pisces" "Perennial" "Who Is Gonna Be The One". I will say, not much people do so much, to popularize HeavyMetalRock, like Tatiana with her amazing talent.
She even got me to appreciate a little growling but these three sisters ( _13, 16, and 18 years old_ ) had a lot of guts to take the stage at a heavy metal festival and play rock in front of a huge death metal crowd. 😁 TH-cam code *Qf44EWH3Yfc*
She scared the confidence right out of you... Always, they er best band around and I'm subscribing to see you do more of their videos. Please do their song "Perennial" live at Wacken to see some real stage confidence. Many more to do after that! 👍
Janet, to really see a great performance of Tatianna's vocal range, watch (hopefully react to) her video "Judgment and Punishment One-Take Vocal Performance". Literally done all in one take.
You're such a nice reactor and coach, new subscriber in your Channel! Your mind will refreshed if you react to "4TH IMPACT" which created a history in X Factor UK as the most viewed, garnering 176 Million Views, they sang "Bang Bang" by Jessie J. hit song in their first audition.
Wana see some stage performance check out Jinjer Teacher Teacher. It's a video of 2 live shows. It's pretty hype and how she owns the stage is amazing!
Ohhh you are so spot on!.. I´ve seen them live and Tatiana just mesmerizes you on stage. One of the greatest live band around without a doubt!! Just go and watch Perennial live at wacken and you´ll know 🤘❤
"She's ok...." Me: Wait for it. Wait for iiiiiiiiiiiit. "AH!!!!!!!" ME: THERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch her one take vocal performance of Judgement & Punishment and Perennial Live. There is no weak link in this band, but Tatiana is a goddess walking the earth for her own amusement.
LOL, was that enough confidence for you? 😂😂 Rumour has it that Tatianas' face is now pictured along side of the word CONFIDENCE in the English dictionary !!
I like the approach to this. Not 'can she sing?' (I've seen enough WHAAAT?!!?! reactions) but 'what does she look like?'. Well, I can tell you that from my perspective, having seen Jinjer live a few times, Tatiana is the absolute dream performer when she's out there on stage. She has the audience eating out of her hand.
Janet:
Is she a confident singer? Does she have stage presence?
Me:
Sips tea.
Smiles.
Yupp, lol, morning coffee and a jinjer review, perfect
@Abel Derrick reported for fraud, stop spamming this bs.
i couldnt have said it better myself lol.
judgement and punishment is an amazing example as well
When I heard her say that I busted out laughing. She has absolutely no idea what she was in store for.
Janet before video: is she confident enough to sing?
Janet during the video: am i confident enough to listen?
It’s like that quote: I’m not stuck in here with you. You’re stuck in here with me!
🤣🤣🤣
Coach "The main criteria for a confident singer is power and presence"
Tatiana "Hold my beer"
Or in the 'Judgement and Punishment' one take, "Hold my cat."
Being Ukrainian, wouldn't it be vodka?
One of their softer songs too XD
@@michaeldougherty2807 Palinka, maybe.
Metal is a lot about confidence. I love how it seems to shake yours. It expresses the emotions other musical genres are afraid to explore

Her reaction everytime the vocalist starts to scream is priceless

And it was written for her by an ex band member
@@neilpatrickhairless Actually, she wrote it with help from Eugene (the bassist).
Your an astrophysicist? Ohh I'm a pisces!
Share the same birth date, this song is accurate and I approve her message 👏
It never gets old. I actually like the final chorus the best, when she switches so smoothly.
Tatiana is just amazing! Her personality on stage is so different from her actual personality. She is just amazing in every way. I enjoyed seeing your reaction 🙂
"Metal music is not my favorite." Well, now that we've identified the problem, hopefully we can find a solution. More Jinjer, please! (Subbed)
Agreed. Subbed to see more Jinjer reactions....for sure.
It's an acquired taste. I know at least two fellow reactors who developed a liking for metal.

I absolutely second that! Watch that tiny woman entertain the masses. 😂
I'd say Perennial, because the other one might give her a heart attack.
Tatiana is a perfect example of confidence on stage... She owns it.
Tatiana is the kind of singer that hooks people who don't like growling with her growling. LOL She's freaking awesome.

I was one of those lol
Yes, after literally years of disliking metal generally because of the harsh vocals, she was the key that enabled me to shift into appreciation mode.

I'd try Perennial live at Wacken, and Who Is Gonna Be The One live. The one take vocal performance of Judgement & Punishment is usually also a good choice for coaches.

They are going on tour later this year, so be sure to check the schedule to see if they will be nearby for you to see them
Great reaction. She is amazing live. Please try out perennial live at Wacken. Hurrey we can’t wait.
Hit).

I am late for your reaction, but I love it 😂 your fear of her growl singing..
Seen her live a few times she has huge stage presence, but in person she is also one of the most friendly and down to earth people you will meet.
“She’s okay”….
Got humbled real quick lol
A big part of the quick switches is her having to be relaxed. As someone who has done this type of vocals for years, I’ve found the only way to switch quickly between a confident clean and a guttural false-chord scream is to keep the vocal tract relaxed the entire time. If you harbor any tension in the vocal tract, you’ll end up either hurting yourself at worst, or messing up one of the 2 parts at best. Tatiana is really good at keeping that relaxation going in the right places, and keeping any tension confined to the core muscles during the screams.
Great reaction,,would love to see them live but alas they not coming to NZ this year .
"She's okay..."
Me: A'ight bet, this going to turn out well. xD
Looks to me like it wasn't Tatiana's confidence that was put to the test in this video 😂😁 Wonderful reaction 💖
Tatiana has such a fantastic voice, and the fact that she can switch between clean vocals and growling so effortlessly is so amazing.
I shouldn’t… I really shouldn’t ... enjoy myself this much watching you get scared 😱
One of my favorite hobbies is watching Pisces reactions.
Great reaction thanks 🎉🎉🎉
Hi, firstly, I just found you & as I am so impressed with your knowledge & reaction style, I’ve just subscribed to your Chanel.
Now this is a rather long post, but please bear with me.
Your opening remarks were you wanted confidence & a powerful voice. Well, I have an absolute GEM for you. Here goes:
A young lady by the name of Amira Willighagen won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine, & remarkably had not had a single singing lesson.
The confident Singer --> 😱 Jinjer Fans --> 😁 lol 😂
That's THREE personalities. Singer, screamer, growler
"The not-screaming part, it's always so beautiful and so deep. Then when that part comes it's like she's another person and I don't know how to judge that." Yes you have correctly identified the theme and message of the song LOL.
I just love Tatiana. So beautiful and fiercely original. Nothing is sexier than this woman.
the band name is Jinjer. I sub'd
Tatiana has some of the most commanding stage presence in the game. Any of her live show performances are truly amazing
The back and forth between clean and growl is a play on the duality of Pisces
I just saw this suggestion and want to support this as well. Great band and also an amazing song choice!
Please do some more Jinjer! It's been a while since you last reviewed them. I suggest "Pit of Consciousness - live in Kiev", the band is at their best in this one. And Tatiana... OMG!!
If you really want to see Tatiana's stage presence you need to react to Perennial Live at Wacken.
I watched her live. It was amazing. She's not the first woman to growl, but her technique and abikity to switch her register is unbelievable
Tatiana is the second most female vocalist behind floor from nightwish on the planet!
"second most female" kekw
Are you sure in that statement? Alissa White-Gluz and Lizzy Hale certainly contenders aswell when it comes to the best singers.
Nope Floor is the most talented vocalist!
@Steven Pounsett sorry but Tatiana is incapable of carrying Floor's water.
everyone: how is she making that sound??
Tatiana: hold my false cords...
@@TheUnderdogDe girls only metal band? Not bad, аt least they have the potential
Literally done all in one take.
this whole video is beautifully made, all the angles and Tatis singing with the band is a perfect combination..
Perrenial live at wacken is way MORE powerfull and her stage presense is wow
More Jinjer please! Thank you.

The live concert version of "Perenial", link here. th-cam.com/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/w-d-xo.html
You should look at her live performance of Perennial in Germany. Most incredible stage presence I've ever seen.
Europe has magical creatures like Tatiana, we just don't bring those into the daylight very often :P
Janet: you didn't tell me she had two voices. Me: heh just wait 'til she uses her third
LOL, was that enough confidence for you? 😂😂
Rumour has it that Tatianas' face is now pictured along side of the word CONFIDENCE in the English dictionary !!
You are so cute! You look like the blond girl in "scrubs!" :D
