Tatiana was singing her explanation of her star sign, Pisces. The gauges in her earlobes have a goldfish inside. She is a self taught growler. And from what I have seen in the past she stands just a bit over 5 feet tall, sorry, I don't do metric. I'm 65, very soon to be 66; and the first time I heard her, I thought demonic possession, but after some research, what she is doing is basically a combination of breath and neck muscle control. I honestly would like to hear her sing more without the growl, but that's me. She is a beautiful lady, and has a beautiful soul. Thank you ladies for sharing. Molto grazi.
Personally I actually like the balance between her clear and harsh vocals, especially when you compare her to other female growlers. For example Alissa White-Gluz is overwhelming because she uses no clear vocals, while Melissa Bonny on the other hand often only does 2 or 3 lines per song. So its actually pretty balanced. But you are defenetly right. Shes a beautiful soul.

most people these days fail to realise that when this was originally released it wasn't too common to have a singer who sings 'clean' and 'growls' in the same song, regardless of whether they are female or not... this helped forge that new direction. bands like Fear Factory and Godflesh may have been pioneers of it in the early 90's but it didn't become as prominent as it is now until the early/mid 2010's 😎🤘 p.s Daphne is stunning Respect & Peace ☘

This band is very talented, they are amazing musicians👍. Tatiana’s natural voice is beautiful and mesmerizing. The growling took some getting used to (I almost fell out of my chair the first time)as it’s not exactly my preferred style of music. Tatiana is amazing on how much voice control she has. She sounds better growling than most males. The lyrics are great at describing the duality of the Pisces sign. This now one of my favorite bands😊.

Tatiana’s primary harsh vocal technique is non-tonal, meaning it presents as super low and doesn’t have much movement pitch wise. Anyone could learn how to do it properly with a vocal coach fairly easily. She’s been doing it a very long time, specifically because she wanted people to question if it was a guy doing those parts. The trade off you make with using non-tonal is that it is hard to understand what they’re saying. Other vocalists who use a lot of non-tonal harshes are Will Ramos (he does about 8 completely seperate techniques) from Lorna Shore and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy. If you want to hear some vocalists who use tonal harsh vocals and also sing cleans, I suggest starting with Courtney Laplante of Spiritbox. Her cleans have this buttery-smoothe like molasses feel to them, and her hashes have this clarity to them where you can understand every word she’s yelling at you.
Singing as if she's two different people is the exact point of the song. The song is about the duality of the nature of the Pisces zodiac sign. Tatiana gets the completed instrumental from the boys, then writes the lyrics. She writes the lyrics in Russian, then translates them into English. They had a bit of a break a year or two ago as the guys were helping out the Ukrainian army, but the band is back together now after the Ukrainian government designated them to be cultural ambassadors to the world on behalf of Ukraine.
Proof that growls are not just screaming. It’s air and diaphragm control. It’s obvious in her because she’s a female and those guttural growls sound nothing like her normal voice, not so obvious when a man does it because of their deeper voice.
