To be fair though, frozen Gyoza is just fresh Gyoza that has not been cooked yet so its not surprising that tasted the best since it was just cooked instead of being reheated / delivery.
I think the store bought has an advantage in this format. One big thing that separates the fancy places is freshness. By the time your staff has it delivered to the studio and it sits around for an hour or so until you film, it's lost a lot of it's freshness.

I work in a grocery store sushi department ( we make our own sushi) and it’s actually really good and fresh. Made fresh everyday throughout the day.
The best part about Calabash is every restaurant claims they are "the original Calabash"
