Vehicle is necessity esp. if there is no public transportation available due to the area where the person lives. I used to live in Toronto and buses, streetcars and subway have frequent service (5 to 15 minutes interval). I was able to get around the city. Therefore,vehicle is not necessity. However, if you live in suburbs or small cities, their public transportation is not that great, so vehicle is a must. I also used to live in Edmonton and their bus schedules are not the greatest. It depends on the time of the day like after 7pm, or weekend, the interval can be up to 1 hour. If it’s winter and you missed your bus for a couple of seconds, you’ll be waiting for 30 minutes to an hour and freezing your @$$ 😂 … Buying a house is a another whole level. You need a job with good income to afford downpayment, mortgage payments, property tax, groceries, utility bills, car payments, insurance, discretionary expenses ( eating out, vacation) and many more.

I’ve been in Canada for 25 + years and I’ve been through a lot. I have 2 diplomas (programming and nursing). I’ve switched careers multiple times. I’m a nurse (RPN) now but still working hard to get my degree to become RN. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge through out the years and I’m still learning and I want to accomplish more. Ambitious much? i guess but at the same time I would like to provide better life for my family and kids. As a first generation who came to Canada, we set the foundation for the future of your family so they will have a better head start in life.

Payo ko lang sa mga bagong dating sa CANADA, mag bus muna sandali para matutunan kung paano mag commuté at maranasan din at malaman kung ano ang kaibahan kung may sariling sasakyan. Sa mga nagtatanong kung ano ang dapat unahin, siyempre dapat sasakyan dahil napaka- importante dito. Hueag bibili ng bagong sasakyan bumili muna ng used pero good condition at reliable brand ( toyota or honda). Huwag gumaya sa mga bagong dating na porma agad ang inuuna ( facebook, inggit, yabang). Kapag nakapag- pundar na ng bahay ay saka na lang bumili ng bagong sasakyan. Huwag na Huwag bibili ng dalawang brand new sasakyan, palaging isa lang na bago at isang used ( minsan kasi kailangan sa mag- asawa ang tigisang sasakyan lalo na may mga maliit na anak ( pagpasok sa trabaho, hatid sundo sa school, Dr.s appointment at iba pa).

parang mas ok ang bahay.. mas makaka kilos ka ng maayos sa sarili mong bahay tapos makakapag plano ka ng maayos kung anong sunod mong gagawin sa buhay..
madali na ang car kapag may house ka....unahin mo ang bahay after a month kumuha ka ng car basta may extra sa income mo na bayaran ang monthly or bi-weekly ang bilis....ang bahay magkakaroon ka pa ng equity every year, pag rent wala kang magiging equity....yung bayad sa rent mo yun ang magiging equity ng bahay mo....parang ipon mo rin yun....advise din sa new comer huwag masyado gumamit ng credit card, limit mo lng paggamit dyan ka babaon sa utang sa credit card mahirap magbayad ng utang lalo ang credit card 29% interest....
sa akin ay sasakyan muna. necessity at kailangan pareho kayong marunong magdrive. kasi mostly Pinays hindi makapagdrive. lalo na diyan may snow sa inyo. kung maganda na ang work ninyo pareho saka na lang ang bahay. depende rin kung marami kayong pera na.
I drive city bus in Saskatoon, I have many different individuals from other parts of the world on my bus every day, right now most are from the Ukraine. They are here in Saskatoon due to the war in their country. I love getting to know them as they use transit every day. Welcome to Canada to everyone from all over the world. for a newcomer ok lng magapartment at 2nd hand car…pag nakaipon na and may ipon its better na unahin muna ang house at tiis na lng s 2nd hand na car..mas mahirap maaprove sa house pag may loan na kotse..

@@JeffandGrace yes po..at ang bahay magandang investment,may equity..mas masarap mgbayad ng mortgage na alm mo mapupunta sau kesa sa rent na landlord lng mkikinabang,,then ipon uli kung kaya na get a brand new car as a reward..
kung diyan ka naka tira sa Canada unahin mo ang sasakyan kasi kailangan mo yan sa hanapbuhay then pag mag stabilize kana mangutang ka o loan ng bahay

Based on our experience, a car is a necessity-work, going around, getting around. The house needs equity so you have to first accumulate funds. Work=funds.

Hi Grace! Just browsing & happened to watch this video. Am from Calgary. Yes, tama ka depende sa pangangailangan. Advise then sa amin ng mga nauna sa Canada, this was 29 winters ago, na unahin ang bahay. Pero that time, mahirap pa maghintay ng Bus dahil di pa masyadong maraming tao. Kaya bumili kami ng Used Car. Then Later On, Bumili na ng bahay. Your story is somewhat similar to our Journey, and it's inspiring. Keep Vlogging & Good Luck! Kuya JP

bahay muna, kapag inuna mo ang sasakyan tapos gusto mo ng bumili ng bahay at d mo pa bayad ang car kabawasan yun sa approval amount mortgage sa presyo ng bahay na gusto mo.....

If you cannot afford to buy the car in cash. Dont buy it.. be wise.. buy used affordable older cars.. Honda and toyota are very reliable years 2008-2015. If bus accessible mas mkakaipon ka.. WAG PURO LUHO AT BRAND EW TULAD MOST PINOYS AND OTHER ASIANS. Utang2 naman pala through finance

If malapit lang employment commute-friendly or walkable, investing in a house is better since money is being placed on equity early
If mahihirapan to get a good employment with good pay without a car, better to invest in a car to get that money to buy a property
There is no stable employment in Canada. It's a fact. Besides, it is very rare to find a second job in the same site if ever you want to earn more.

Unang una po depends po san province kayo mapupunta. Pag sa major cities like Van & Toronto, mataas po costs of living jan. Nasa pagbabudget na lang po talaga. Good luck po sa journey nyo here ✈️🇨🇦
