Hi Everyone! I had to make a simple video for these sourdough pop tarts because I've had a lot going on over the last few weeks and it's kind of hard to film/photograph and edit everything by myself. I promise these pop tarts are delicious and if you have some extra sourdough discard, you should try them!!
I’ve been overlooking this recipe thinking that it would be complicated but after watching the video I’m encouraged to try! Every other sourdough recipes are amazing, sourdough bread, crackers bagels einkorn bread so far!
I have only tried sourdough one time. I was upset by the waste. I did not have nearly enough recipes to use up the discard, and so I have not tried again. I am so glad this came across my suggestions! These look delicious!
just made these with strawberry jam & they are AMAZING 👏 thank you for this recipe will definitely use this as a base for other flavors 10/10 highly recommend
Fairly new to sourdough but had an abundance of discard and decided to try this recipe. Doubled the recipe and did add more discard rather than the water as it was too dry. It all turned out beautifully. Used my canned strawberry pie filling and tried a few with the brown sugar cinnamon. So pleased and now I’m looking at more of your recipes. Thank you for this❤
OOOHH!! Raspberry PopTarts!! Even after 50 years, I STILL look to see if they have brought back plain raspberry PopTarts or Toast-Ems, to this day and every time I go to the grocery! ROFL!! I LOVED them! And now I can MAKE them!! THANK you!!!.
I just started my sourdough journey and this is going to be my first bake 😋 elderberry jam pop tarts. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with me. Following for more recipes. Bless Yah Mishpocha.
These look absolutely delicious!! I never knew these were so easy to make. I'm sure they are so much healthier (compared to store bought) to eat also. Thank you for sharing Amy👍👍
This is exciting. Thank you . Looking for discard recipes. I'm always a big fan of homemade pop tarts. I cringe when my family wants me to buy pop tarts
I made it. It was very tasty but I had a problem. The dough was very very sticky. My discard starter is 100% hydration. I should have probably added more flour

Do you have the written recipe?

I very much appreciate how thorough you are in explaining, step by step, this wonderful recipe as you do with your other recipes. Thank you.

I can not wait to try this recipe. Everyone of your recipes that I have tried have come out fabulously.

Will do!! Thank you :)
These are so good, and so easy!!! I like to make them with a chicken filling too! Thank you!!
Oh yum, what’s in the chicken filling you do?

Hope you enjoy :)
I have made these several times and they are spectacular ❤
Just came upon this video, love it and so well done! I’m going to give it a try for sure. 🥰
Husband made strawberry ones today and they were really good!
We love these. Can the dough be frozen, to use later?
Made these before I watched video and they are great. Need to do them again and use her tips. Will make again.
These look so good, but more like toaster strudel which is way better than pop tarts🥰
Great recipe. I made a hot pocket version with this dough
I love the discard recipes! So helpful!
I’ve really learnt so much from your videos!
Absolutely delicious!
I wish I can post a picture.
Mine didn’t look as perfect as her, but practice makes perfect! I am sure I will get it one day
Yum!!! Thank you for sharing this video. I’ll be making these soon with cherry filling and no icing on top.❤️
That sounds delicious! My husbands favorite is cherry :)
Thank you for the video! I definitely want to make this. Hey! I like strawberries too.
This looks delicious, but more like Toaster Strudel than a Pop Tart. Still, I'll have to give it a shot! Thanks for sharing.
Amy: another great video. I really appreciate your attention to detail, just like I do. I'll post my results. Thanks
Again, thanks for the video. This in on my desk for tomorrow!
Enjoy! You're so welcome Joey :)
Can you use this recipe for making a homemade pie crust? If so should I double the recipe to make enough for a top and bottom? Thanks in advance💜

Yum!
That looks so yummy!
It is! I hope you enjoy :)
Hi there, I'm wondering why you add vinegar to the mix? Thanks for the video!
I had the same question. Here’s what Google says “Vinegar helps prevent the formation of gluten which makes for a tough crust.”
I made it. It was very tasty but I had a problem. The dough was very very sticky. My discard starter is 100% hydration. I should have probably added more flour
Can i make the dough and freeze it? How long will it last?
Can you explain to me why to grate butter when you're going to squeeze that dough in your warm hands? I can just melt the butter then.
Looks amazing. On the list of to do.😂
Hi, is the discard a starter that has risen already? After it has been fed? Thank you
Discard or unfed starter is the starter hungry right before you feed it.
Can you freeze the dough to make later?
Is that a reusable plastic wrap you used?? It looks thicker or something.
julieanna65 it kind of looks like the knockoff brand of press n seal to me
It's press and seal. I didn't have any regular plastic wrap on hand that day.
Is there a way to avoid them to "unseal" in the oven? The filling is bursting at the edges and its so sad!
❤❤❤
D'licious!
Looks like you have more than 113 grams of AP flour. Are you doubling the recipe?
🔥💚
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
why there is no measurement in any of the ingredients?
littlespoonfarm.com/sourdough-pop-tarts-recipe/
113 g of flour is not enough. You had to put more. Please check the recipe again
The recipe says 125g of flour. Click on the more option in the description, and the recipe link will pull up for you😊❤
So I think it is half a cup of butter which is one stick and two cups of flour right? Or one and 1/2 cups of flour?
