You say your husband works construction, my husband works construction also he’s a welder/boilermaker works shutdowns, so I’m concerned these won’t stand up to sweat and smell 12 hour days. Do they really? I’ve seen these on another TH-camr I watch so I’m more concerned it’s just to get money from the partnership than if they really work. I’m wanting to go natural tho, so sick of all these chemicals in body products and d food, but also wanna stay dry abd not smell bad. Love your videos and love how you talk the whole time it’s the reason I watch.
From a fellow Catholic momma and RN turned homemaker, I hope you continue to share more of your knowledge and resources for pregnancy, birth etc!!! I was a former L&D nurse and can attest to virtually everything you talk about (everyone watching, take note!). Much of it I have learned in my own research, but you’re always teaching me something new to research. Must be your priceless midwifery knowledge! Keep doing your thing lady and spreading God’s truth! Congratulations on baby #5 ❤
Love the idea of putting discard into Granola and btw I am 51 years old and i love watching you prepare for your new baby and all the nursing education that you provide i.e. 'the baby signal has to be there for the birthing process to begin'' That is amazing! thanks so much.
You can talk my arm off about pregnancy any day! I love learning about how miraculous and wonderful our bodies are. I never knew that fact about the babies lungs signifying when they’re ready to be born. This makes so much sense. My cousin just had a baby and they induced her a few days early. I’m still not exactly sure why they did that. They gave her pitocin and she never progressed. She ended up having to have a c-section. Same exact thing happened to my SIL’s friend. Induced because “it was her due date”, never progressed, c-section. It’s absolutely ridiculous the time lines these doctors put on babies.
The same thing is happening around here! Of my friends that do hospital birth, all but one in the last couple of years ended up with a C-section. All but one! And they mentioned it to her. It's getting really out of hand!!!
I love the little fun facts at the end! Keep talking our arms off 😂 you are such and inspiration for someone like me who is hoping to start our family soon and wanting to go the natural route. Thank you!
I am newer to your channel and I love your content. I can’t help but just stare at your kitchen layout. Have you done a kitchen tour or house tour. I’d love to see your set up!!!
I love when you talk about things no one asked to learn! I was “induced” with pitocin with my first pregnancy at 21 and I wish I would have had this knowledge back then! The more I learn now at 37, the more I realize how uneducated I was even with a college education. Some people must think I’m some sort of foil cap wearing weirdo. 😂
Steph, I loved watching this video today, as I sit here trying not to feel sorry for myself that I’m “officially overdue” with baby #9😂 I just love the granola recipe using discard, I’d never thought of that! I make big batches of granola the same way you do almost weekly here (my kids like it best with raw milk or as a yogurt parfait) but I’ll be trying the discard method for sure! Continued thoughts and prayers as you approach delivery day☺️💗 I’m rooting for you to have a girl because I’m having a girl and it’ll be my 2nd daughter as well 💖 Loved the birth facts at the end, nice to be reminded that babies come when they’re ready! I also loved hearing about your background in the study of midwifery, that’s so amazing! 🙏🏻💜
Just a few weeks behind you with our baby #5 and I love all deep dives! I’m sure all my young women friends have reached their limit of hearing me go down natural pregnancy and birth rabbit holes! 😅 But like you said, THERES JUST SO MUCH TO LEARN! In this age of information, women know surprisingly little about their own bodies. It feels like we need to unearth generations worth of wisdom that was lost!
Hello Mamita, just wanted to take a minute and say thank you for the videos. Love that I can find things to learn from! I have 16 kids and 9 grands - so far - I have what I call "Large family syndrome" 😂 and can't ever find very large recipes and ideas and since I don't "know people", it's nice to find you, here. 😊
I would love a full video of you rambling birth facts! 😂 I’m also due to have baby #5 at home any day or week now, and love getting in the right mindset for it and hearing ways to prepare from trusted sources. Best wishes to your fam!
Wow! What an amazing video! It is so cool that you went to midwifery school. I haven't had any children of my own. However, I was at some point a "birth junkie." I do agree. There is a LOT of witchcraft and sorcery and divination involving childbirth. However, the fun fact with baby's lungs signaling labor to start is one of my favorite stats to give ❤😍 Wishing you a happy and healthy delivery 😊
You explain recipes so well. I have tried your pain de mei recipe & I have to say your recipe is my favorite bread recipe. I'm currently looking to buy a KitchenAid stand mixer to make bread & gift it away. You are one of the hardest working woman I know. Thank you for the information you share with all of us. I am 66 & am learning so much from your videos. Blessings & hugs to you.❤
I fully recommend putting your freeze dryer somewhere that is very accessible and easy. HOWEVER, it should also be mentioned that they are NOISY. It's not just a quiet little hum either. It is a loud engine noise. We moved our washer and dryer into an unused space in our master bathroom so that we could create a spot for our freeze dryer in our laundry room (now a freeze dryer/storage room) but it is right off our kitchen without a door in between and it is very, very loud. We ended up buying a sound dampening blanket that we hang when it is in use because it is so noisy. I really do love having it so close as we used to have it out in a shed and it was difficult to use out there.
my great grandmother from the hills of West Virginia swore by hanging out her whites in the winter time to let them freeze on the line which makes them super white! 🤍
Week don’t mind the talk it is all a learning time for us. I love all the recipes. You are a wonderful person. It would be wonderful to see your home and the things you love. I know all about the cooking I also love to cook and bake I find it comforting and an art. Praying for you and baby.
I’m right there with you. Im five weeks away from my due date with my 5th child, a boy! My last two went over by a week according to the due date. I’m preparing for a home birth with my midwife and getting so excited! -Stephanie K
I was given p. And didn't dialate. Then off to spinal block to have a c-section. In the 90's. Was so naive! Glad you know and have had training in medical field. Pray all goes well for you and baby! Thank you for sharing!
Love your videos and can't wait for the little one! My big wish is also for a freezer dryer - I am saving but it's going to be a long time so I'll have to live vicariously through you!
You are so right about the pitocin! With my first baby, I was 41.5 weeks pregnant and they tried inducing me 2 different ways (orally & down there) and nothing worked! I’m convinced baby wasn’t ready to come out! Of course I didn’t know any better, it was 16 years ago!
I’m 37 weeks with our second baby and I love watching these videos with a bit of homemaking and a bit of nesting, though it was painful to see that incredible breakfast you made 😂 I am going to prep a big recipe of that granola for postpartum! I had never heard about baby’s lungs signifying maturity which is so cool and makes a lot of sense. Good luck with your prep for baby and thank you for the inspiring content!
The freeze dryer is loud, I would recommend putting it in the basement, makes it easier to run, it will go over night with things. I use mine all the time and having it be in the basement isn't bad. I have it close to the steps on a table
I can see us being best friends 😊 I think you are such an amazing mom. And I like when you get off topic and educate us 😊 So please continue these wonderful videos, and never change your bubbly personality 😊
I really enjoy your talks specially about holistic living pregnancy and cooking. I even enjoyed lithe video you made a few years back about vitex and your pregnancy story. Please keep sharing we enjoyed it all !
I could talk and listen about pregnancy, labor and birth all day!!! Or longer haha. I just had my 2nd homebirth and it went so well! Praying for you to have an enjoyable safe birth! Can't wait to hear more about how it all goes!!!
I am so happy to find your TH-cam channel I have been working a few weeks now trying to make a sour dough starter fail after fail. But this morning I finally see hope on day 3 after 12 hours my starter has risen all the way to the top… so I go ahead and remove half and feed it or wait until the 24 hours comes?
Love this video ❤ I LOVE talking about how amazing the female body is and all it does. Isn’t that amazing how baby is already communicating to Mama that He/She is ready to meet you?!!!💕 Blows my mind and reminds me how great God is to us! Maybe a future video about all these wonderful facts?
Omg I was just saying I wanted to find a good biscuits and gravy recipe bcs I made your discard cinnamon rolls and they reminded me of biscuits! And I’m so happy to see you! I was wondering if you had the baby already or not!🤣
Ohhhh you are gonna love the freeze dryer. We have a HarvestRight and two years ago we put up 75 lbs of freeze dried ground pork. No worries if the power goes out especially in summer!
I hope you were able to buy the large freeze dryer. We got the medium, family of four and I wish I would have gotten the large. I just did some strawberries and mixed veggies that were in the freezer for awhile. The strawberries are amazing❣️ you’re gonna love it!
Thank you so much for doing what you do. You inspire me so much! I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my fifth baby as well! and I'm wondering what your favorite cloth diapers are?
I LOVE my freeze dryer! My favorites have been strawberries, bananas, sourdough starter, and refried beans! The freeze dryer is pretty loud so you might want to put it down stairs it runs for over 24 hours sometimes
I'd love to know the chips you used on your granola at the end? They kinda looked like butterscotch chips, just curious they looked yummy and I didn't see it mentioned on your recipe on your blog. Super excited to give this a try!!
You are so busy and you are pregnant almost due to give birth, but you manage to continue on... hugs for you hun, its not easy to move around being in the late trimester of pregnancy as you know haha. Love your videos, those recipes are fantastic, I am so glad I found your channel. Hugs from Australia I hope you are feeling ok.
I love going through your old videos and learning all the things. It's interesting that you mentioned petocin used during childbirth. I was given that medicine with my first child and unfortunately I don't remember the birth at all. I ended getting so loopy and out of it. It still bothers me to this day, 9 years later that I can't remember anything. I'm not sure if its related to the petocin but I haven't had it with my other 2 children (I have three total).
I think you will love your freeze-dryer. I just made freeze-dried apple slices and my 2 year old grandchild, who likes apples (but not the skin) just inhaled the apple slices - with skin :)
I like to cut my biscuits into squares\triangles rather than use a cutter, too. I recently learned that if you trim the edges, also, they will rise evenly instead of being angled like that! The fresh cut releases the dough and allows it to rise 😊
Two questions about Wild! About how long does a refill for the deodorant last you, and what's your go-to/favorite scent!? Also, random decorating question, are those plates on the wall next to your dough? If so, how do you have them hanging!? I love the look of that, rather than a rack or shelf of some sort
Another not so fun fact: those oxytocin receptors in the uterus can basically be overwhelmed by Pitocin because oxytocin comes in natural waves rather than flooding like the synthetic version and it will numb the receptors…leading to a uterus that no longer wants to contract i.e. stalled labor and later on a hemorrhage. I can talk birth all day long and still be amazed at our body’s ability to bring forth life. I am 38 weeks and just waiting on my 4th to come on through. I am hoping for an undisturbed birth at home! Thanks for sharing the wonderful discard recipes!
Bless you (and yours ❤) for sharing this important truth that many don't know. Mama of four here, but only our first born was brought into this world in a hospital. My experience with pitocin was horrendous at best. Praying for you both, as you and your kiddos and husband's wait to meet your new family members! May the Creator guide and comfort you both through empowering, sacred, peaceful labor and birth journeys! You've got thisss!
Woah! Both my kids were induced with pitocin. The first was two weeks late, 24 hours of hard labor, and way too many hours pushing, stitches, the whole nine yards. It was hard and exhausting, and pitocin did NOT feel like what my body needed, but he turned out to be a healthy 10lb baby boy ❤ My second was induced two weeks early because my first was so big and I was 110lb frame at that point. She flew out of me in a few hours and felt so much more natural as I was already dilated some before the induction. She was an 8lb healthy baby girl.
I am on day 4 of preparing my mother sourdough following your recipe. I have been saving the discards and putting it in the fridge. My sourdough starter is very thick. is this because it is immature ? I have to discard and feed again tonight- I pray I can pull it thru , this is my first time! Thank you for your content ;)
I’m planning to try your sourdough biscuit recipe this weekend while I host company. I have some leftover buttermilk from a cake a baked, wondering if I could use that in place of milk?
Would love to see a video of how you feed your babies… BLW or making your own baby food. Very interesting to me as a first time mom of a baby about to begin eating. Want to feed him healthy meals 🫣🤗🤍 Love your videos!
I strip my towels every 6 months ❤I have that big freezer and I fill it up all summer for winter. We had and get a lot of snow. I love your down stairs under the house so BIG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻♀️🙏🏼🥰❤️
I want to learn all the things you know about birth! I just completed my doula training, and we had to go over the hospital interventions so we could be familiar with everything that might happen and 😤😤😤 i was getting SO MAD because every intervention seemed to be initiated because the attendants (dr, RN, etc) were getting anxious. Not really whether it was the right choice for the baby or mama at all!! One of the main reasons for late term c-sections seemed to be that they were just tired of waiting, although there was one birth we watched where the 40 week ultrasound showed "low amniotic fluid"... And the midwife really pushed the mom to get a c-section. Is it a thing for amniotic fluid to "run out" before the baby is fully developed?? Her water didnt break, they just thought it was time (That's the other thing that makes me mad ... They pressure moms to have their babies ON the due date or before, but the due date is a guess based on the conception date which is a guess based on how far along they guess the baby is when the mom first figures out she's pregnant - 3 GUESSES but they treat it like an actual deadline 😤😤) Please share all the natural birth resources you know! I'd love a reading list from the midwifery school you did. I don't think i want to be a midwife just yet, but i want to be able to educate moms who get scared by all the clinical interventions and pressure from mainstream healthcare.
I love your videos and hearing you talk. I'm excited to make your granola recipe. Can you confirm the amount of sunflower seeds - is it tablespoons or cups (2 T cup sunflower seeds/seeds of choice)? Thank you so much for your clarification. Praying for a good birth for Mom and baby.
Bless you darling hope the birth goes well I’m sure it will. I remember nesting with my 4 kids. Wow that shocked me witchcraft in midwifery. That I would like to hear more about. Sending love Lisa xx ❤❤ ps the granola looked amazing. Please could you share how to make sour dough starters and sour dough bread thankyou xxx ❤❤
I loooove all your videos and recipes!! And I just wanted you to keep talking when you talked about cloth diapering and birth! I was one of those mamas who got pitocin and it didn’t do anything. I ended up with a c section that I really had a hard time coping with. Please do more of these kinds of videos!! 💗
I’ve been reading that you have to wait 7 days once you make a new starter to use the discard? Is that really necessary? I’ve been saving my discard since day 1?

@@alislaughter9489it goes on smooth and works really well, I can say the 24 hour coverage has proven true for us!
Girl. I just made those biscuits to go with dinner tonight. The whole family fell on them like they hadn’t eaten in days. SO good!!!!
So glad you all liked them!

I’m a mamma of 5 too congratulations ❤-love your channel
Love the idea of putting discard into Granola and btw I am 51 years old and i love watching you prepare for your new baby and all the nursing education that you provide i.e. 'the baby signal has to be there for the birthing process to begin'' That is amazing! thanks so much.

Yes exactly!! We desperately need to reclaim the wisdom and knowledge that belongs to women in this realm!

My freeze dryer is in a spare room upstairs…it’s really not that loud at all. So much easier to get your food closer to the kitchen ! Nice video !
I’m due in 10 weeks and I’m going to a birth center, so I love the tangents! Helps ease the nerves:)
So excited for you!! My third baby was a birth center baby and it was such a nice change of pace after 2 hospitals births!

I just wanna say Thank you!

Maybe one day I’ll do a podcast for all of my off topic rants lol!
New to your channel.
Sent over from the channel “This Momma’s House.”
Your content is right up my alley 🥰
Hi! And welcome!
I like to cut my biscuits into squares\triangles rather than use a cutter, too. I recently learned that if you trim the edges, also, they will rise evenly instead of being angled like that! The fresh cut releases the dough and allows it to rise 😊
Great tip!
I am from the south…and we love our biscuits and gravy!
Ultimate comfort food!
Try using your sourdough starter as your thickener or roux, it's fantastic. ❤❤❤
Perfect!
Where did you get those tin and wooden bins that you have on your counter! Love them!
Best granola recipe yet!!!
I am really enjoying watching all your videos.
Yesss!!! So many adverse outcomes due to Pitocin being used off label 😞
It was hard and exhausting, and pitocin did NOT feel like what my body needed, but he turned out to be a healthy 10lb baby boy ❤
My second was induced two weeks early because my first was so big and I was 110lb frame at that point. She flew out of me in a few hours and felt so much more natural as I was already dilated some before the induction. She was an 8lb healthy baby girl.
Talk away I sure don't mind, you're a wealth of information. 💗💙
She truly is !!
Yes absolutely! Any time we have fresh butter I put buttermilk in everything!
Wow never thought to use my discard for granola! What a great idea! Thank you. ❤
Would love to see a video of how you feed your babies… BLW or making your own baby food. Very interesting to me as a first time mom of a baby about to begin eating. Want to feed him healthy meals 🫣🤗🤍 Love your videos!
We have always done BLW, so easy!
I strip my towels every 6 months ❤I have that big freezer and I fill it up all summer for winter. We had and get a lot of snow. I love your down stairs under the house so BIG 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙋🏻♀️🙏🏼🥰❤️
Yes I strip our towels regularly too, makes all the difference!
@@HopewellHeights right ! I love doing it….. they just feel so clean
If you can get the vegetable OKRA it helps to lubricate the body. Helps the baby slip out. Also for joints and everything.
If you have the oil pump for the freeze dryer, have it upstairs, but if you have the oil free(not recommended) have it downstairs because it’s loud!
Although I can no longer have children, I love learning! Share away!!!
Wow! That’s a nice space downstairs!
Lots of space, lots of mess too!! Can’t wait to get it all organized!
I love your floors! What kind of wood is it?
Her water didnt break, they just thought it was time
(That's the other thing that makes me mad ... They pressure moms to have their babies ON the due date or before, but the due date is a guess based on the conception date which is a guess based on how far along they guess the baby is when the mom first figures out she's pregnant - 3 GUESSES but they treat it like an actual deadline 😤😤)
Please share all the natural birth resources you know! I'd love a reading list from the midwifery school you did. I don't think i want to be a midwife just yet, but i want to be able to educate moms who get scared by all the clinical interventions and pressure from mainstream healthcare.
So interesting learn so much from you!
Praying for you and baby and family ❤
Thank you!
Tablespoons!! Thank you for pointing that out, just fixed it! 😊
Thanks for the information. ALL IS WELL, Talk if you want, love to listen to wisdom. STTB*SHARED TO THE BURGH*Pittsburgh PA
Do you have a sourdough scone recipe? I love everything sourdough.
I'm currently on my sourdough starter journey.
I do! I just shot the video and photos so it will be published in the next couple of weeks 😊
Awesome. I can't wait.
I'm obsessed with your content.. so thank you for sharing your wisdom/life. I appreciate it.
Hi! If you search “Hopewell heights sourdough” in the TH-cam search bar you’ll see all of my tutorials for starter!
Hi! I love your videos! I have a silly question can you elaborate more on what witchcraft you were talking about?
If you look up “midwitchery” you’ll find some good info on what it is!
I love love love it wh3n you share all your interesting facts ❤❤
I loooove all your videos and recipes!! And I just wanted you to keep talking when you talked about cloth diapering and birth! I was one of those mamas who got pitocin and it didn’t do anything. I ended up with a c section that I really had a hard time coping with. Please do more of these kinds of videos!! 💗
Absolutely great video, thank you
I am so glad I found you!
Hi!
I love your videos I'm always learning something new.Can you please do some more midwifery videos they are really helpful.
It’s so exciting, I’m hoping girl also.
Fun facts! Woohoo! I love it!
“Cannot serve husband potatoes without cheese.” Isn’t that the truth!! 😂😂 mine always says “there is no such thing as ‘too much cheese’” 😂
super great video ! 👍
Thank you
Could someone tell me do you leave your discard on the counter or in the refrigerator that you are going to be using the next day?
I just found you and I made a sourdough today
I’ve been reading that you have to wait 7 days once you make a new starter to use the discard? Is that really necessary? I’ve been saving my discard since day 1?
Love you girl!! ♥
I noticed you keep your fresh eggs out on the counter. How long can you keep them out for? Just started getting farm fresh eggs.
Yes we do! We go through them sooo fast but if they are unwashed I believe that will stay good at room temp for at least 3-4 weeks
Enjoyed the video 😊
