Thanks for that Keith, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love music and have played in my time a mouthorgan, guitar, keyboard, panpipes, but I must add, not very well, but, I enjoy it. I once made a woman cry with my playing of the guitar and singing "I'm no body's child", unknown to me she had just lost a child, I felt awful, so that was the end of my guitar playing that day!!!
Hi Keith, I mainly tune-in for your steam content but I find your keyboard and recording segments interesting as well. I find your voice soothing and honestly I could listen to you read the phone book. Hope you are feeling well
Brilliant!!!!!! You are as good as anyone I’ve dealt with, hiring musicians for 50 years at my saloon. You are incredible. Cannot believe you are not a studio musician, or drawing hundreds of thousands in musical copyrights. Certainly, the things you create could be written into songs… as I listen to you, I’m blown away by your expertise in all idioms of music. Your classical stuff is awesome. But, after seeing your equipment, maybe you have made millions through your music. Certainly , you have made hundreds of thousands to pay for this equipment. I would venture to say your music videos would be as popular as your steam train videos, so please continue these. I’ve enjoyed this video more than any I’ve seen you make. 😅😅
Fascinating. Thank you. As a musician, I enjoyed this video very much. I have a two manual Kimbal organ I seldom play. I play bluegrass banjo, mandolin and guitar. I sing mostly old country and bluegrass tunes. I don’t write music. Where can I find some of your work?
I thoroughly enjoyed that video, but I am a musician. It is interesting to find another muso who is also a locomotive addict. I am wanting a korg too. Électronics is not really my thing but when shown how to i can enjoy using such. Next time I am at steam workshop or in locale i will ask to see if you are free to meet. Stuart
Well that was a superb little interlude in an evening of work! Thank you Keith, though I do now have a major case of gear envy... that SV1 is a lovely thing. A lass I know has one for live work, and I'm consistently amazed by how good the Rhodes sounds are, even down to the amount of bite you get when you start to dig in to the keys a little. Lovely studio setup! How are you finding the KRKs? I recently(ish - about 2 years ago) bought a set of Rokit 5s which are quite nice, but I find they are a little too low end heavy for accurate mixing. I've since switched to a set of Yamaha HS5s which are more transparent, but the rear firing bass ports are somewhat less convenient, but such is the way of compromises.
Yes the KRK Speakers are bass heavy, I found an EQ setting on the speakers that improved matter considerably. But for me they are only OK as monitors for my Video voiceovers.
I originally came here for the Hammond organ stuff, stayed for the steam. Love the studio - I call mine The Museum Of Forgotten Technology.

Cheers for this Keith. You've recorded many of my favourite bands at your studio.
How'd you end up as a specialist in recording so many metal artists?
I don't know really ...... after Recording the album Gothic with Paradise Lost, it sort of spiralled . . . . . }:-)))
@@keithappletonMust be the northern metal mafia
A Northern Black Metal Specialist back in the day }:-)))
Have you still got the C3?
No, i programmed the Nord Electro 5D to give the sound that wanted and it is nowhere near the weight of a C3 . . . . .
