    I made a gy6 carburetor video years ago when there really wasn’t much info about them. It got a lot of views. I probably called some things the wrong name and wat not; still don’t have a complete understanding on what changing positions on the needle do. a minivan ran me off the road and I haven’t rode a scooter in many years lol! Anyways, I’m glad your making videos for this stuff. It’s very informative, you’re quite knowledgeable and do it cool. I wanted to get into this type of stuff back in the day, but priority’s have changed. Great job!

    I just wanna say the reason you aren't able to rev out the dome top piston is because it has more compression, probably around 11:1. This means you need to run either less ignition timing or higher octane fuel.

    I would take apart that rocker arm and check the oil passages are drilled correctly I have had 4 of my customer's motors fail, from the oil passage on the intake side not being big enough it seems maybe there doing it as a way to know the motor will fail rather quickly. Check it out I would love to see how the oil passages look in this motor, ya if that hole in the rocker arm assembly is not flowing all it can then it's downhill quickly if you're running them hard and hot. would love to see some roller rockers with a nice thick tight tolerance housing. I have seen them online hard to get your hands on. Well here is your next custom fab part Rollerrollingwrenchrockers.

      I just run 1/4 rubber hose from the valve cover, down the top of the transmission, and let it breath off the back end.
      You can use zip ties or install metal hose clamps to hold it to the transmission.
      It blows a tiny amount out, but not enough to worry with daily. Maybe lose a teaspoon of oil a week.

    Hi, I'm from Philippines, I'm GY6 user 125cc, can you please help me if I upgrade my 125cc to 155cc (58.5) what are the best camshaft and valve for intake and exhaust and what valve spring etc.

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stay stock 150 parts.
      (57.4mm bore)
      You can get top end rebuild kits for $75.
      Stock camshaft @ $20.
      Dont put performance valve spings in unless you want a kicker only engine.
      The tight springs will be too tight for a factory starter to roll the engine over.
      There is stainless valves you can install, but its cheaper to just buy a whole new assembled engine head for $30

  • @BUILDNIGHT
    @BUILDNIGHT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why did you replace the starter?

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Often if you raise the piston size or put harder valve springs in the factory starter is too weak to roll the engine over.
      Theres a bigger aftermarket version to be installed or the bike becomes kick start only.

    Question? Is it possible to swap a stock 200cc scooter engine with a 90cc engine? I am a beginner to scooters. I wanted to start to a lower phase before going with higher speed. If it is possible, where can I buy a 90cc engine from Honda or Kawasaki? I hope that someone could direct me to the right direction. Thanks in advance.

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      GY6 engines are 2 sizes : 49cc & 149cc. Long or short case.
      They do not interchange without frame modifications & welding.
      Probably better to buy the scooter size you want verses modify

  • @Roland-Henry

    Are the oil stick decompression tubes bad if you are running say, an NCY oil cooler? It seems logical the oil lines being relieved of much needed compression to run their path, would be negatively impacted by the additional decompression. Thanks for any help.

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just hump vent your valve cover, in a 1/4" hose to the top back of the cvt cover.

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Melt downs are caused by too much air.
      Running lean or otherwise dry conditions.
      Allways err rich when tuning engines

    • @noneshere
      @noneshere 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oil pressure is maintained by being submerged. The decompression tube works on relieving the air pressure off the top of the oil. Not below the oil. Its just an expansion chamber for the oil to move up into when the piston is pumping hard at higher rpms. Most stock size engines dont need them. Usually they have a hose from the valve cover to the carburetor intake.
      The carburetors vacuum pulls any oil spit into the engine & burns it. But I dont like that oil messing with my tuned carburetor. So, you can also relieve crankcase pressure at the valve cover by routing a 1/4" rubber hose to it, down the transmission top, & over the rear end with zip ties.
      That way the crankcase breaths with the piston pumping, but if it spits a little oil it wont land on my rear tire. It just blows it out on the ground behind me.
      Its like a mist of oil, its not really liquid that gets pushed out. Maybe a teaspoon a week top off oil needed....but ONLY gas & air go through my carburetors, no oil is needed there.

      That 5 position placement is pretty much standard for all ringed pistons.
