    Approximately how much hp would you anticipate too get after a good dyno/tune? I have ordered a few bolt on’s from you and I have been very pleased with the results, however I’m really really ready to just go to a greater platform and this looks like a great replacement? But I don’t want to spend a bunch more with results that give me 3-5hp gains more than bolt on’s I put on my 171cc? But if I’m gonna get hp with performance results and maintain a quality build I obviously rather get the crate. Think this build can sustain 15hp? And how about a 4 valve add on would that give any edge in any manner? I’d like to get my GY ready before the summer time in California hits 06/2021 it’s already almost 02/2021

    On stock oil pumps there is an arrow, should it point up or down? I found stock oil pumps here in Europe that is thicker, and to mount it I had to get that kind of bolts you are using, because stock mine had 8mm bolt heads which did not fit. So much variations on these chinese engines!

    As for Carb have you tried a Mikuni TM28-418 in the GY6 engines? I saw someone say the TM24 was the best for stock

      The only problem with a turbo on one of these is that a single cylinder 4 stroke doesn't generate enough exhaust to really effectively spool a turbo.

      An expansion chamber on the intake side with EFI has a chance for sure to work and work well enough to make additional power. And if done right, reliable additional power.

    Can I ask some questions? Can you suggest some tuning parts for Yamaha Majesty 250cc engine (YP250)?
    This is what I found about the engine.
    The Yamaha Linhai VOG (LH170MM) (LH173MN) is a quality, horizontal, single-cylinder, 4 stroke, liquid cooled, SOHC engine. This is a very common engine found in many scooters, quads, ATVs, buggies, and mopeds. The VOG 250 has a displacement of 249cc with a bore of 69mm and a stroke of 66.8mm. The VOG 260 has a displacement of 257cc with a bore of 70mm and a stroke of 66.8mm. The VOG 300 has a displacement of 275cc with a bore of 73mm and a stroke of 66.8mm. The transmission for all is a CVT automatic transmission. All use electric start.
    Some of the models and brands using this engine include the Aprilia Leonardo 250, Aprilia Leonardo 300, Benelli Velvet 250, Diamo Turista, Italjet Jupiter 250, JCL, VOG 260, Linhai Aeolus, Linhai ATV 260, Malaguti Madison 250, Malaguti Password 250, MBK Kilibre 300, MBK Skyliner 250, Renault Kouranos 250, Roketa MC-54 250B, Xingyue VOG 260, Yamaha Majesty 250 (mod. 1999), Yamaha Majesty 250 (mod. 2000), Yamaha Versity 300, Yamaha X-City 250, Yamaha X-Max 250, Yamaha XC 300 and others...

    Love the video, leaves me with a few questions... Do you offer the 4 valve head? And if so what sizes are available as they seem to be very sparse online... My enigine is a B-case 232 1P57QMJ... a9 cam. Would I be wasing my time trying to chase power by adding a on a 4 valve head and an EFI system? What performance gains would I be expecting? not just power but reliability) All I need is the head and EFI. I also want to do a short stroke to raise max rpms, do you sell that as well? I can't find kits to shorten the stroke.. Should I just shave the piston?. Lastly Ive been scouring the net in an attempt to find a desmodromic vavle and cam kit... Do you know of anyone building such a kit/head already? I know its much but any help would be amazing for my project.

  • @clint9648
    @clint9648 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I enjoy your videos, they are informative and interesting. However I must question why you continue with the GY6? I mean as far as 150cc engines go, it's a terribly inefficient design. The head has poor flow (single valves), all attached accessories must be upgraded (oil pump, starter, fuel pump etc etc). No watercooling. Horrible clutch etc. It seems a waste.
    I'm living in Asia, the Yamaha T150 and Honda RS150 engines are widely used and modified. They are efficient engines, easy and cheap to upgrade. There are so many options for bore kits, cams, cranks, ecu's etc that require very little modification to the actual engine.
    Example I have a 177cc stage 4 T150, putting out around 30hp. A GY6 can't get close to that efficiency.

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Turbo will be a fun experiment. No body has really documented it on what works and what doesn’t. That’s my role. I hope to solve the single cylinder issue with a air capacitor..... we will see. If I fail the world will know why.

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as why GY6. They are cheap, and the industry revolves around them. Simply

    • @clint9648
      @clint9648 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RollingWrench That's odd to me, in all my time in Asia I haven't seen a GY6 engine anywhere. By the time you upgrade everything, I don't think they are cheap at all - certainly not for price:hp ratio.
      Just seems to me that your skill is a bit wasted on these engines, would love to see you move on from the gy6

    • @michaelhusted3131
      @michaelhusted3131 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Recognizing that nothing is impossible, fitting an RS150 into a Ruckus would be extremely challenging. The oil sump mounts at a very different angle, it uses a transmission instead of a CVT, and the rear suspension is not integral with the motor. Does anyone know at what HP CVTs blow up? My guess is it's less than 30 so there's that too. I'd like to see RW try. They are much better engines than a GY6.
