Looks like a wood drill with slightly shallower angles. Cool stuff!

Hi my my name is Kevin from Aus the drill you made is a slot drill with a drill centre on it so the drill will enter it self the od of the drill Will drill the hole to a correct size you can drill the hole in the mill with not changing any cutter l have used the same methods as you have it worked well Kevin mechanical engineer of 56 years .

Only problem is that this geometry will last a few holes in steel and then you need to resharpen it. Those tiny tips aren't supported by much more than a hope. You've come up with a solution to a problem which doesn't exist, because what you really want to use is a step drill. They are cheap, readily available and (from personal experience) can be abused a lot more than you'd expect. In cases when a step drill won't work because there's no space underneath a hole (say 20mm hole in 25mm square profile where you have 30mm of drill sticking out beyond the 20mm level), you can chop off as much of the tip as you need. There are also regular steel drills with a solid centering shaft in the middle instead of a cutting point. They are made for countersinking the holes of socket head screws, but do require you to pre-drill the center hole.

Thank you for your tip, I'm interested in learning your technique and I agree with you that it drills a more perfect round hole. Please show me your technique and thank you in advance. I appreciate your knowledge and will use it to increase my skills, thank you

And you created the Woodowl OverDrive drill bit...it just has an added chamfered edge on the outer tip of the drill bit...important for the exit hole when drilling wood.

just put a piece of rag between the drill bit and the steel plate when drilling. Boom, perfectly round hole. No joke.

Well, es scheint a bit tricky to grind, clearly a kind of hole drill, almost like a Forstner.
To those who say something negative, I say;" well, it's one way of getting a good result from a bad drill"... Funktioniert?
