Outstanding restoration of the axe and the creation of the handle!! You have an excellent mastery of multiple mediums to achieve such a phenomenal result!!! Well done sir!!! The Old Army Scout… thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!!!
Outstanding craftsmanship in restoration. I only wish that I was 1/10th as talented and skilled as you. The one thing I would say is, in the States we would call that a hatchet because of the short handle. Again, beautiful work!
@@nospam3409 I saw the one piece, for sure, that had the grain running in the wrong direction, but it’s laminated and I saw most were running lengthwise so it could be slightly weaker, but I think it’ll be ok.
I liked the checker board look of the wedge and handle top . Love the handle thanks for the video . I’m going to make some handles like that for my hammers .
My friend, I am a simple person, like the ax I made, Anthony is Anthony and I am Behnam. I hope you will be successful in all stages of your life, my friend.❤️😃
Very nice dedication and workmanship. This axe looks like an old Nordland Cruising Axe. I have one that is about 50 years old (I bought it new). As such, I would have chosen to haft it with a handle about twice as long. Cruising axes are lightweight two-handed axes.
I’ve never done a full restoration on any tools but I have brought plenty back to a working life. I have found it’s easier to remove a little at a time, I know if I hit a tool with steel wool many time I don’t have to do much after
What a beautiful transformation! You’ve given the axe head a new long lease of life and created a wonderful new handle too…safety first in that respect given the state of the old handle I imagine. In creating that handle you’ve shown me a process that I hadn’t seen before, thank you!
Kudos. Absolutely beautiful. As a professional knife sharpener, I've done some minor restoration work. I don't have the $25,00] dollars of equipment that you have!😅 Its definitely the most valuable axe I've ever seen.
My grandfather had an axe once owned by Abraham Lincoln. The handle had been replaced a couple times and the blade once or twice but other then that it was all original.

I believe the making of the handle was more amazing than the head.... But it was all so great. Very therapeutic to watch that being done. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!😀❤
Just amazing. The stuff most people would throw away. The axe is just beautiful, I can see it hanging on the wall of my cabin.
