Lmao y’all are right. I was supposed to offset the hallways so the gap wouldn’t be so small. Idk how I didn’t catch that after 2 weeks of working on this video.
@@MandRproductionsRyan, maybe I missed it in the video, but why were 3 builds required to make the enclosed version? Can you not just mirror one to enclose the hallway? Without the doorway of course.
@@MandRproductions That's honestly such an eye-opening statement even though it's so obvious yet I had never thought of it. They literally just want clout and free stuff. Cannot be bothered to go out of their way for content. Call me glazing or whatever but your channel is the best when it comes to Lego
I'm definitely buying 2, but I wasn't sure how i would combine them. Now that i see a normal one and mirrored one together that looks freaking awesome, I'm definitely doing that
Thank you for this video and we just completed the 2x hallway in the way you presented. My son and I are having epic battles. To my amazement he loves this more than any other Lego set. And we have a lot!
Still waiting for my two sets to arrive to start experimenting myself. My idea to expand much simpler. I was planning to widen the floor to equal the full width of the end wall-eliminate the play feature that launches the mini figs to keep clean. Then extend the length of wall by two sections. I may have to pull a few pieces from my stock, but I just think expanding it width and length a little, would look great.
It may be easier for some people to build both sides (normal and mirrored) together at the same time, rather than just trying to follow the instructions but inverting the sides for the one build separately. I usually end up doing this with sets with symmetrical sections. Especially ships with mirrored port and starboard sides (Razor Crest, Republic Gunship, etc). It's pretty easy to build off the instructions normally, and then place the same pieces on the mirrored portion.
Love the variations of the different builds you did and this style of video. Also deffinatly hit me mentally in thinking if other building possibilities. Thanks for sharing this one.
I have bought 2 to expand, but I bought a build only from ebay, which I plan to use for parts to make the corridors longer on each side and create a corner where I can create a corner in the hallway.
I think making them more like taking two sets and playing them side by side facing the same direction and slightly modified is the way to go. Creating the first hallway running into a second closed door. Then making a third closed door with a hallway that turns left (making the back end of that wall facing away from the build or facing the right of the majority of the build).
I like the balance you've struck as a builder, where you upgrade sets, as we all know what happens when you try to build a purely original MOC... Rip Hoth for the 4th or 5th time.
I feel like these enclosed hallways would look so cool in a table of some sort, like the ones that hold the ucs falcon. It would be awesome to have a top down view where the entire table is filled with hallways
I did exactly this with 2 sets of the Dark Trooper corridor - I had them with the walls at the back and I also didn't like the 'gaps' or the doorways so i put in black doors! Looks great 😊
Ask MandR: Do you keep sets in their original form or do you modify them and display them like that, just in this video! Btw thank you so much for including me in the last Ask MandR!
the mirrored version was my first instinct as well, looks great, your combination of 3 looks very nice and immersive as well. overall like the more creative videos
I really like this series of combining multiple sets is really cool and is different compared to your usual content, I think you should try doing smaller Mocs since Hoth has proven you can't do a big moc and these videos show your pretty good at making small Mocs.
I would do the mirrored build myself. I think its the best and cleanest way to display the set. Tho I would remove the whole technic structure to make it more asthetic as well as removing one of the side doors and replacing it by another panel section.
You can also just stick to buying one set, then buy the pieces you need off of pick-a-brick online. You do miss out on the minifigs and sticker sheet. But as of now as it will sit not discounted, buying the extra parts to make a complete hallway might be cheaper. Once this set goes on sale later in the year or next year. Then I would probably say it is more worth it to just buy the set, and it is more convenient.
For the mirrored build, I'm not sure if it would work but if you downloaded the building instructions you should be able to mirror the pages. That would theoretically make it easier to build.
I'm only going to build one for now(found it at Kohl's myself), and display it under the midi Tantive IV. I like the idea of the extended hallway mirrored build best though.
Yeah went to the store last week for the first time in like 2 years for the Walmart thats by me saw that lego set got it a few days later mainly just for Fives
Hey Ryan its nice to see you include your brother in this video. I always like seeing that moustached guy pop up here and there. Bringing the M back to MandR, love it.
I’m wondering if it’d be possible to get two sets and only get the required pieces you’d need from BrickLink that you’d get from a 3rd set that way you wouldn’t have too many unused pieces.
3:37 Ngl i just downloaded the pdf instructions online from the lego website and stuck em into an online website that mirrors your pdfs and it worked out perfect for me
I have been wondering which diorama set(s) and how many Tantive hallways one would have to purchase in order to turn the Tantive hallway into a proper looking 18+ diorama display set that could sit next to the likes of Yoda's hut and Palpatine's throne room.
Ask MandR: Do you think that we will get Star Wars sets from the extended universe like we did with the rouge shadow? I personally would love a Star Wars republic commando set. Or at least an anniversary figure from the game.
I'm watching this and the more and I see this I imagine .. yes have all the walls and door(s) down one side but keep the other side open but keep the columns because you want this as a display piece and you want people to look at it from multiple perspectives. I'm now very tempted to do my own version.
I'm using this hallway set to make a custom stand for the mini Tantive IV. It's the Tile-(R)-Tom mod. The stand will feature the scene in A New Hope on the Tantive IV where Vader is choking out Captain Antilles with the ship on a 360 swivel above it.
I usually don’t modify sets but I might get two or three and try to do the hall way like how the hasbro TVC Tantive hall way looks where it’s opened on one side and wraps around the corner.
Mirror build very nice. Although, get rid of the trans colored bits for entryway on the right. And have 3PO and R2 in the middle somewhere, crossing through the firefight.
Hi Ryan, great video. I'm definitely going to do the mirrored version. That looks sweet. Thank you for a great video. and nice to "meet" your brother Matt.
Interesting 3-set build. Initially, I was thinking of doing something similar to your 2-set 'mirror' build...but, then I saw someone else's 3-set build (completely different than yours), and it gave me an idea. I haven't purchased them yet (May is just around the corner), so I have time to work on other projects (LEGO, as well as RC).
I’m definitely thinking about getting 2 of these to make the mirror build and recreating the rogue one scene of Vader just smoking the rebel troopers 😂😂😂
awesome Vid as always my man and very well done! hope you enjoying the Match 1st drops and that all is well! take care and as always…. keep on bricking
what I would do if I had 4 of those sets: you made a mirrored one, what if you also mirror that one. And connect it. So it's like a double hallway, not only in length, but also in with. And if you place it; so you look at it from the "opening doors" it would look really cool.
Lmao y’all are right. I was supposed to offset the hallways so the gap wouldn’t be so small. Idk how I didn’t catch that after 2 weeks of working on this video.
Either way I highly recommend mirroring or creating a full hallway!
@@MandRproductions I’m hoping someone uploads the mirrored instructions online
@@MandRproductionsRyan, maybe I missed it in the video, but why were 3 builds required to make the enclosed version? Can you not just mirror one to enclose the hallway? Without the doorway of course.
@@welcometothejungl3you can but you’d have 2 doors which I didn’t want.
@@MandRproductions Yeah I was thinking take a second set and essentially just add the wall to the other end of the doorway from the first set.
Slowly Ryan will be able to improve his MOC skills and maybe just maybe he can complete a full MOC one day
💀
He may one day attempt to build Hoth again 😥🙏
Hoth
@hoth
We are who we all are and Ryan simply isn't a finisher of MOC's.
Adding Leia, C-3PO, and R2-D2 on the open side door would look amazing!
Only MandRproductions would have an Alternate Build video released before the official release of the set.
I mean all the LAN tubers won’t even pay for a LEGO set soooo
@@MandRproductions Yeah they wouldn't care about it if they had to pay like everyone else.

Buddy you combined it wrong from the instructions, I just didn't have the heart to tell you IRL at 1:24 when I visited.
Be a better friend man..
Yeah what an awful friend...
I like to imagine Matt commented this.
Dang that's a big brain move right there.

The mirrored one looks really good
Yeh
I think buying two and mirroring one is the best option out of those three
I'm definitely buying 2, but I wasn't sure how i would combine them. Now that i see a normal one and mirrored one together that looks freaking awesome, I'm definitely doing that

The mirrored option is the way to go for me. Though on the second copy, i would eliminate the trans orange and red pieces to make it look clean
Yep, and remove one of the open doorways
1:30 threw me off 😂😂I just image mandr recording two clips of himself for that

Honestly here is my idea....make one side look like the outside skin of the blockade runner. Can you make a video of that?

Grandad always said that a Hallway moc in the hand was worth two unfinished Hoth mocs in the basement.
There should be a R2, C-3PO, and Leia escape pod attachment set
