Man this song is so underrated cause it doesn’t play a lot. It will forever be the best song in the game to me and is easily the highlight of edelgards route for me.
My favorite scene in CF is probably the exclusive Dimitri/Dedue conversation at Taltean Plains. And it doesn't even get a CG or animation because CF cuts corners everywhere D:
I've always hated the line "Goodbye King of Delusion", not because it doesn't fit Dimitri as a title, but more so because he doesn't do anything to deserve being called that on Edelgard's route. The Dimitri shown here is significantly less unhinged than the other routes. He's compassionate about the lives being lost here, and actually cares about his allies. It really feels like he's just defending his home. I think it would of worked much better if it was made clear that Dimitri has the option to surrender, but his obsession with Edelgard stops him from doing it. I don't know if that would of worked, but the way it is now just makes me like the route less. I'm all for having questionable battles in a war game, it's compelling. But it feels like that's all you do on Edelgard's route, and her calling him that in this context doesn't do anything to win me over.
This comment is genuinely top tier. The title fits perfectly for Golden Deer/Silver Snow and Blue Lions. But, in Golden Deer and in the Crimson Flower for the most part he is referred to as the Tempest King. For the most part Three Houses' Crimson Flower route didn't do much to characterize Dimitri's obsession with Edelgard. The line "Goodbye King of Delusion", is in response to the first time Dimitri and Edelgard have confronted each other since the Officer's Academy. There was no parley scene like there was in Blue Lions. Therefore we don't see a desperate Dimitri consumed with hate for the most part. He for the most part is fighting to protect his Kingdom and their beliefs.
If you listen to Edelgard's monologue after you kill Dimitri -- he was being manipulated by TWSITD in her route. Cornelia never needed to coup him because he was convinced by Arundel's explanation that Edelgard directly caused the Duscur tragedy. He was deluded by virtue of being mislead. Remember that Cornelia is Dimitri's advisor in Crimson Flower. She never coups him and works to mislead him like Lambert and Rufus. Then TWSITD dropping the javelins on Arianrhod seals the deal. Recall that the Kingdom thinks Edelgard specifically ordered that during Crimson Flower, when that was Arundel trying to kill HER instead.

Cornalia is not Dimitri's advisor in CF nor was she advisor to Dimitri's dad or anyone else, she was a mage who was given a job after she saved Fhirdiad from a plague during Lambert's rule, but not an advisor. 2. Dimitri didn't become a fugitive in CF *only* because Rhea/knights of Seiros joined the kingdom which is why Dimitri's uncle was never killed by Cornelia like every other path thus destroying Dimitri's life in jail & later as a fugitive. In CF she wasn't allowed to do that because Rhea/knights joined the kingdom. 3. Dimitri was never manipulated by Arundal, he never even talked to him in CF, Dimitri has every right to hate Edel & want her death based solely on her actions. Dimitri as he is in all paths knows that the Agarthans killed his family & also knows flame emperor (their leader) is Edelgard, so she is as guilty of their crimes past & present as they are because she is the leader, she enables them, protects them & even funds them. Another point is Edelgard's imperialist conquest of the Kingdom & Alliance, in CF Edelgard is the aggressor & Dimitri is the defender. In fact Edel is the one being manipulated by Arundal without knowing, he molded her into his vision from a young age; the experimentations on her was to create a "Nabateans killer" who can use the sword of the creator to kill them, Arundal also fed her & the past emperors false history/info while infeltrating the empire since inception. So in general the story needs to be paid attention to & to play all paths to get the right info, even the last interview (16 pages) should be read to understand the story more.

The reason why CF is the only route where Dimitri don't go insane is because Dedue is alive. if you look closely every other route Dedue is dead/presumed dead. Dedue was the one keeping him in check.

Not to "well actually" 🤓 but it's more that he wasn't framed for his uncle's assassination and left to die, CF is the only route where he ascends the throne before the end of the game

If Eldelgard actually told Dimitri about her plan he'd likely be on board. She even had the perfect opportunity to when they met outside Enbar but, no she decided that it would've been a bad idea, instead of telling him about the enemy that lurks below she just let them turn her into a monster.
@@ilikegames828 Well, it is actually stablish that Edelgard has some big trust issues, to the point the deciding factor between going full nuts, or keep her humanity, is making a friend in Byleth, that open her up to others as well. The only person of trust in her life is Hubert, who is basically a very willing servant, not even a friend. Everything else, traitors, nobles, psychos, a weak father that look but couldnt do anything, and her uncle, who "sold" her to do experiments and created in her throught trauma some serious messiah complex. I would have been quite cool seeing a scene where Edelgard realize that, if she would have tried to reach Dimitri since the beginning, it would have work. But she has been living isolated in an echo chamber, were only heard her own mental farts and the words of the hidden enemy. Dimitri was more flexible in character, so he is the one who actually realized that fact, just to late to really make a difference.

hm i love this music and all but this CG wasnt it only on blue lions campaign where you cannot hear the song at all?
The only time you can hear it on the Azure Moon route is if an enemy makes it to Claude in the chapter he makes his last appearance in.
