I don’t think co-pastoring with equal authority is biblical. However, I think that the wife should have equal respect. Because she belongs to her husband, his title extends to her. Not necessarily all of his authority. So I don’t think it’s wrong to call the wives pastor although they are not. Such as a Queen is a Queen because of her husband. Also, I believe it’s beneficial for the wife of the pastor to be a leader among women. Wives of pastors have a greater role because of who their husbands are.
I think that the title of the video is sexist and degrades every woman pastor. I also believe that you’re taking the word of God out of context and applying it to one very specific scenario. Just because there’s no history of this very specific thing being done doesn’t mean it won’t work. Before airplanes, there were no history of people going on something that could fly, yet here we are and there are a ton of different types of aircraft. I decided to unsubscribe to you because at this point I don’t know if you’re a false teacher or not.
Aquila and Priscilla? (Point 1) 2 shall Become 1. In addition...Overseer Is a higher position than pastor in several denominations thus the scripture not pertinent towards pastoralship. Next verse, if we look outside as suggested in your video, we know that this was a letter to a specific church. He said in other scriptures written that he was greeting and supporting female pastors. (point 2) Not valid point 3 (see responses to Point 1 and 2) I encourage you to read a handmaidens conspiracy by Donna Howell
As Christians, there will be topics we DISAGREE on, but let’s AGREE to look to the BIBLE for answers. Whether you agree with Allen or not, he does a good job explaining and showing Biblical support for his position. Keep up the good work Allen!
*The thing to remember is the Bible is a history book. It's something to be read, studied and understood but we can't live by standards set thousands of years ago. Their way of life was completely different from ours. Even the Bible acknowledges that.*
Being the wife of a pastor is already a recognizable and important role in any church. I remember at my church, when I was a young child, we had a visitor show up. She was a broken woman and looked like she was in desperate need of help. While the pastor was praying, the visitor went up to the altar. I know how nerve wrecking that must have been for her being new there and all by herself and being in such a desperate condition. I remember so clearly seeing the pastor’s wife walk all the way from the back of the church up to the altar and all she did was just put her arm around the visitor. Almost instantaneously, the visitor started hysterically crying and nearly fell over, with just the pastor’s wife holding her up and supporting her. It really had an impact on me as a young child, seeing the grace of my pastor’s wife who recognized a woman in need of a helping hand. And the assurance that she had in her role as the lady of the church, to be there for this woman, to just rest her arm around her and let her know there was someone else there who loved her. I remember thinking to myself that was the kind of woman I wanted to grow up to be. A pastor’s wife is a powerful, beautiful, incredible and impactful role in and of itself. There’s no need to try to validate it further when it speaks for itself.
Every good pastor I have known was supported by an amazing wife who filled the role of supporting his ministry rather than attempt to claim it as hers as well. I don't believe they would have stood nearly as strong in the faith had they not had a godly wife fulfilling the unique role of a wife on his behalf.

Yes. My pastors wife which we call “pastora” is very nice too. Pastors means paster but for women. I don’t see her as the head because all the decisions come from our pastor. She also doesn’t do anything without letting her husband know.
What if the case against women in the pulpit is based more on the culture of the Catholic Church than on the Bible? Are you aware that, in Romans 16, Paul commends a female deacon named Phebe, a female apostle named Junia and a husband-wife pastoral/ministry team of Priscilla and Aquila? For the record, the qualifications to be a deacon are identical to those of a pastor, accordimg to 1 Timothy 3.
People want to be called Christian but they don’t want to accept what the scriptures have to say. The Bible is pretty straightforward for the most part. People get stuck on what they think is “fair” and not what God wants. The Words says His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. We are to conform to HIM and obey His ways, not the other way around.
Almost all in the Bible, there are stories, parables, etc where God wants us to learn insights from it .In the same way God wants us to learn that as man is considered a leader and a woman a helper with different responsibilities, God should be head and not us in same level
Please show scripture of any “pastor” having authority over a group of believers. These pastors today control everything that goes on in church. They are not “overseers” they are overlords.
Why is it so hard for YOU to walk a perfect and blameless life just like Jesus? GOD called YOU to be perfect as He is perfect! So if you are not walking a perfect life, what is your major malfunction? Whatever reason you give for your imperfections, that is the reason why these people are imperfect also! try to show a little empathy and humility.
I am in a church with husband-and-wife pastors. What I am wondering is if the husband pastor is the primary pastor and he delegates authority to his wife to be a pastor under his authority and she submits to his authority does that make it alright. Also if that does not make it alright what is the best way to leave this church that I have been heavily invested in for the last 4 years. Also I am a Full Gospel Christian and it seems that most Full Gospel type of churches do except women pastors and I only want to go to a Full Gospel type of church so where do I go? I hope you get a reply from you. Thank you very much. Chris
As a female I am not discouraged by not being able to lead a church. This also frees me to not have the responsibility of this incredible burden. It doesn't mean I can't serve the Lord or make a big impact on my world! All parts of the body of the church are important! The mouth can talk but without the eye and ear it would be useless! The body of the church is important with all it's functions!
My daddy was a Pentecostal minister. My mama and I played piano and organ. My mama had weekly ministry from the parsonage in quilt making for needy people and took part in the food preparation for special events. She never took the role of a co-pastor yet she complimented my fathers ministry and so did I. I agree with you.
Oh dear that's too subservient for today's " PASTOR DR FIRST LADY" Divas. This is why I totally avoid them. I got saved late in life and their worldly vibe is too familiar for someone trying to follow God and be modest. I think they feel this is how to compete with the other church members
To be honest I am really disappointed that people think that one role is better than other, which is totally wrong, it's like saying the hands are better than the feet, which makes no sense, if you dad is the hand then ur mom is the feet and both jobs are sooo important ❤❤
Well, my Father was a pastor of a small, store front church but our mother never ever said that she was the first lady or co-pastor. She was a loving and God fearing woman who came along side her husband and served God with the gifts he blessed her with: Singing, musician, cooking and hospitality and she also handled the finances. I miss her. 😌😌😌😌
@@andreperait she's the support her husband by controlling most of the day to day activities in the home allowing him to perform his CREATOR given asingment.
One thing I want to say to every who claims to be a christian in this comment section is please stay brotherly kind to one another and love each other. We may disagree about this topic but when debating please be loving
The wife of a pastor has a very important role in the church. There's no need to be a "co-pastor" if you're a pastor's wife. A pastor's wife is a job in of itself
Thank you so much for sharing this. My husband is a young pastor. I used to hold the opposite perspective on this. However, upon searching Scriptures, I am sincerely convinced that leadership is male. Male and female are created to be different to fill in different roles. Not co-fill the same roles. That does not diminish us as women. It's all the more beautiful. God bless you Brother Allen.
If we are Christians that means we have an authority. God’s written word is our authority. Therefore we must hold to the teachings of scripture despite our culture.
It seems the closer we get to Christ’s return, the more friction we have about obeying “parts of the Word” as to simply “0beying the Word”. It’s as though we fear being governed… losing our liberties… our free will… not realizing that yielding our free will to Christ is not only a sign of love and gratitude for the for the price paid on the cross for our freedom from the eternal death sentence, but also it is a sign of our devotion and willingness to submit…. To serve our King.. Lord… which inherently are titles that reflect ownership. Willing to deny ourselves should not be this big of a problem. But it is.
Our fleshly natures are self serving. And will always be in conflict with the Spirit in us that is of God. Complete submission in this life is difficult. Especially in this era as the human race grows more and more selfish and cold. It’s hard but we must continue praying and asking for strength because even the best fall down. We can’t do it on our own. We need Christ our savior.
You have really summed it up well in starting that ultimately It's about obedience to Christ, (not a man or husband). And also in stating that it's about ownership, that Christ owns us. And 3rd, I'm glad you mentioned "as we get closer to Christ's return" I've noticed the same thing, and not just on this topic but in many others, it seems like we're witnessing a major departure from biblical doctrine in these last days - just like the Bible said would happen. You are hitting all the correct theological points on this topic. Kudos to you, I wish more people would see it this way.
I'll admit, initially, this was a very hard teaching to accept. However, it is not about me; it is about how God instituted order in his church. I'm not Lord over myself and I've asked God to humble my heart and help me unlearn many things I learnt before coming to Christ. I'm relying on the Holy Spirit for this constant deconstruction and reconstruction of my beliefs. As Jesus said, He will lead us into all truth. And honestly, if people spent as much time studying God's Word as they did arguing, many things wouldn't even be an issue. Good job, Allen, for keeping it respectful and as always, supporting this with biblical truths. I know some people can get quite mean and it's discouraging but the Holy Spirit will give you peace to keep doing the Lord's work. God bless🙏
Amen sister ! It resonates with me, as I earlier wanted to become a pastor. I am indeed gifted for teaching, but I now want to use it with children (currently studying to become a "secular" teacher) and with other believing women. Thak God He opened our eyes, even when it was painful.
@@mel_ba amen! I've been having a conviction lately to teach as well but high school kids specifically (I already have experience tutoring them) but let's see. I also have a bible study group in my college that I teach occasionally and I couldn't be happier where I'm at😂 May God continue to keep us
it's so great that you ladies are able to humble yourselves before God and acknowledge though it probably wars against your flesh and possibly your ego, but you've come to the realization that this isn't a teaching against your ego this is God's words, my wife goes to a church with a female preacher and i don't condone it yet i also don't condemn her for it none of us are perfect and God is more than able to bring her out of it someday.
@@tonebonebgky2 I'm happy you didn't immediately condemn your wife. I have a lot of friends who go to churches led by females too but I don't criticize them for it like I'm some "superior" Christian, I just encourage them to read Timothy, I believe the Holy Spirit will lead them eventually.
In 1986,on a Wednesday evening. I was very much ❤️ broken. I happened to be walking down the street near a church (at the time it was called Happy church) here in Denver.I wasn't right with God at that point but I went to the church where a WOMAN happened to be speaking about Jesus. She asked if anyone wanted to get right with God and I scurried up to the front. The wonderful power of God came upon me. I choose not to debate the issue of whether or not a woman should preach. I cannot be sorry she spoke about the power of God that night. The Spirit of the Lord took me to a place very much like heaven; in my heart.
You did such a great job of gracefully speaking on an unfortunately, controversial topic. Just because the culture changes does not mean the scripture does.
Are you made in lesser image of God than Man? Are you aware about Phoebe, Prisca and Junia mentioned in Romans 16 ans Acts 18. Don’t agree to just anything. Read and seek what God says and he is only Just. When Man & Woman are made in the image & likeness of God Genesis 1:27. Can one image be lesser than the other? Woman was made as Ezer(Hebrew word strength) of the Man not helper as translated in English.. Jews says God is my Ezer which means strength not subordinate helper. Priscilla and Aquila led a house church together in the New Testament (Romans 16:5, 1 Corinthians 16:19). They are also called Paul’s “co-workers” in advancing the gospel.
I thought of them too! I think it's odd that the topic of male-only leadership NEVER accounts for cultural norms that influenced things. If it's not okay for culture to influence christian principles now, why do people accept cultural influence from back then?
Watch women in ministry by Dr. Sandra Richter. Jesus told the apostles to spread the good news to all creatures in the world. And all of us are to do the same as apostles. Women pastors are doing God's work and spreading the good news nothing wrong with that. Do you think God going to punish women for teaching the good news? God is love
My grandmother was a pastor's wife and her role in the church was so important - it is often a behind-the-scenes role, but nevertheless very critical to the life of any community of worship. When other women had a problem, a grief, a recipe, an idea, they went to her, and she spent untold hours in her own ministry - one driven by love for her husband, the church, and most of all, God. She is in Heaven now, no doubt enjoying Paradise with our Lord.
Well she waits as well all will to be called up. No doubt she's going to heaven that's amazing life served in Jesus name. God willing as were alive today we will never taste death but be called up by God into the Clouds to meet him and go to heaven.
Lord help me to remove myself from any environment that your Will is not being executed in and help me to discern what is of you Will and what is not. Give me the strength to remain obedient in your word and not leading into my own understanding. Open up my eyes and ears to receive your message and open up my heat to receive your love, mercy grace and discipline. In Jesus name I pray Amen.
"5/30/11 From The Lord, Our God and Savior The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear Thus says The Lord: I have bestowed many gifts upon this generation, and lo, the small of My flock have received knowledge and revelation beyond compare. Yet I ask you, who has truly received? Who has been humbled by My words and given thanks? Who among all these scattered flocks has taken joy in My gifts? Beloved, who among this great multitude seeks out My will, to know it? And who, among all these so-called believers, takes pleasure in My Law, saying, “I delight to do Your will, O God, for Your Law is written in my heart”?[1] Yet My people remain foolish, and this little flock envious. For I tell you the truth: Unrighteous jealousy is the companion of fools. For those who envy also grab hold of jealousy, walking hand in hand with covetousness. Beloved, there is but One who sees, One who knows, only One who searches the hearts and minds - I AM HE. How is it then that My people sit in judgment, judging My Word and My will, resisting My ways as they look upon others with contempt? Shall you also seek to ascend above The Most High?! Shall you sit upon My throne?! For I tell you the truth, each time you sit in judgment and question My ways, you walk in satan’s aspirations; you follow in his footsteps![2] And when I bless another, why do you not take joy in it? And when I correct you, why do you resist and question My ways? Am I not The Lord? Do I not give to each according to their faith, according to that which I see in their heart? Why do you in your arrogance set a line for Me to follow, or think within yourselves there must be a better way? And how is it you continually compare yourselves amongst yourselves, knowing this is unwise?[3] Beloved, I have prepared a place for you! Therefore offer up thanksgiving, and cease from your complaints. Forgive and bless, let go and obey, love one another and wash each other’s feet. Take joy in all I do, especially in that which I bestow upon another. And when I feed you, eat from your own plate and give thanks. Little flock, it is the last hour, yet many of you have stepped backward. Let it be known to you: One who treads the path, going up and down, stepping on and off at their convenience, treads not the path, but is like one who treads water. By no means shall they be able to keep their head above water, nor shall their strength deliver them in the Day of Troubles. Therefore heed My words, and also do them; Be wise in your dealings with Me, Humble yourselves and remember... Blessed are those who run to Me, For they shall be blessed in My presence; Even more blessed are those who run to Me, Then obey My Word, for their blessing Is complete and they are at peace... Deliverance they shall surely know... Says The Lord."" www.thevolumesoftruth.com/Delight_in_the_Ways_of_The_Lord
Good Day! Being that I'm a True Believer in the Bible, and I know there are a lot of pastors out there who like to pull certain segments out of the Bible to fit their needs to continue to do what they want. When you read the Timothy 2:12 and said there might be some controversy on this statement what Paul wrote, I say it's very clear because he gave a good example if you read further to the next verses 2:13-14. In other words, men are always suppose to be the Leader and not to be Lead. This is why we have so much corruption in the world because men are not stepping up to do what God intended them to do since the very beginning. Peace!
That passage in Timothy is meant for that church Timothy led. The passage about women is because, at the time, a movement known as the "New Woman" movement was popular in Rome that started out fine as a protest against spousal abuse and quickly descended into chaos.
What made sense in 2000 BC or 33 AD doesn't make sense today. Could God have sent his daughter to preach the Good News and die for our sins? Yes, but no one would have taken her seriously. But, if Jesus returns as a woman tomorrow, plenty of people will listen. My maternal grandfather used to say that men may be the income earners, but women run the house. Why? Because women have to save men from their own stupidity. My father was going to clean out gutters that were overflowing. At the time, it was thunderstorming. The gutters were metal, as was the ladder. Yet, my mother had to tell the science major that cleaning gutters in a thunderstorm was just asking to be struck by lightning.
It’s always better to hear from what the Bible says then someone’s point of view, or being led by their feelings. Thank you Brother for always bringing it back to the word
The Bible is about interpretation! There is a reason why there are 3 main denominations of Christianity, and many, many subvariants of some of those denominations (especially Protestantism)! we cant even all agree on how to interpret the 10 commandments properly! LOL
I go to the most wonderful church that even has a huge food and clothing Ministry that has blessed my life tremendously. I am able to work in that Ministry also as well as receiving a lot of food and clothing which really helps me because I am disabled and low income. However the pastor's wife does call herself a pastor. Should I leave this church? Also I have a very great teaching gift and I am getting ready to start a Bible study. Should I not allow men to come to it and only teach women?
I feel like controversial topicslike this creates a true testing of our heart and willingness to allow The Word develop our theology rather than reading The Word to SUPPORT our own theology. I see Hebrews 4:12 (For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.) played out when topics that we WANT to culturally support are faced with a sober reflection of truly testing and submitting everything to the Word of God. I have been personally challenged with a few ideologies that I held dear to my heart and have been coming to full agreement with truth and God's standard than trying to shape and fit His into my own. Great video as always Pastor Allen. Keep being bold with the truth!
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV. We go to Scriptures to get the right knowledge to deal with our ignorance, get rebuked when we are walking in rebellion, get corrected from error and get instructed and training on the right way of doing things God's way. Let's keep learning.
@Red Hot Pepper Spray that is true. People forget that even though scripture is inspired by God, He used imperfect beings (humans) to write scripture. Some of our biases and our sinful nature is no doubt reflected in some of scripture.
I suggest everyone watch => Women in Ministry ~ Dr Sandra Richter. She pointed out a lot of verses in the Bible and pray the Holy Spirit to help you understand everything clearly. God Bless
@Red Hot Pepper Spray God put man as head of woman. Man has nothing to do with it, just go along with it. Woman was made by God to help man. We have no authority to change the order or the structure. Man has tried to counsel God all along but God won't bulge a millimetre. What God does lasts forever.
I agree that it is so important for the Word of God to shape our understanding and renew our mind. I wrestle to understand what is being said and allow the Bible to interpret itself. When I look at Junia (who was a female apostle where people looked to change her name to be male or claim she wasn’t an apostle but among) and Phoebe (deacon but some translations show as servant though Timothy was called the same and referred to as deacon) and Priscilla (wife of Aquila) I look at the original language through lexicons and look at Paul’s writings to see silent meant peaceable rather than not to speak and I wonder if we’ve attempted to grasp something that we didn’t dig into to fully understand. The beauty is that whether a person agrees or not, it isn’t essential to the doctrine for salvation and we are all still brothers and sisters in Christ either way.
Although unpopular by today's world, I believe that when men act in accordance with God's Plan of Salvation and lead their families as God tells them, things work out for good. The fact that some women are very capable of leading a church body, it is still not their role in certain areas of Church life. Just follow God's word and love your wives as Jesus loves the church. Men and women Are equal from an ontological perspective. Different roles. Neither are women's roles less important.
@@honeybee2601 Agreed. Current social agendas (from the media, entertainment/Hollywood, public schools, etc) promote male and female models that are the polar opposite of God’s model. Everywhere you look, a man acting in a biblical role is labeled as guilty of showing toxic masculinity. Women are pushed to beware of the ‘oppressive patriarchy’ and to look favorably on weak, submissive men. Models of strong men who embrace chivalry and biblical roles are nowhere to be seen in mainstream society. We are being pushed to bow down at the altar of progressivism and need to withstand in the evil day. Follow God’s model; not the world’s.

The Bible is very clear about the roles of women and men. As a woman, I'm very comfortable with my role and I respect the man's role in life. It doesn't make us lesser, just different. You explained this very well and did a great job backing up your position with Scripture.
I had the courage to tell my mom and grandma this. Paul explained the role of men and women in the church. They were mad at me but I did it respectfully and with love.
I was a local curse breaker and exorist, an amateur one at that. It was for the local governments and law enforcement. It was understood, if I was continued to be more accepted in that role to become a nun or a teacher and pianist/organist or helping with the media/praise music and arts promotion for a church. It was understood since I was 5 years old, women are supportive in The Church. We are " The Helpers", we help the men do what they are supposed to do. " Their commissions and missions " for them.

Absolutely 100% agree!!! We can’t bend the scriptures to fit our needs or wants! The HUSBAND of one wife is clear, no way to twist it. Thank you for your wisdom!
This video is so interesting! I will admit there is a part of me as a woman who struggles with this in our current culture of striving for equality. But I know that God intended it that way for a reason! That being said, this video opened my eyes a little bit in regards to a church my family left last year. They were teaching the prosperity gospel, too much emphasis on the election, and preaching about harmful parenting practices. I left for these reasons, but looking back I now realize the husband and wife are co-pastors. It’s a good example of what else a church will overlook if they are structured like that. I’m very grateful that God gave us the discernment to realize these things and move to a new church.
In reference to “too much emphasis on the election,” are you talking about US political elections? I left another church that placed too much emphasis on that.
I am here watching this. After God put in my heart how man and woman can lead a be co-partners. The woman was brought to the man and he named her... I am in a church where husband and wife are pastors but we (my husband and i) are not so comfortable.
I went to a church with co-pastors like this, and I have to say, she was a much better preacher, but I dug into scripture and knew it wasn’t biblical, so I left.
Agree and thanks for commenting women are often far better speakers and presenters than their husband at times, my wife being one of then, but it has 0 to do with what scriptures teaces. And it's very easy to forget but critical that the words from Paul are not paul's words but Christs.
What Scriptures said this? There are none. The Bible says women shouldn't speak in church but it didn't mean teach or be Pastors. It meant something else. There is no Scripture that says that women can be Pastors. You dug in the Scriptures? Which ones did you find? God used several women throughout the Bible. Who saved Moses? Two women and a little girl. What about Deborah in Judges or queens Esther? What about Priscilla and Aquilla in Acts? A husband and wife ministry. Who told Naaman about the prophet? A girl. Who taught Timothy? His mother and grandmother. So you haven't seen any Scriptures to support your point. There are none. Who brought Jesus into the world? A woman.
In addition to Priscilla & Aquila (Acts 16:3 wife, mentioned first), Mary (Rom 16:6 labored with Paul), Phillips four daughters prophesied (Acts 21:9, spoke under the inspiration of God). There are other examples of women in the early church who were co-laborers of the Gospel. I'll summarize their existence with Joel 2:28, 29. The LORD is soon to return and we are still bickering about women's roles in the body of Christ. Whether you have a male, female, or "coupled" co-pastor really isn't the issue. Do they point you to Jesus? Are they showing you how to rightly divide the Word of God? Are they showing you, through God's Word, the way of salvation? Are they obedient to God's command to love Him and love others? Remember the parable about the 10 Virgins? 5 weren't ready. Of the 7 churches in Revelation, only 2 received commendations. Jesus is coming soon. Is your house in order? ~
@John Eldred actually, Pricilla and Aquilla both taught Apollos - Acts 18:26 says that "they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately."
@John Eldred Are you part of the culture that believes women did not preach or teach like the COGIC religion believes (which is in error). Notice I said believe and religion because God calls whom he chooses. I am in a church that has a Co-Pastor and there is no confusion of order, nor is it dangerous to our beliefs, faith, culture, etc. So is this coming from experiences or are you basing it on what the Bible says. As it was stated prior you have to know the history of why Apostle Paul said what he said pertaining to the church back then. In God's eyes we are equal, he had no respector of persons in sin, faith etc. When he brought Eve from Adam she worked along side him as his helpmate, not to stand behind, or in front but along side.
@@TheWordSaysWhat 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I was under someone who came from a COGIC background and I’ve never felt more oppressed as a woman. Such a religious mindset and very demeaning. Watch women in ministry by Dr. Sandra Richter. Jesus told the apostles to spread the good news to all creatures in the world. And all of us are to do the same as apostles. Women pastors are doing God's work and spreading the good news nothing wrong with that. Do you think God is going to punish women for teaching the good news? God is love
@@tcdestiny37 women are commanded to teach (Titus 2:3-5) and to spread the good news. This video is about women being pastors and I think Allen does a fine job of backing his position scripturally.
As a sister in Christ, I concur with this teaching regarding co-pastoring. This truth is not to diminish male/female importance rather it is to highlight and illustrate why we must abide in God's order. Thank you for this teaching supported by the word of God. God bless you.🙏

“Because of the woman's testimony” (John 4:39) We usually know her as the “Woman at the Well,” but I prefer to think of her as the "Woman Who Abandoned Her Water Jar," because after talking with Jesus, the Living Water, John 4:28 reports that she left her jar behind to go tell the people about Jesus. She left behind what she came to the well to do because she found more important work. Shortly thereafter, the text reports that many Samaritans believed in Christ because of her testimony (4:39), demonstrating she was quite the effective evangelist. The conversation Jesus has with her in John 4 is the longest recorded conversation Jesus has with anyone. Why would Jesus spend all that time talking theology with a woman if he didn’t want her to tell anyone about it? He doesn’t reprimand her for leaving her jar - her “women’s work” - behind. Rather, he encourages her spiritual pursuits and questions, then welcomes those she leads to him.
To evangelize is not the same as being a Shepard or operating over a congregation. We are all man and woman and children called to lead personal ministries of Jesus. What this video is talking about is is a woman called to the office of the pulpit? Sharing a testimony is not preaching in fact the verb very plainly displays the difference between the two.
lies and more lies the woman was a woman that slept with many different men, after speaking with THE CHRIST and he told her about her self and her doings she went to the place where she meet these men and said come see a man that told me all what I have done isn't this the CHRIST? she was not evangelizing as y hey the liers will have you to believe she new the REDEEMER was coming to Smaria for PHILLIP was there and he prophesy of coming OF THE CHRIST to that town, this story of her evangelizing was made up story don't be fooled.

So sorry to burst your bubble. The word pastor is completely overrated. Pastor shouldn't even be the ones in charge of the church, it ought to be apostles and prophets. We got the whole thing screwed up in Western church culture in America. Maybe we added in some history studies before we decide we're going to say that co-pastoring incorrect. The entire pastoral model in the American church is incorrect.
@@noellecosby8155 I'm so sorry, but I'm not from America, and we live according to Bible and God's will. Greetings (Btw, Pastor is sheppard of Christ’s bride)
@@noellecosby8155 the word “pastor” derived from Latin meaning “shepherd”. The word “apostle” is Greek meaning to send out. The apostles were ‘sent out’ to create the first church. You can’t lead a church if you’re being sent out to start churches. To “shepherd a church” is constantly being used in scripture by Paul (Timothy/Titus and many more) Any scripture in any language we use today can be considered unbiblical bc it’s all translated from the original Hebrew and Greek. Plenty of ‘new age’ Christians who want to warp the Word in to meaning what makes them feel comfortable love to say the Word has been tampered with. This is simply not true and is just causing more confusion.
1 Corinthians 14:33-38...Paul is speaking to a specific church that is having issues and one of the issues are that they are not allowing women to speak and Paul questions them saying...36 "Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached?" He is making a clear statement to the men of the church, saying there is no Law that states this and that God did not only come to reach men (as a gender) but He came to reach all men (mankind). When studying the Bible we have to acknowledge the semantics, the linguists and logical meaning of words especially in the Greek.
Yes i have this before ,true some issues were addressed to specific churches and yes we should acknowledge the semantics, the linguistics and logical meanings of words especially in greek. I once showed this verses to one of my friend who said the same reason as you have said ,"maybe that specific issue corinth church was battling with",she talked about idols and some other reasons which didnt give and align with Paul reasoning in the text ,i later disagreed with this because: 1.The reason Paul gave on why women should not lead.(lead as either pastors/copastors or elders in the church even the household) It was Gods design that women should not be the head etc. 2.Its not only in this verses where we see this message ....the idea is all over the new testament Ephesians 5:22-23 1 Timothy 2:11-15 Titus 1:5-7 1 Timothy 3:2 3. i disagree with your exegesis on verse 36 this is not a salvation issue, you are talking about God reaching both genders ,which is true.BUT IS NOT WHA THE VERSE IS TALKING ABOUT But we are talking about the roles which is a big deal. the bible says 1 Corinthians 14:34 ESV The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 4.How can a woman shepherd the church ,and go home as a wife and submit to the husband. Personally, I find that odd, but i could be wrong. 5.No where in scripture has it been allowed or permitted .The verses people state are Priscilla and Acquilla ,it clealry does mention such a thing.(women being permitted to lead/shepherd) ... thats the best i could come up with... May the Shalom of Yeshua abound and if this is the truth may God reveal it to you and if its not may God reveal this to me for His glory
Thank you for reminding us that scripture is the final authority. Wonder what would happen in our culture if we just simply accepted God's word as is, the world would be transformed
Keep preaching the word of God my brother. I ordained my wife as co-pastor because I saw that this pattern was pragmatic (it was a way to keep relevant to the world and keep the money coming in). I soon realized the error of my appointment and removed my wife as co-pastor. It wasn't popular but I wanted to honor God rather than making people happy.

The Bible does not address the involvement of the pastor’s wife in any ministry. In other words, it depends upon the denomination, the individual church within a denomination, the church board, and the pastor and his wife to determine how active the pastor’s wife should be. The main area of responsibility for any wife is to support and be submissive to her husband (Ephesians 5:22-24). However, if the Lord calls a man into the ministry, He calls the whole man, and that includes the man’s wife and his family. The Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3 gives us the qualifications of a "bishop" or what we call a pastor, and in verse 4 we see the following: "one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence." "Rules well" is an idiom for being a biblical husband with a submissive wife and children that love and respect him. The pastor who is the head of his home will be more successful as a leader in the church, and of course this means that his wife is his helper in the ministry of the home as well as the church. The ministry is a partnership in all areas of life and not just in the home life. The wife does not do the work of the pastor, but the pastor and his wife are a team who are yoked together to do God’s work. Too few recognize the reality of this and want to put the pastor’s wife in a box and relegate her to keeping the home fires burning and prayer support for her husband. That certainly is her responsibility, but quite often the pastor’s wife has gifts that can and should be used in the ministry. On the other hand, there are women whose husbands are pastors and they see it as "his" ministry and do not enter in to the work in any way. There should be a good balance between these two ideas with the goal of bringing glory to God in all things. An active, outgoing pastor’s wife is a valuable asset to any church in today’s climate of apathy to the things of God.
For me what freed me as a woman was the understanding that our value and worth in God's eyes has nothing to with what we do. Sometimes we just think that doing some things make us valuable or important. But God's word obviously teaches that our inherent sense of value is in Christ alone. What we do, roles, assignments etc are just what they are but don't determine anything about worth and value. The culture is just seeping into the church. The things God has called women to are very important and impactful in the kingdom of God. I pray that God will free us from the temptation to disobey God in search for value and importance and worth per the world's standards.
Brother Allen, I’d like to start by saying that The books and letters that make up the Holy Bible were written FOR us and not TO us. Therefore we must be cognisant of the socio-cultural context of the original audience. The first passage of scripture you referenced (1Tim 3:1) clearly reflects the times in which Paul lived. “He” was used because it was unusual unexpected even to have a Female overseer. It’s like reading an old Navy SEALs Recruitment Poster which describes the height, weight requirements of any Man who wishes to join. In the second portion of scripture (1Tim 2:12), you see here that Paul is writing to his protégée telling him of his own preference as he said “I do not let…” Let’s play out the scenario you describe in your conclusion.. say a woman is a bible study teacher or Sunday School Teacher for kids. You expect that once one of her male students reach say 16 or 18 she no longer is qualified to teach him regardless of his own spiritual maturity? What happens if there’s a female Bible Teacher in a rural community with only new convert males? Should she immediately hand over pastoral care to one of these men when a small congregation starts to build or perhaps wait until a male missionary turns up? In conclusion, I refer you to Acts 18:26: He (Apollos) began speaking boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, THEY took him aside and explained the way of God to him more accurately. Based on this, I do believe that women can be called by God to the office of Pastor and can be Co-Pastors and Church Leaders. I leave you with Paul’s Letter to the Galatians As many of you have been baptised in Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek; bond nor free; male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:27-29).
Thank you for this video. My faith in God has been restored and I pray that it'll continue. About that subject, I was confused and backslide my faith but the more I heard and know the scripture, the more I have faith in Him.
I totally agree with you on this issue. As a Pastor's wife I was just as busy but I was basically his support person and his chaperone when he was visiting women who lived alone. this co-pastoring junk is a result of feminism in the Church. Women hate the idea of submission to authority and this their solution.
Amen, my Pastors wife was a major figure in helping me to convert, yet she is not a “co-pastor”. She just showed me so much love and talked with me through my objections. God bless you both
My grandfather told me this. He said it is not biblical. And my Pastor always says make sure everything we preach, teach or do as Christians can be backed up by the Word of God. His Word never changes!!!!
No, but our understanding of it seems to change often! Why dont we stone fornicators anymore, or burn witches? (im not suggesting we should, simply trying to contrast our changes in interpretation)
One thing I didn't hear in this video is the REAL questions which is "Is it affective? Does it work? Is it destroying the church?" If the answer is no then I say keep it moving. There are many churches with the biblical leadership roles in place and are in a mess. I rather be lead by a woman with a great heart and ability to lead than a man who's spiritually weak. A vessel is a vessel.
“And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. For he that is not against us is on our part.” Mark 9:38-40 KJV

This is very sad that people really believe that just because something is effective it can be dragged into the Church of God!! When that happens it ceases to a Church of God but of Man! "Be ye Holy for I am Holy...."
Acts 2:17 "In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. But church leadership is appointed to men in the Bible only. We can all share the gospel and preach the Word of God, but not all lead the body of Christ. Men are to be the leaders .
@@katelinparks9536 not accurate. Women can lead. ITs astonishing we can trust woman in so many things but we still argue this. Right! I don't like when people says it was only relevant for the culture at that time b/c we can say that about other parts of the bible. It says what it says.
YES YES YES! Thank you for addressing issues that need not be as difficult to understand for the modern church. We lived in Houston for many years and this seems to be a growing trend for churches of all sizes and denominations. Be kept.
This IS a difficult issue. It’s hard to separate the cultural from eternal truths. We don’t insist on head coverings for women in church, we don’t stone adulterers, we don’t execute people who work on the Sabbath or farmers who plant different crops side by side. Yet it’s all scriptural to do so. The Bible doesn’t mention co-pastors, but it doesn’t mention church coffee shops or book stores either. I don’t support the idea of husband wife co-pastors as a personal preference but I’m not sure Biblical precedent is a winning argument.
What was Adam and Eve doing in the garden in the beginning after they were both created before the servant if not pastoring together? Didn’t Adam name everything through the inspiration of God? Did Paul say ( I surfer a woman not to teach?) Why did he use the word I ( identifying himself) Was Paul an apostle? why is it made to seem that the Word of god is a commodity reserves to be spread only by Men? God wants His Word spread through the the world and it will take all people, we are all called, it is the one that accepts who is chosen, women will not be denied that privilege and honor . It is not about man it is about the kingdom of God! Let God be our judge for teaching and preaching to the world and to our sons an daughters of which we do from their birth!. To God Be The Glory, not man and his corrupt church. The church is in us not a building
Just a thought to consider: the underground church in Iraq, I’ve heard the FASTEST growing underground church in the world, is led by women….as is the underground church in Afghanistan. Now, I don’t know exactly what that looks like, BUT, it goes without saying that the Word of God is being preached by these women and it is bearing fruit for the kingdom. Now, please tell me that isn’t of God. But I think your heart can’t do that because hell is being raided and heaven is rejoicing.
I don't disagree with you, but Priscilla and Aquila seems to have been an equal partnership when preaching about Christianity and working together as tent makers too.
@Andrew West maybe when it comes to missions there’s a difference but regarding leadership in an actual church setting it’s clear in scripture. Yes, we are all called to preach but not be pastors.
@Andrew West I don't believe anyone would disagree with a woman sharing the gospel, but this isn't the "context" of this discussion resulting from Allen's video. This is more about giving a woman positional authority by way of a pastoral role - this is where or why this would be un-biblical.
@Andrew West Are they preaching to men when there aren't any men to preach? If so, these men need to get out of the pews and do God's will, and step up to the plate. Complacency will NOT be an excuse when lack of actions have to be accounted for...
Struggled with this one a lot especially when I was an Elder at my church. These same points were brought up and disagreed with. Including going to the Greek translation of the scriptures as well. I have a few hesitations with the passage: Priscilla and Aquilla taught a man in the book of acts. It wasn’t leading a church but the teaching involved a woman. There are times where Paul spoke his opinion (such as on marriage or staying single) so was this a direct command from God or was Paul speaking from a cultural perspective? If there is a man who is an unbeliever in the church and a woman who is a seasoned believer could she teach him? My mother prayed and taught me when I was in the streets selling drugs and when I was a kid. A lot of men haven’t been stepping into their role as the leader or have been doing it poorly. Many men have left the church leaving a lot of women. Could a woman step in then? Many women have had to become the mother and “father” in their household which is not Gods order or intent. So in regards to church leadership is a woman teaching a sin issue? It’s a hard one to accept from face value there are some gray areas but praise be to God and I want to learn and understand the complexities of His word. This passage I am still on the fence about until someone helps clear up the gray areas in my head or the Lord reveals it to me in His timing Thanks Josh
Very good questions, and points as someone who's wife lead me to the holy spirit and at a different level spiritually I see how this can bother people. When Jesus died and created a new covenant all the old traditions and laws died to usher in a new age of revival and understanding of what God truly wants from us.
I suggest everyone watch => Women in Ministry ~ Dr Sandra Richter. She pointed out a lot of verses in the Bible and pray the Holy Spirit to help you understand everything clearly. God Bless
Good questions overall but I think they can be addressed: - Priscilla was not said to hold the office of an elder. Imagine the scenario where I as a young Christian knew an elderly woman who has been walking with God for decades and on an occasion she explained to me things of scripture I had misunderstood, does it mean she has any sort of spiritual authority over me? I think it’s clear she wouldn’t, I believe the case is similar for Priscilla and Apollo. - do not think that when Paul says he has not a word from the Lord regarding an issue that he means he wasn’t inspired and so are free to then disagree w him or write it off as simply cultural , rather I think what he’s saying is that while he has no direct quotes from Jesus (Paul quoted Jesus on occasion), he could still give his inspired authority and binding pronouncements as an apostle of a Christ. - nothing wrong with a seasoned female believer teaching an unbeliever about some matter in scripture in an unofficial capacity as another fellow Christian. In fact, I think more of that should be done in general, why does she have to be a pastor to do this? - In regards to this, Allen has already affirmed Female believers can pastor over children and other women, this includes our mothers over us while we are kids still. - this is a bit of an exception, there is imbalance, men are leaving and there’s more women in the local church. Should the church be without a leader just cuz men in that local church aren’t up to task? I’m inclined to say no, but I don’t think we should make normative practices from imbalance/disorder. This would also apply to your next question as well. -Single mums unfortunately have to be mother and “father” (in whatever capacity they can) to their kids. Does this mean that she can therefore violate what seems to be prescriptive order of church leadership? Moreover, relationship between man and woman in marriage != rel btw woman and a man who is an elder in a church. A single mum who is instructing her kids is doing well but she should still be under the authority (strictly in church matters) of the elders as I don’t think it gives her leeway to then teach/exercise spiritual authority over other men in the role of office of pastor in a church. Also I think it’s easy for us to confuse mentoring/ giving spiritual advice with being in the office of a pastor over a congregation (not saying u are doing so, just for anyone who might read this comment). These are just my thoughts (hopefully biblical) in response to your questions, hope they help your considerations in some way. God bless!
As I grow in knowledge of the word of God and in Faith in Christ Jesus, I’m seeing all the mistakes I’ve made and the thought processes I’ve had because I don’t want to make those mistakes again. When we compromise on things from the word of God to “Fit in,” what we are really doing it looking at Jesus on the cross dead in the eyes and saying, “ Thanks for dying for our sins, but we’re just gonna do this thing, even though it’s bad, just to fit in. We good though right?” You cannot compromise with the word of God, for you either accept all that is said, or you just intentionally disobey its teachings. I hope this message was received by someone, Amen🙏🏾
Very well said Allen! Thanks for breaking this down. As a small group leader, I’ve always wondered how to interpret the scripture and how it applies today. Totally agree that women have so much to offer the church and this doesn’t need to be done in a co-pastor position.
This is definitely a touchy subject. Especially with the way people can get offended so quickly. I see your position and agree based on the evidence you provided but I'm sure others will disagree. Perhaps some feedback on the the thoughts of a co-pastoring team can be beneficial to this topic. I'd be interested in hearing the other side's perspective.
Agreed. I'd like to hear about the co-pastoring defense from one. I never went to a co-pastoring chruch, so I dont know much about it. I had listened to quite a bit of Carter Conlon online because he is in New York & I am in California. He did some very good sermons & every once in a while, he would have his wife include something if she wanted at the end of his sermon, but she definitely did not speak every time or even present in a way where it could be interpreted as her having shared limelight.
It would be interesting to hear the perspective from a co-pastoring team for sure. My opinion, based on personal experience with A LOT of these brothers and sisters in this position, is that some really do “mean well” in their stance on this topic. I believe they think that because the culture is changing so much that they have to keep up with it to be relevant, and to win those influenced by it. But Spiritual maturity and the fear of God (along with many other things) will make you step back from being influenced by the culture and desire to be more influenced by the word of God. Now some, on the other hand, are about branding and being accepted by the culture instead of giving something to the culture that is missing. I believe this entire country has the wrong idea of the family construct, which influences the church and also the culture. You guys should read a book called “Family Revision by Jeremy Pryor.” It is a complete paradigm shift and would shed a bright light on the main issue in our modern society. It helped me understand how much help I myself personally need to change this narrative. Blessings to all of you!

@Ethan Weber it is highly unlikely that they had a church in their house that they were not leading. Especially since if there was another leader , that name was not stated. It amazes me that many Pastors today have no desire to use 1 Timothy as a blueprint for building or maintaining their church. Culture has so deeply ingrained itself into the Christian church. I truly appreciate your teaching. It’s sound, solid Word-based teaching.
Not just modern churches, but Paul himself doesn't use this teaching as a model. Paul shows that women can be ministers (deacons), prophets, and apostles. And that such women were co-workers with himself.
@@listenup2882 so women can be apostles, prophets, and deacons. Women were allowed to, and encouraged to, prophecy in church. Women taught men, as Pricilla taught Apollos, and deacons preached, as we see deacons doing in Acts 6. So it seems fairly clear that women could be ministers in church. But which scripture says women cannot be pastors?
I like that Allen always points us back to the Bible - It’s so easy to start sliding toward popular culture, and then finding it acceptable - Women hold a unique, special place in the church - They should not need to try to take over a man’s responsibility’s!💕

I am 22 Years of age. I have been blessed to be be a missionary for 20 years. I have been an Lay-Evangelist since I was 8 years old. I have been teaching the Gospel and God's revelation to me bourne out of personal experience. I heard God's call over my life to go into full time ministry at 16years old. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. How offensive it MUST be to my heavenly Father that men use His Holy Word, misinterpreted and not Spirit led, as a means to keep His daughter whom He has called and chosen out of ministry. I heard Isaiah 6:8 clear as day to me. "Whom shall I send", I said YES to the Holy Spirit and no organization or body of people can stop me. God has brought me and His word together and no one can put this union asunder. I pray for women who feel stiffled and confined. God sees you and he is coming to give you a word of commission! I pray you answer the call!
I am so grieved in my soul and spirit when i read these comments on this video. So many scriptures are taken out of context because of the translators mistakes in translating “wives” into “women” .. clear as day scripture tells wives to submit to their husbands. Even with Adam and Eve, He says “your desire shall be for your HUSBAND and HE (your husband) shall rule over you. I wish people would actually study scripture for themselves but they don’t. They don’t dig deep and yet want to argue with those who do. Women have had a target on their backs since the beginning of time, since God put enmity between the serpent and the woman. I have been called to ministry, I’ve been persecuted and the enemy has tried to silence me more times than I can count.. At a point I even pulled away from God because of His call on my life. I didn’t want to fight any more. I was tired and I couldn’t go to God because HE was the one who called me and I didn’t want to be called anymore. I could have lost my faith completely. But out of desperation I cried out to Him and Surrendered my heart to Him. When HE felt I was ready, He led me to a study of the scriptures where I discovered the truth. God does not limit women in ministry, but he does call them to submit to their husbands. In this I have peace because of the revelation from HIM. I am pleased to submit to my husband (who is also called) whole heartedly. This is NATURAL for me to do in my new nature.

When I was living in another state, my in laws are currently and have been co-pastoring their church for many years. I was always hesitant about this, but didn't have the courage to call it out, as out of respect to them. I still and will continue to claim that a woman should not have authority over a man, yet it is very difficult, in these last days, to inform others that are they going by what's biblical or relying on their feelings to make a stance on believing in co-pastoring.
The Bible is CRYSTAL clear on this subject. Women are unqualified to be a pastor. “11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” 1 Timothy 2:11-12

I really appreciate you speaking on this subject! I was in a church that would switch it up often and go back and forth between husband and wife, and it felt very political and cultural. There was a major difference between the messages the husband would give vs the wife. She would speak from feelings, emotions and cultural topics bouncing around from scripture to scripture never really making a solid Biblical point. That was the main reason I left, but at the time almost felt bad for it. On the other hand I do watch and follow many woman Bible studies and channels. They still harness their gifts, but in a scripturally sound way. Thanks again!
You are spot on, Allen. As followers of Christ, we are called t look at the world through the lense of scripture. Jesus commanded us to judge righteously. The only way to do that is to use the Holy Bible, God's Word, as the standard. We are not to include our own prejudices, etc... The fact that Paul went all the way back to the beginning, Genesis, shows how God established everything. He established the order. I like that you went to how women can use their gifts. In fact, Paul commands (Apostolic Command) older women to teach younger women. The highest role a woman has is as a wife and mother. Why? A mother has tremendous influence on their husbands and their children. Embrace!

The distinction you make between the office and the gift is helpful. Thank you for graciously and biblically addressing an issue which I have struggled with over the years being a missionary and pastor’s wife. God has led me to understand that it is my own pride that desires to grab a title,. I’ve been privileged to be placed in certain leadership roles over the years and am learning that humility and service work best, not titles.

This, along with other topics you’ve presented, give us the opportunity to pause, Selah, consult the word and truly examine what the word says. I will dig deeper looking for greater understanding. I hadn’t honestly thought of co-pastoring previously and it’s cultural implications. It now has me wondering what other effects are happening that may be impacted indirectly from this and other practices. And are they taking us further from God, or bringing us closer? Food for thought…
In bible interpretation, you must consider the culture and historic context. In the early church, it was run by slaves, men mostly could read, women mostly couldn't. In 1st Corinthians, the issue was women were interrupting service with bible questions because they couldn't read. The other issue was in ancient Greek culture if a woman publicly poured her her heart to a man, such as to ask questions or to debate, that was seen as her prostituting herself to a man. If a new person came into the church and saw women interrupting and contently asking questions, that would have been assumed to be an orgie. To Paul told the women of the time it's better to remind silent than to have someone speak ill against you, go home and ask your husbands rather than be thought of as a whore. The culture today as changed, where I think women have far more freedom to express what she is thinking without the fear of people assume it's sexual in nature; the bible does make clear there are different roles for men and women, and the spirit of what Paul said, though less flexible in a different culture, still remains the same today.
The MOST HIGH said in his word THE HEAVENS and earth shall pass away but my word shall remain it also said I'm the CREATOR of yesterday, today and tomorrow and I change not, so my friend it has nothing to do with culture it have all to do o with his wishes

I agree my brother and friend! I’ve already read several “stones” where they’ve already dismissed what really is clear in scripture. Unfortunately, our fallen nature will blind us to truth and cause us to be resistant to the evidence right in front of us. Well the point is there are some things which are non debatable. And what fruit is there in a public debate, especially when there are unbelievers watching and listening to our unChristlike division. Most “discussions” of disagreement among followers of Christ are best handled privately. We should not be seeking to win a debate, but to build one another up, even admonishing one another in the Lord. The thing is, he used Scripture. Plenty of it. And in context. Are you saying he’s wrong? If so, how? And I must say, I’ve worked for and around quite a few pastors and Biblical scholars for over 25 years, and I’ve learned first hand that having a doctorate of theology doesn’t make a person sound. I personally know quite a few “doctors” of theology (Th.D.) who have taught some erroneous doctrine. So spending 4 - 8 years in seminary doesn’t always prove anything, except that a person can become so immersed in the Word, even learning Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, learn church history and how to study language and context - and still graduate and come away with a denominational perspective or just simply false doctrine. I’ve seen and heard enough to prove this.
God is love
What i can say is that scripture covering anything we develop as doctrine must be taken in view of its application within the confines of scripture not our own thoughts of it. Yes Paul says what he says to Timothy but do we see where that is actually applied? Do we see women being put down not to teach or are rebuked or punished by the Holy Spirit for doing such a wrong thing? if we see Priscilla (Acts 18:26) doing the very thing you say she shouldn't do and we see Junia (Romans 16:7) even being imprisoned for it, then the interpretation of that scripture in Timothy may be more contextual than doctrinal. Joel 2:28, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is on ALL - the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for SOME they are for ALL. Here is my critical thought - Is God only limited to men in doing his work? Is the Great commission only for Men? Think about these things my brother? If men refuse to do the work of God in that society who then can he use? - That's my humble submission to you......
Thank you! It's funny how he's saying all that but forgetting about Deborah from the old testament. I've notice Allan has thing thing where if it's not written in the Bible, God don't want it to happen.

I was about to write a comment like this but you beat me to it. Well said. It’s a tough doctrine. Regardless of what side you land on on this passage you have a good amount of explaining to do, lol. For further reading, N.T Wright has some good insight on this topic. Allegedly, there was a domineering women’s cult strongly present in Ephesus where Timothy likely was. This makes it probable that Paul was addressing what was going on in that Church specifically, possibly a topic Timothy was asking him about. Also, the Greek word for “authority” is the only appearance of this word in the NT, making it difficult to discern the exact meaning.
Actually, Your references to Acts 18 and Romans 16 are inaccurate. Neither woman was holding position of Pastor or Deacon. If they were then Paul in the writing of Acts would have contradicted himself and the teachings of Christ when writing to Timothy in 1 Timothy 3, about the qualifications for Pastor(Bishop) and Deacon. The position is that of leadership and accountability to God and the People of the Church. This does not mean Woman can not do the work of Christ leading others to Christ or guiding those around them. They just can't hold the title/position of Pastor/Deacon. To say that they can, goes against scripture as per 1 Timothy 3. All are called to serve, not all are called to be pastor or deacon. Now as far as the Greek word used for Servant. Yes there are those that believe it is to mean Deacon. However again if this is the case, then the scriptures are wrong when it comes to the positions given in 1 Timothy. There is also nothing that says a woman can not hold a position of preaching or teaching over the women. Allen actually describes all of this pretty well
@@tcdestiny37 There is nothing that says a woman can't spread the Gospel or teach the good news. What they cannot do is hold the position/title of Pastor/Deacon. What is your view on female co-pastors? It's becoming more POPULAR but is it BIBLICAL? Share your thoughts below and, as always, keep it respectful!
Popular and NOT biblical

As a Christian woman I have absolutely no problem with what the word of God says. No is no. Period.
The culture may change but the Word of God does not change 🙏🏾.

But it is.
Pride gets in the way of obedience to God
You are spot on.
2 Timothy 4:3-4
Judges 4:4 mentions a prophetess named Deborah to lead Israel for battle. God used whomever he wants.
God bless🙏

The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
Thus says The Lord: I have bestowed many gifts upon this generation, and lo, the small of My flock have received knowledge and revelation beyond compare. Yet I ask you, who has truly received? Who has been humbled by My words and given thanks? Who among all these scattered flocks has taken joy in My gifts? Beloved, who among this great multitude seeks out My will, to know it? And who, among all these so-called believers, takes pleasure in My Law, saying, “I delight to do Your will, O God, for Your Law is written in my heart”?[1]
Yet My people remain foolish, and this little flock envious. For I tell you the truth, each time you sit in judgment and question My ways, you walk in satan’s aspirations; you follow in his footsteps![2]
And when I bless another, why do you not take joy in it?
Therefore heed My words, and also do them;
Be wise in your dealings with Me,
Humble yourselves and remember...
Blessed are those who run to Me,
For they shall be blessed in My presence;
Even more blessed are those who run to Me,
Then obey My Word, for their blessing
Is complete and they are at peace...
Deliverance they shall surely know...

Peace!
Great comment and so true
That passage in Timothy is meant for that church Timothy led. The passage about women is because, at the time, a movement known as the "New Woman" movement was popular in Rome that started out fine as a protest against spousal abuse and quickly descended into chaos.
Well Stated, Woman of GOD!
What made sense in 2000 BC or 33 AD doesn't make sense today. Could God have sent his daughter to preach the Good News and die for our sins? Yes, but no one would have taken her seriously. But, if Jesus returns as a woman tomorrow, plenty of people will listen.

@Red Hot Pepper Spray that is true. People forget that even though scripture is inspired by God, He used imperfect beings (humans) to write scripture. Some of our biases and our sinful nature is no doubt reflected in some of scripture.

Equality?? Woman get everything....
A woman.
Have you read about Pricilla and Aquilla??
So you're the type not to agree with Acts 21:8-9
Did she seem to be in submission to her husband..or did she seem like she was running him..and the church......???
I love your accurate addition to this teaching.

“Because of the woman's testimony” (John 4:39)
We usually know her as the “Woman at the Well,” but I prefer to think of her as the "Woman Who Abandoned Her Water Jar," because after talking with Jesus, the Living Water, John 4:28 reports that she left her jar behind to go tell the people about Jesus.

I once showed this verses to one of my friend who said the same reason as you have said ,"maybe that specific issue corinth church was battling with",she talked about idols and some other reasons which didnt give and align with Paul reasoning in the text ,i later disagreed with this because:
1.The reason Paul gave on why women should not lead.(lead as either pastors/copastors or elders in the church even the household)
It was Gods design that women should not be the head etc.
2.Its not only in this verses where we see this message ....the idea is all over the new testament
Ephesians 5:22-23
1 Timothy 2:11-15
Titus 1:5-7
1 Timothy 3:2
3. i disagree with your exegesis on verse 36
this is not a salvation issue, you are talking about God reaching both genders ,which is true.BUT IS NOT WHA THE VERSE IS TALKING ABOUT
But we are talking about the roles which is a big deal.
the bible says
1 Corinthians 14:34 ESV
The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says.
4.How can a woman shepherd the church ,and go home as a wife and submit to the husband. Personally, I find that odd, but i could be wrong.
5.No where in scripture has it been allowed or permitted .The verses people state are Priscilla and Acquilla ,it clealry does mention such a thing.(women being permitted to lead/shepherd)
... thats the best i could come up with...

100% agreement
I love this channel! You speak on important things no one else wants to. I can always count on you to stick to the word!!! God bless brother Parr!
Amenn.

This is amazing understanding!
In the second portion of scripture (1Tim 2:12), you see here that Paul is writing to his protégée telling him of his own preference as he said “I do not let…”
Let’s play out the scenario you describe in your conclusion.. say a woman is a bible study teacher or Sunday School Teacher for kids.

One thing I didn't hear in this video is the REAL questions which is "Is it affective? Does it work? Is it destroying the church?" If the answer is no then I say keep it moving.

Thanks Alan for speaking out about this important subject. It's bothered me for a long time. Greatly appreciate your boldness to address this issue.
I don't believe in co-pastoring. Bless your heart brother Allen. Keep up the valiant work❤
I don't disagree with you, but Priscilla and Aquila seems to have been an equal partnership when preaching about Christianity and working together as tent makers too.
I think “authority” over men is probably the main issue. Women should teach women, and men, men.
@Andrew West Aquila and Priscilla were not pastors but missionaries. They were not leading a church
Struggled with this one a lot especially when I was an Elder at my church. These same points were brought up and disagreed with. Including going to the Greek translation of the scriptures as well.
I have a few hesitations with the passage:
Priscilla and Aquilla taught a man in the book of acts.
This passage I am still on the fence about until someone helps clear up the gray areas in my head or the Lord reveals it to me in His timing
Thanks Josh
Superb questions ♥️
True. I am a single parent, not by choice and I really had to learn how to lead.
God Bless
Good questions overall but I think they can be addressed:
- Priscilla was not said to hold the office of an elder.
Good idea..hopefully Pastor Parr will consider it.

The scripture states the had a church in their house
@@smartmoney77 Does it state that they led that church? It does not say anything other than a church met in their house.
@Ethan Weber it is highly unlikely that they had a church in their house that they were not leading. Especially since if there was another leader , that name was not stated. Has God based our spiritual calling on the culture we are from?

The Bible is CRYSTAL clear on this subject. Women are unqualified to be a pastor.

Embrace!

Thank you for this point...it is quite strange why when it comes to this scripture Allan has never tried to bring back the portion into its context...

This is another opportunity for me to ask the Holy Spirit to give me light on a particular subject. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
