I agree. Kenny A. has power, finesse, chops and taste. He knows when to lay back and when to kick your butt and slap you across the face. One of my favorite rock drummers. I saw him backing Bob Seger and he stole the show without trying.
I saw this band of John's at Market Square Arena in 1992, he tore his jeans on his back side., we all screamed, he just continued with his back side of his britches exposed. They all were Fantastico!
Say him end the concert in Montreal with this version Everyone standing singing with the house lights on it was unbelievable That lonesome jubilee tour was his best
Remember watching this on pay per view thinking, What? They're opening with the best song. I knew it was gonna be great. Some killer performances. Ron Wood was awesome.
I like the little violin part at 4:55. Nice dynamics. As far as the two chick singers... not a song where you want to mammy the vocals. Overall, a nice rendition of a Dylan classic.
@pmm178: possibly Katreese Barnes as the first singer in the suede fringes, not sure...she is listed among the performers on Wikipedia, but I can't find a video of her belting out anything as spectacular as this, so maybe not Sue Medley - second female vocalist and in case anyone else is wondering - Lisa Germano - violin

Sue Medley is Canadian, if I'm not mistaken. I watched one video of hers on TV, entitled "Maybe The Next Time." She also performed at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, during my first semester of college, in the Fall of 1990 (which I missed out on, unfortunately).
Hey...point...Like A Rolling Stone is Dylan territory She lives in her castle by the CRIMEAN sea I told her what I needed and she dug it with me Baby one thing I'll tell you is you got to be free I'll steal this from you If you'll take it from me🎉(oop oop sha la la) By Reisa
That first woman . . . when she starts singing, she's like a ham actor. A joke. She has no idea at all of how bloody ludicrous her contribution is. Then the other comes on. It's like duelling screamers. Really, John should have directed them a bit. It came out cumbersome and ugly when the potential for sublimity was there.
I'm sorry, but this is the worst I ever heard, I really love the good old songs like journey, tears for fears, asia, rolling stones, queen etc etc, but this is horrible
What an amazing collaboration between Mellencamp, the backup singers who were far more than backup and the band. They went all in on this.
Wondering what their names are?
Chi ha arrangiato tutti questi capolavori, uno più bello dell' altro. Grazie
Just an amazing remake. Both women can really belt it out.
shout-out to that drummer that guy is on fire
I agree. Kenny A. has power, finesse, chops and taste. He knows when to lay back and when to kick your butt and slap you across the face. One of my favorite rock drummers. I saw him backing Bob Seger and he stole the show without trying.
Kenny is the best.
Whenever Kenny plays for a singer or group, they become a torrent of energy.
The violin induced goose bumps! Amazing rendition!
Great Version! Pleasantly surprised to hear Sue Medley! Great singer, I hope she's doing well these days, always loved her powerful voice!
Loved how the ladies helped out in singing. Especially Pat Peterson, WOW!
I saw this band of John's at Market Square Arena in 1992, he tore his jeans on his back side., we all screamed, he just continued with his back side of his britches exposed. They all were Fantastico!
very cool to see one of my favorite singer songwriters covering a song written by my alltime favorite singer songwriter
Best song best performance in this 30th Anniversary. So is My Back Pages
FYI…for those who do not know…this is from the Bob Dylan 30th anniversary concert celebrations from madison sq gardens

Saw him years ago...sadly once...but he did this song and I was blown away by him all over again!

That is Pat Peterson, who is a long time vocalist in John's band.
i like pat
Both women are vocally amazing .🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
Pat peterson
Superb indeed ~ John, one of our Indiana guys who still lives in his home state!
I remember watching this on pay per view when it was new and I knew it was gonna be great when the show opened with the best song!
Say him end the concert in Montreal with this version
Everyone standing singing with the house lights on it was unbelievable
That lonesome jubilee tour was his best
Fantastic

Great Song Awesome Cover
この後もう1曲歌ったんだよね
タイトル忘れたけど。Dylanの30 周年記念コンサートのトップバッターだったね。この日のMSGのお客様は幸せ者です🤗
Kenny is one of the best drummers.
Great drum sound, live stuff usually has drums that sound like pots and pans. This sounds great!
in my view,he is one of three world class drummer
Wow great video. That is hot!! Who is the black woman singing?
I like the little violin part at 4:55. Nice dynamics. As far as the two chick singers... not a song where you want to mammy the vocals. Overall, a nice rendition of a Dylan classic.
I stopped breathing at the violin part.
... How does it feel?... dopo aver ascoltato un simile capolavoro di Bob e dopo una simile esibizione di John & Company ... grandiosi
Absolutely the best version of this song!!!
Fantastic!
So sweet 🎉 On Fire 🔥
@pmm178:

Sue Medley - second female vocalist
and in case anyone else is wondering -
Lisa Germano - violin
Una obra maestra de Dylan, cantada en está ocasión con mucha energía, que pensaria él si la escucho, ami me encanto
claro q la escucho px antes hay ensayos y el mismo estaba en sunconcierto bien monse res no
T0ooo awesome
Never heard anyone criticize Kenny Aronoff's drumming before. You must be really good.
lol, no kidding, Kenny’s the best🥁 & Al Kooper, the original keyboard player on Bob Dylan’s studio take of this song.
FKN killed it!!
PORQUÉ no están en los créditos, las voces GENIALES de las chicas??
PAT PETERSON and SUE MEDLEY !!!!!!!!
Like They Say Today DOPE!!!!!
How does it feel ?
Wow!
Listen to this by Randy California and Spirit. No better version exists.
Lisa Germany on violin🥳

The female singers murdered it with their histrionics, they should have let John sing it himself.
This puts the original to shame.
the black woman is Pat Peterson
Fat ass and annoying
@@dougj7295 Yes, bring the attention to herself instead of the song.
can anyone id the two female singers?
Who is that chick singing up there with Mellencamp? Other comments in this video indicate her name is Pat Patterson. Is this right?
Brian Doucet Yes Pat Peterson and Sue Medley

John Millen camps never been the same since he lost Kenny Aronof
If you don't grab your girl and dance. Then you're not alive!
I love all the singing. However, violin makes this.
Don't call me "cougar!!"
Al Cooper and the drummer a little bit violin a little bit harmonica and two Girls plus John c great start
Qual'è il nome della cantante di colore?
Is she ok
I was wrong?
Everything seems a bit exaggerated, theatrical, from the background singers to the drummer.....
on drums i think it's aronoff a good version of dylan's song
I see Al Kooper on organ.
Al Kooper
No direction home
Totalmente progressista! Amazing aumenta o volume nessa porra.
Pretty nice performance, but the drummer is dragging. Good fills, but just behind the beat.
They did open heart surgery with this song.
Pat peterson
The violinist is just 20 seconds shows who the most talented female is on the stage. The other 2 over-sing the song.
That first woman . . . when she starts singing, she's like a ham actor. A joke. She has no idea at all of how bloody ludicrous her contribution is. Then the other comes on. @@billwhite9703 Opinions are like assholes, we really don't want to hear them.
Lisa Germano
U
Big mouthed woman. Too much.
that drummer needs a lie down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The male singer sings flat.
