1 detail you missed: The orb of Deception used to turn you into the oposite faction, wearing a specific set of armor. It wasnt until very recently that they changed it to transform you while keeping your transmog. Very early in the game i used the orb of deception to take the flags in Arathi Bashin. It was hilarious.
My Druid still has the original Dartol’s Rod of Transformation in her bag. I use it all the time and sometimes people ask “At what level do druids get furbolg form?” 😂
Ah, the Piccolo of the flaming fire. So my earliest wow memory of having an entire auction house of people dance wasn't a mistake. Still always use it before a Raid fight.
Fun Fact about #2: If you had the original quest item (and the original quest) when Cataclysm hit, you got the keep the item while the quest was deleted from your quest log. I still have it on my human paladin!
Interesting anecdote on the orb of deception: Back in Vanilla during an MC raid the Sulfuron Harbinger died up on the wall so high no one could reach him. Except... a gnome with the Orb, who turned into a Tauren. Tauren's increased hitbox size allowed her to reach the boss and let us all know what loot the boss had dropped.
The teleporters do have quirks worth mentioning. Sometimes youll TP way up in the air and need a way to deal with falling damage. You could also get a debuff called evil twin which made you immune to warlock summons, but dying did get rid of it.
An addition to the snowballs bit, if you have the blizzcon mount from a few years ago, it spawns snowballs under you sometimes when moving. That's one other way to have snowball fights all year round.
they're lv30 since shadowlands, very easy to grind, stand next to npc's and get exalted with bloodsail in 2-3 hours. Don't kill npc's that slows it down but you gotta have multiple npc hubs to spawn more guards. Near bank, in inn, and a building near the center water ramp are good spots.
Honorable mention to the garrison and Dalaran hearstone. I'm so used of having them in my cast bar that I forget they once were taking space in my bag.
I remember back in the day(Late BC era) making(asked nicely knowing they wouldn't say no even though they didn't want to) my Priest friend heal me through Strat for a couple of hours straight in the middle of the night so I could get my piccolo to annoy people for the next few of years. One of my favorite memories in the game.
I went through Vanilla not getting the Piccolo despite seeing it drop like a dozen times. Years later, one time in early WOTL, I figured out when clearing both sides when we did Undead side first, after we did Scarlet side (everyone was still looking for stitches, orbs, thread, etc.) I found out the the yellow Hearthsinger Forresten had respawned in the same dungeon instance but in a different location! One guy I was carrying asked me if he could get the Piccolo if it dropped because I had gotten it earlier. We killed him and he didn't drop it. I told him to hold on and we moved on to the other spots he spawns and there he was again, respawning after a few seconds. After we both had our Piccolos, I told him I would stay in the dungeon while he went to town to recruit more people so we could get them their Piccolos. 3 hours and 80 Piccolos later, Ironforge was in CHAOS.
The Rocket Helmet obtained in a quest in Area 52 was originally an actual helmet you could wear on your head, having the appearance of those helmets some of the irradiated gnomes wore in Gnomeregan (it's red, but a white recolor of this helmet can be made and worn and used by Engineers). It was later turned into a toy. I still wished it existed as a transmog without the Engineering and cloth restrictions.
@@SirProdigle I don't think they ever did, all they did was make it so you got a stat bonus for wearing your preferred armor type. Mages could obviously never wear leather or above, for example, and that was in place since Vanilla, but all classes have always been able to wear cloth.
You're agreeing with what he was saying. He said Cloth couldn't be transmogged by anyone else until the Legion change where they turned it into a cosmetic. Open your eyes and use your ears.
@@vilegoblin Word for word, he says: "Up until legion, there was only one restriction on the item, and that was the fact that the hat was cloth, *so only cloth wearing classes could equip it.*" He says equip, not transmog. Furthermore, the text on the screen says "wear", not "transmog". If he meant transmog, he would've said transmog.
Blizz should pay this guy thousands of bucks tbh. Whenever he comes up with an interesting video, I go back playing wow...He made me do it 4 times already in 20 years( 1x end of mop, 2x classic, 1x sod)... When he puts something about lore or comparison about the upcoming expansion, "weirdly enough", the content was already waiting there for me^^. Plz tell me that you earn something from that... But I'm not coming back for toys!
Another thing about Dartol's rod was that you can use it in Winterspring and have people confuse you with the mobs there. They could accidently flag themselves for pvp by attacking you and then you could take them by surprise and destroy them.
Remember that they added an event to the calendar that turns the auction house into a dance party like it used to be with the original Piccolo of the Flaming Fire.
Good video, but you missed a big one - the rat flute. Back then you used to be able to spam it on no cooldown anywhere in the world and anyone in range heard the annoying sound.
I love the WoW toys. I love being affected by other players toys. My favorite has always been the Moonkin Statute. It's so unnoticeable until it isn't. 🤣🤣
One of my favorite items / it was cloth only back in the day now it is a tow. This item was a hat that when used would summon a wolf or coyote. This item is very cool.
Back in Vanilla anyone could equip cloth! The limitation was that if you were a cloth wearer, it was the ONLY thing you could equip. I remember as a hunter, finally hitting level 40 and being able to use Mail, but going through Scarlet Monastery and still ended up with Whitemane's hat cause it looked goofy on my Tauren and was still better than what I had at the time!
I still have my original Dartol's Rod of Transformation. I've made sure it stays perfectly safe at all times. Also up until last xpac I was still hated by all goblin factions since WotLK for my Bloodsail stuff. I kept it as long as I could and didnt feel like grinding out the rep from the random mobs in Tanaris to keep friendly with everyone so I just turned in cloth and lost it. It was very annoying getting around certain areas in old content while hated by goblins.
I loved the pre-nerfed Piccolo toy. Everyone dancing in the AH. There was a guildy that used to to Stratholme nonstop until he got that toy. Me I got it much later while farming the mount.
Note quite a toy but two of my favorite fun items I still have all of these years later are the path of cenarius and Path of illidan. I got them by chance along with a Tabard of Flame in like 2007(?) when they came out with the whole TCG and only break them out on special occasions and for like screen shots. My rogue has a whole bank tab dedicated to super old non obtainable items that are just nice to see every once in a while for nostalgia.

I still have the old Dartol’s rod quest item - I never dropped the quest so when cata came out and they did not remove it from my bags. So I can keep 100% uptime on the rod
The basket of rotten apples was my favorite toy...you could use it to aggro raid bosses and mobs, but it did no damage, so on my hunter i would dismiss my pet, and toss an apple at the boss, feign, and instead of respawning, the boss would go for the nearest raid member ... good times
fun fact about wormhole generators, in WotLK they were not added until after i made a post on the forums ranting about their absence that got thousands and thousands of replies, no cap. so youre all welcome for that.
I unironically get sad when I see the train set. Players today will never be able to experience the irritated groans of players hearing “New toy? For me?!” across the entirety of Dalaran. It’s right up there with the Wrath launch event as “incredibly annoying yet hilarious things that Blizzard will never be brave enough to try ever again”
HOW DO YOU NOT INCLUDE THE TRAIN AND ITS SUBSEQUENT SMASHER?!?! Sorry for yelling but I can remember the train in early Wrath and the HELL it caused lmao Thank god they added the smasher cause it used to drive everyone INSANE in raids haha
Had three toons with Dal Rod, till this expansion when you can be Horde in the same guild. Found out the hard way, don’t faction change or it gets deleted. 😢
Pasted from my other response: He was absolutely talking about cloth only being xmoggable by cloth players until the legion change to turn it into a cosmetic item so ALL people could use it. Maybe if you actually listened to the video you'd know that. 🗣️

The fact that people get so offended by toys such as the piccolo or others basically speaks volumes as to how awful the community is at times. It doesn't harm you or anyone and yet they had to nerf it and add items to stop its effects? Soft lol.

sadly though you cant get away with that anymore

Yeap. As a human I would always turn to an orc with a scarlet like set and herod's shoulder.

I have it on my Night Elf druid, but it was completely by accident, I just hadn't logged into my Night Elf toon while leveling her in Classic.
Bloodsail Admiral has been my go-to title since I got it in 2010
Interesting anecdote on the orb of deception: Back in Vanilla during an MC raid the Sulfuron Harbinger died up on the wall so high no one could reach him. Except... a gnome with the Orb, who turned into a Tauren.
Tauren's increased hitbox size allowed her to reach the boss and let us all know what loot the boss had dropped.
as a gnome main, I've done that a few times in modern WoW!~ :3
My hunter still has the original pre cata Dartol’s Rod of Transformation.
I've never even taken it out of my bag! Same with the Haunted Memento. Still sad that was nerfed, though.

Fairly certain the booty bay guards, were scaled with expansions just like any other city/hub guards to discourage pvp in cities/questing hubs

I have all of these toys except Steam Tonk and Dartol's Rod. And I'm also glad Blizz added Toy Box,cause during MoP,my bank was like 50% toys...
Honorable mention to the garrison and Dalaran hearstone. I'm so used of having them in my cast bar that I forget they once were taking space in my bag.

When did they even add armour locking? Feels like it was Cata or MOP

glad i have most of the toys listed in the video
omg, whoever did the ring throwing sequence really need to practice more XD its hard but not that hard once you watch the turtle for a bit XD
It's not the only way to have a snowball fight all year round ! The blizzard bear mount from blizzcon drops them every few seconds!
Piccolo of the flaming fire + cooking fire!!! Pants off dance off at capital cities after raiding while flexing new raid gears. Best vanilla memory.
A top ten list of trolling toys. We all know swapblaster would be number one though haha

Steam tonk controller is Hunter BIS. You can use it in combat for a free pet save.
With all my alts, I probably got 30 Winter Veil Disguise kits over the years.

yet another great video, it amaze me that u are able to still find top 10 topics but non the less i enjoy listening to u always very well done :D

Yea i am sure this wont have a vanilla wow item at #1 guys i swear
I think the furbolg is my oldest toy !
Try weakest "boss" level mobs in game by lore
still have my original rod its my most treasured item :)
Level scaling was added in Legion not Shadowlands.
what toy could summon a giant and grab the player to hit the ground?
