How to Cook Chilean Seabass

  • Seared Chilean Sea Bass on an island of garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach surrounded in roasted red pepper sauce.
    I start by cooking the Sea Bass Steaks Sous Vide and then sear them in a hot cast iron skillet. The fish is flaky, buttery, and soft while still holding a texture that pairs perfectly with softness of the potatoes and sautéed spinach. The roasted red pepper sauce is so creamy with a bite of vinegar to round out all the flavors.
    I made this Chilean Sea Bass recipe for my wife's birthday and she says it's one of the best meals she has ever had. Thats a win win!

    Okaaaaaaaay. So you showed us what you did. But I’m missing some KEY details. Temp of the cast iron skillet? Time to cook before flipping?! Bro. Sea bass is way too expensive to not have that critical info. The Fish was great looking but your competition on this platform doesn’t make those mistakes. Re do it so I can smash that like button and maybe even subscribe. C’mon maaaan 🤷🏾‍♂️

      I appreciate you watching the video and taking your time comment. I agree, this could be confusing because I did leave some details out while including others. I also didn’t mention that the full recipe link is in the description. Which is the way I’ve started going on all of my videos is to not include any of those details and that if you’d like all the pertinent info then just follow the link. Would love to know how you feel about that as I’m still pretty new to my blog and TH-cam channel. I would like for them to work well at complimenting each other.

    This came into my feed and recently I found Chilean Sea-bass at Costco and just love it. There's got to be 10,000 way to cook it and as I was watching, I really liked your approach and production value and said to myself, with already 1.1 million subs, I'm in. So I subscribed and then saw that I had misread the numbers. But maybe I didn't, because I know the day will come where that number will be a reality. As a youtube old-timer, I can discern when the elements for success are present and I have predicted many other channels' success and enjoy giving encouragement to rising stars...
    Don't let the turkeys get you down and don't give up. It will tale some time, but you will get there... ❤🐾

    That's some of the worst knife-work I've ever seen cutting that skin off. Just lay the skin side down on the cutting board and press the knife flat against the cutting board as you run it between skin and flesh. You look amazingly amateurish doing this.

    Gorgeous. Great video. Love the music! I made a couple from Costco last night - skin on, fried in canola oil. I didn't get that golden brown crust though. Ours was a little more "dirty" looking but it did have a bit of a crust and was oh so good. It went great with asparagus (also lightly fried in canola oil), mashed potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Next time I may add just a bit of cayenne to the sauce to give it a hint of spice but it worked with everything on the plate. I wish I could get that great golden brown crust figured out! I'll keep trying...

      I feel like it gives more flavor to the fish. I don't eat the skin always just the mood I'm in but the fish almost always taste better, well, I haven't had one that didn't taste bad yet.

    Watching you hack that skin off was nearly unbearable, if you can't do it properly why not just ask the meat cutter to do it, we get paid to do that, I'm sorry they get paid to do that, I'm a chef now, and just looking for some ideas for the new menu, but was a meat cutter for a couple years at fresh market so yeah, just ask my man, or learn how it's really easy, and much quicker and less wasteful, also sharpen your knife maybe I dunno, I use $12 and $5 sharpeners from wal mart at work because I never have time to use my whetstone there, but also very easy and cheap.

      @@conmanmcgregor1155 I love curries, especially Thai curry that is more traditional, meaning not thick. In the consistency of a thin Thai curry, yes, the sauce is similar. But inno way is it the same
      When it comes to flavor.
