- While the number of Covid cases continues to surge in Mumbai, the BMC has reported that only 15% of its hospital beds are in use. Ninety percent of the cases continue to be asymptomatic, however.
The civic body also released a new set of rules, as per which, all buildings which have had over 20% of their occupants infected, will be sealed. The body will also place patients under a 10-day isolation period.

The Arab had a camel. Everyday Arab used his camel for carrying his things one place to another place.

USA hospitalisation data is incentivised. Also a key difference is they have primarily used Pfizer whereas in the UK we have AstraZeneca and Pfizer. Maybe Barkha you could listen to the JRE episode on Spotify with Dr Robert Malone (inventor of the mRNA technology being used to deliver the pfizer and moderna vaccines) for more insight into what is happening in the US (maybe you can correct them, or not, on the UP situation as well). If such huge decisions are being made in our country with regard to the future of our children we should be fully informed on who we are basing these decisions on.

What are the steps taken by the medical teams if effected by omicron after hospitalised, please make people aware about the medication that you are going to give to treat omicron.
Hope science is followed more than bureaucratic insensitivity. And it looks like we have the right person at the right place. He is making informed and intelligent decisions. Hope it stays that way.

Barkha only creates fear with chasing case numbers.would u create so much hype if it was a common cold? The epidemiologist on her own show said if u dont have core morbidities then omicron is like a cold or headache.so why the importance of case numbers?if its harmless to most why the hype of transmission?
Media wants to sensationalise everything, but chahalji knows what is best for our city.
This mild omicron is a blessing in disguise, highly transmissible, but less infective. It is actuall good for herd immunity

Dear Barkha, Like how the medical sector has many professionals getting ill and straining the medical fraternity in coping with the rising illness , schools and colleges have no scope for social distancing and masking many teachers and their families are getting ill . Like in US where the student teacher ratio is lesser ours is 40 students to 1 teacher . A private engineering college has a strength of 7000 students in campus everyday. Where do we have the space for social distancing.

Once vaccinated, even if one contracts omicron, the body is ready to fight it, hence the symptoms are mild. Am a micribilologist. Vaccination is the answer for protecting oneself.
