    I’ve commented it before, and I’ll say it again…that is the most unique and beautiful way to use flame maple I have ever seen. Most people would be horrified to cut up such a nice figured wood, but your design is out of this world. The guitar looks great in every way. What kind of tail piece/tremolo is that? Good luck!

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you again for the genuine compliment, I truly appreciate it. The bridge is a hipshot TOM (of course), and the tailpiece/trem is a Duesenberg Les Trem 2. It’s an awesome tremolo, and I actually built the guitar around it and the single nickel P90 from @rightoussoundpickups. The trem is similar to a bigsby in feel, but the engineering is out of this world.

Guitars and cars… originality gets more difficult all the time. Cheers!

    What was that tune around 2:05? It sounds like a riff on "Dam that River" ... sounds awesome. And the guitar looks awesome. Nice to see it come together.

      Thanks again Mark for following along and for the amazing compliment(s)! I only build 10 per year, so I will never be a “production” shop. It takes too long to make these things as cool as I want them to be. Thanks again brother, I really appreciate it! Cheers!

    Finishing is always the most time consuming and nervewracking part of the process for me. Sand just a little too hard on an edge and burn right through. I have done it more than once. Great job. I would encourage you to invest in a spray system for your lacquer spraying. It more than pays for itself after a just couple of bodies. Rattle cans aren't cheap and don't have the best coverage.Using a spray system gives better spray patterns and less waste.

      Someday…. I typically only use hand-rubbed oil finishes, so this was a new adventure for me. Thanks again!

      it looks like you didn't have to go through a lot of effort in painting or sanding it and the gloss looks great from what I can tell in the video.

      @@kmatax9237 yeah… I have through 1500 in eagle abrasives, and then up to 8000 in the 3M wet/dry papers. After that… very little buffing was needed. And… I did wait 3 weeks for the lacquer to fully cure.
