Making a Guitar - Handmade Electric Guitar Build - All the Steps for a Tele (well... most of them)

  • A friend wanted a guitar! This is a build that from time to time while I was in the shop I would hit the record button. I didn’t catch everything, but I did capture most of the steps. When my friend Mike asked me to build him a guitar, he was able to show up and pick out every piece of wood from my stash. This tele has a roasted swamp ash, semi-hollow body; a Bastogne/paradox walnut droptop; cocobolo fingerboard; and a killer flame maple neck! The pickups were handpicked by Mike by listening to tones from @righteoussoundpickups. Hopefully you enjoy it, and as always, please ask any questions you may have. Thanks! Tye

    It's a neat Idea that you are using a board covered in the tape to clamp up the different parts of the guitar body and blank. Making it easier to both clamp and remove once the glue dries sense the glue doesn't stick very much to the tape.

    • @shockthefox
      @shockthefox  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only do about 10 builds per year by choice. I don’t want this thing that I love to be a “production”. This particular guitar with these specific woods would be ~3-3 1/2K. Hopefully my answer isn’t rude. How long... not sure. I only do one at a time so I can focus on each individual guitar.

      Shock The Fox Hello and thank you for the quick reply. We (the BF and I) loved the cut wood sunburst video too. The yellow you started with was amazing. Not that it didn’t end up spectacular, because it did. The price you noted for the above video is more than fair, if not low. So much time goes into it. Nothing like handmade!👍🏼

    • @shockthefox

      I’d rather the people that buy my guitars make money when they sell them. I price them to make a few bucks and that’s it. Thank you so much for following along! I liked the all yellow also - but I was convincingly talked out of it.
