Sounds exactly like I remember my first and second car did 😎😎

I must admit I’m rather jealous of how easy yours was to install. I’ve just spent two days fitting an Acuuspark kit on my Bedford CF camper. Had to remove the whole distributor and remove the oil pump gear, the pin that hold it in place broke into two, then wouldn’t run at all no matter what I did. So back to points and condenser and hey presto back to square one again! But I’m just happy to having it running. Love the progress on the Fiesta buddy. Keep it up 👍

Oh no, that sounds deeply irritating, I'm sorry to hear that.

Wish those electronic ignition kits had been available when I was running mine.

Excellent work, the engine sounds beautiful & brings back great memories, you are certainly working your magic

Good job, smooth and healthy sound from the engine at the end. Must be a joy to work at, with such simple technology and so much space!

I need to get either a mk1 or mk2 Fizza. I miss mine, I have a 2006 Mondeo ST and trying to do a starter motor on it was a pain. I want simplicity again lol

Thanks. Great info in this vid. I just got a Haynes Ford Escort Mk.3 manual and am learning how the car works in detail and hope to find my own project car too.

Oh that will be exciting: I do love a mk3 Escort

@@MorselsAndMotors I agree how you describe the Fiesta's Valencia engine as a tapetty and with the hollow exhaust. And I also like the Escort 1.3 CVH with it's self-assured cam follower driven droney noise....if that makes sense

Sounds sweet! You almost looked shocked how quickly it fired up :)

I put Artic Silver MX-6 thermal grease to my electronic ignition and works amazing, it runs a couple of degrees lower than the white generic that comes on the kit. According to the Infrared Thermometer.

      That's interesting, thank you

I'm so envious lol, in all honesty I much prefer your mk1 to the red mk3, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this! Engine sounds great, and no doubt as tough as old boots. Looking forward to the next installment!

I've a huge soft spot for both the mk1 and the mk3. I will have to do a comparison video soon...!

Good progress again. Not sure if this is on your list, but it looks like it could do with some new engine and gearbox mounts 😀

    • @MorselsAndMotors
      @MorselsAndMotors  ปีที่แล้ว

Oh right, I hadn't actually noticed. I am intending to drop the sump to clean the oil pickup and replace the leaking sump gasket, so I'll have to take the engine mountings off then anyway. I'll get some ordered, thank you

@@MorselsAndMotors It just looked a bit wobbly and they are cheap so if they have not been done recently you may as well do them!

In my college class we have one of these engines that runs on a stand and I spent an hour fine tuning her and she ran like a sewing machine when I was done

I wouldnt do the electronic ignition especially if its accuspark as they are cheap nasty chinese rubbish, i run points in all my cars and never had an issue and you know where you are with them, everyone ive known who has fitted accuspark has had issues and cause rought inconsistant running, if you must go down the electronic ignition route, use an electronic ignition from a mk2 fiesta,

  • @Richard-Bullock

Why oh why oh why did they ever have to make cars more complicated than that?
