I'd like to thank you for this, I'm new to knitting on any machine, but I'm giving this a go, today, I've never knitted anything like it before, I can't use needles as I've got bad hands, so a circular knitting machine keeps me knitting without pain , thank you for the videos hopefully there will be many more.
Lovely! I've only had my addi in the post this morning, it's still in the box lol. I think after I've tried it out by making a hat, I am going to try your method in miniature to make a cardigan for my little grand daughter. Thank you for sharing it :-)

I have been trying for months to figure out why you need to subtract from the measurement. I was using the closed captions. You say mine is. And they wrote minus. I finally got it.
The E wrap creates a finished edge. If you do the in front behind method or do rows of waste yarn then you have to finish the edges by hand later. This video explains a few different types of cast on and what they should be used for: th-cam.com/video/JN5to9dtsMA/w-d-xo.html
The E wrap is a finished cast on. The regular in front and behind cast on leaves live stitches on a strand of yarn. You could do that type of cast on but it won’t be at all stretchy and the stitches will slide about on the strand of yarn. That would depend on the yarn you are using. Try using the formulas I showed at the start to try and figure it out, or it might just be easier to knit a panel on you machine and find out 😉
I assume this is in the P (panel) setting. I cannot keep my yarn from falling off the loop casting on using the E method. Also, if only casting on 45 stitches, do you then go 2 more past to ensure the stitches stay on? Guess this is more for the experienced. I just got my Sentro so may have to circle back.
I always just leave my machine on tubular. I have a video coming out today explaining the E wrap method in more detail. If the last stitch keeps falling off try casting on 44 instead of 45.
I never block my work. I did put it in the washing machine and then the tumble dryer and hang it in my wardrobe. It became a lot longer just to the weight of it being hung but it doesn’t roll that much except on the neckline but I quite like that look.

Thanks to your reply and Address of your :How to work out gauge in the Sentro Knitting Machine", I found that video and it makes so much more sense. Like another viewer The Closed Caption said minus (-) instead of Mine is. So that really helped. Thanks again.
Not yet. I do have a lace sweater tutorial out which has sleeves. I’m sure you could attach those sleeves or even make some really long wrist warmers in the same yarn as the summer cardigan and wear those when it’s cooler but you still have a summer cardigan too. Thanks for the tip on the captions. I’ll see if I can figure out how to fix that 😊
Sorry, in USA we are not so good with metric system. I used my pone and ask it for equal value in inches and rounded to whole number. 165 cm = 65 inches and 10 cm = 4 inches (rounded). So, I should divide 65 by 4 to get number of rows and stitches? 1 cm squared = 0.155 inches. But I still do not understand how that gave you 1.9 rows and 1.4 stitches.

@@sarahfitton3192 I used the E wrap method on this one as it was a finished edge and it’s quicker than doing a normal cast on that you have to finish off later. Knit 2 rectangles and join them together in the way I describe at the end. Maybe try following a standard pattern if it still doesn’t make sense. Ravelry.com has lots for free. Good luck.
