Thank you for a pattern with actual finishing work done. So many of the sentro videos of garments are just slapped together with no hand-finishing work and end up just looking like a hot mess. Great job, beautiful cardigan.
The moment I heard the Ouran high school host club theme song. I literally got chills and immediately subscribed lol this is a beautiful sweater !! absolutely amazing work!!!!
You look around my age and I LOVE this tutorial because I’ve never come across a pattern for a real clothing item (not a scarf, hat) that I think is really cute and fashionable. I think you might be able to save time on the crochet by following the technique for “flat panels that don’t curl.” Basically it involves doing 5 rows (in this case you would do them in white) and… well I will try to put the TH-cam video I saw on this. It actually involves purposefully going back and dropping every other stitch, then crocheting from the bottom up and reattaching. I’ll try to post that video. It might not work for things like the sleeves where you want to cinch it it, but I think it would give an almost identical look to every other white part
Thank you! I appreciate your comment 🥰 and I agree doing ribbing with machine knit stitches is definitely a good way to save time! I would have done the bottom that way but I wanted to have a cinched bottom hem as well! But thank you for your suggestions, hope you have a great day 😊
I get to see the machine for the first time 😊😊..here i see women making them knitting manually and I am already awestruck by their creativity ❤❤..with such machine I am sure so many styles and designs can be created...love it . 👏.. beautiful they are ..thank you for sharing
Beautiful! I love the mix of Sentro knitting and crochet. Great way to make buttonholes. To decrease, youo could try to move second stitch to third stitch and move first stitch to second position. That way the decrease is not in the seam, making the seam easier, and it is less likely to tuck when you turn. Also, another way to make a stretchy ribbing, double crochet front post, back post, front post, back post all the way around, adding rounds until you have the width you desire.
@@ilovebigafrobaddies it was very easy! I just changed a few things, like size (I didn't want the super puff sleeves) and finishes (did it with knitting). Last month I did another one, with the same differences
@@anniemannie6 I did panels. Started from the bottom up, because it was easier to increase stitches, so every few rows I would make more, depending on the size I wanted
Oh nooo :( itsz machine tutorial, i was super excited because i purchased my needles haha, well, still a cute project! Might as well buy a machine like yours ❤
Super cute! A little variation for you to try, if you don't want to sc all the way around the ribbing to give it a straight, neat edge, what I do is sc through both loops of that end stitch. I tend to do it on both the last stitch of the first row, and the first stitch of the second row (or you can just stick to one or the other depending of how firm you want the ribbing.) I hope that makes sense?!
Honestly what you're doing is magic to me, but I really enjoyed watching and learning about machine knitting! What's the simplest thing I can make with it to get started?
Awh thank you! The classic machine knit make would be a beanie, it's a simple tube and pulling the yarn at the end and turning it into itself makes a hat 🥳 I might make a video on it but there are lot of tutorials :)
Wish the machine was able to make the back panel as one piece, so we wouldn't have to make it 2 pieces and sew together. That innard sewed part looks weird :( But it looks awesome on the outside. I will save your video to my playlist as I am thinking of buyin this machine in a near future.
Hello! To make one front panel you can start on hook 1. And for the 2nd front panel you can start from hook 40 as it will make decreasing on the opposite side easier :)
Hello! I did a single crochet decrease along the (48 stitches) and slip stitched into the start to make a round. This should make 24 stitches total, as I wanted the cuff to be smaller than the sleeve. I hope that helps! I'm planning on making a written pattern but it will take some time to pattern test for different sizes.
Hello! Yes, it is possible to do it by hand! This is made of 4 panels and 2 tubes :) I have all the stitch counts at 3:30, you could do the same by hand with the stockinette stitch For the 2 front panels I have some decreases to create the vneck, it might be helpful to watch starting at: 06:23 just to get an idea After sewing by hand the trim and cuffs are done with a crochet hook, hope that helps!
Definitely! I think 5.00mm needles would be the equivalent size, if you pause at 3:32 I have all the row and st counts as well as inch measurements for the panels
How I calculate row & stitch count are in this video: th-cam.com/video/UHtIvaq1IM4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0BDkoKC8EXCYXcfO (it's for a sweater vest but i used the same methods for this cardigan) ♡
Omg the cardigan looks amazing, I really wanna try to make one, but I don't have the thing you use to do it and willing to crochet it... Do you know which type of points/knits you use for it ?
Hi! I think 5.00mm knitting needles would be a close match to the knitting machine. You could definitely follow the same stitch, rows, and decreases with hand knitting!
Hey! Thank you so much for your tutorial! I have a quick question - when you switch colors are you cutting the yarn or are you just putting it back in the center?
Hey, thank you! I just put the yarn back in the center but later I cut and tied them together. I find it a bit faster to do it at the end of you have enough length to :)
Hi, I'd recommend 45 sts for the start of the back and front panels! But to be sure I'd make one panel first and and lay it over a cardigan that fits me well to see if it's about half. From there you'll be able to gauge the size and stitches, hope that helps :)
Hi! You should be able to do a slightly smaller one by casting on 36 for the body panels. The difference would be around 1 inch smaller in the sleeves and 2 inches on the body. Mine was oversized for a size Medium, I hope that helps!
Hi there! In the tutorial I made my sleeves 86 rows but I found it was too long for me so I recommend doing 66 rows, I show all the st and row counts at 3:31 :)
Waste yarn is used to surround your working panel, sometimes the first and last few rows can have less tension or dropped stitches so using waste yarn can help prevent that. Later you would remove it and people generally use yarn they don't like for this that's why it's called "waste yarn", hope that helps! There's lots of tutorials around it too :)
Hello! You can make the slipstitches with very loose tension, if needed you can try using a crochet hook that's a few sizes bigger to make sure the slipstitches are staying loose
@@kims_threadsThank you so much! I wasn't sure if those were the initial goal measurements, or if those were the final measurements once it was completed.
Hello! For my dimensions at 3:32 I cast on 40sts for the bottom, for a 40 pin machine it might be hard to do, you can try it with looser tension or adjust the st count to be less, maybe 35sts instead. I hope that helps!
Hello, I have a 48 hook machine! For my dimensions (3:32) I cast on 40 sts for the front and back panels. You may need to adjust the sts counts to be less depending on how many hooks yours has
@nombre2745 you can use the shoulder measurement centered on your body (at 3:32) to find where the sleeves starts on your arm. Then measure the length of your arm, the sleeve is (14 inches for 66 rows) but keep in mind the cuff is an extra 3 inches. I hope that helps!! 💗 I'm planning to make a more descriptive video on how I gauged everything but it might be a couple weeks before it's posted!
