Okay, let me say some things and make some suggestions. When your hair is already damaged, you can't use a brand like Briogeo, and have your hair coming out silky soft. Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair line to keep your hair from getting even more damaged than it already is, to help you grow out your hair. You can't fix damaged hair, and no matter how well bleached your hair is, it's going to damage the shaft. Briogeo doesn't have a lot of silicones in it, whereas others do to give the idea that your hair is "fixed" when in reality it is still fucked, haha. Doesn't make silicones bad, though.
Here is my suggestions: I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend you search for a clarifying shampoo. Your hair will build up with products over time and cause your hair to feel even more dry. Try the Neutrogena Clarifying Shampoo, the clear one. Use it once every two months if you only wash your hair once a week.
I also suggest doing a preoil treatment on your hair before shampooing, etc. I use this oil called leonor greyl. Not going to lie, it's expensive but it's a cult product here in France. It comes in a glass bottle and if you order it, the product is solidified. You will need to put some warm water in a sink or bowl, and then let it sit in there to melt it. Might have to do this during winter, too. Put a cap full in your hair and brush it through. Let it sit for 10 minutes or overnight. Shampoo and conditioner, and even do a mask if you want, with your regular shampoo. I'm telling you, this stuff is amazing and will help to keep moisture in your hair after drying. You can do the preoil treatment every 3rd or 4th time you have washed. So no need to do it each time you wash. But if you're washing your hair twice each time, like I saw in the video, do it every other time.
Change up your products. For one month, I will use Briogeo, then the next month I will use Kerastase Resistance line (helps to keep hair healthy so it can grow long), then I will switch to Christophe Robin, and then return back to Briogeo after. If you use the same product over and over, your hair will start to get used to it and not work as well. So switch it up.
I also highly suggest the kerastase hair oil in the golden bottle. This shit is from the gods!
If you don't already, put your hair in a night bonnet. This keeps my hair from getting so tangly. Don't forget to use a heat protective cream. I suggest kerastase.
I also have this kind of thick textured hair, even though I'm white, but my dad has curly kinky hair (like an afro)and my mom has big, thick hair. So I was graced with a shit ton of curly and thick textured hair, and this is what has been working for me. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

@@katyakazakova6712 the whole curly girl method is a gimic. And while I think people like to assume it works, it actually is just the time that people are putting into their hair that makes the change. Like how the difuse their hair, or plop their hair, or do the squish method. I have done those tricks but with products that are usually band from the curly girl method, and girl...my hair literally looks the same. I just used different products with the same techniques. The only thing I would say that makes a difference is no-poo products.

For any strengthening products you don’t get that hydrating soft feeling because of the protein that’s making the hair strands strong . You can try the superfood kiwi mask , that’s a nourishing/hydrating mask

Since it was asked in the video if we had used it and how it went for us. I have the briogeo don’t despair oil and it works with my hair. It’s thick and a little wavy. It helps me not be frizzy. It wasn’t greasy at all.

I use a very moisturizing leave in after the repair mask. It's a wonderful mask for repairing or maintaining the integrity of the hair. It is high in protein therefore a moisturizing leave in will help your hair feel softer. 😊

I have similar hair texture and I love all of those products except the oil. I used the oil as a pre shampoo treatment instead. I also don’t use any silicones in my hair. If you are used to silicone products then these won’t have the same effect. If you use silicones in any other products I don’t think this shampoo will fully cleanse your hair because it’s not using strong sulfates. Also, I’m not sure if you use olaplex but that worked amazing when I bleached my hair.

This was a great review! I used Brigeo for a year with pretty decent results. I used the whole line you reviewed. I loved the charcoal scalp product and still do. I used to love the infamous Briogeo mask; however, it stopped working for me after a year. I started using their products when I went blonde. After I went for the second round of full highlights, the mask did nothing for me. I stopped using the whole line. What has been working for me now that I’d love to recommend to you are two products from Pureology: Superfood Hydrate and Superfood Strength Cure. Super moisturizing for my curly blonde hair. Great video as always! Xoxo

I think you're right about the coconut oil/hair texture thing and wonder if this mask is more suited for people with finer hair-I'm white, with 2Bish longish, wavy, fine but dense hair that's prone to dryness and I have never used a conditioner that even comes close to this one! Been using the mask as my main conditioner for about a year: before, I hated how frizzy my hair was right after washing, but now wash day and the day after are my best hair days!
I had the same experience as you with the oil, though-Even running two drops through my ends makes my hair look greasy! I do like their Farewell Frizz oil, though (key is applying while your hair is still damp)!

I've not even used these products yet, but I ordered them because I love trying new things and was really intrigued by the ingredients of some of Briogeo's products.
Buuut, as I've understood, the Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Hair mask should only be used once a week because it contains keratin. So maybe just use the Dont Despair, Repair mask once a week and/or combine it with the Kiwi + Avocado mask from Briogeo. So if you're using a hair mask every time you wash your hair (I do for example because I only wash my hair twice a week), I would not use the Dont Despair, Repair both of those times.
