The prie is a bit steep, but as you said, it's targeting richer, western markets. Eeryone who's made their own library knows how much work that actually is. Well curated 4TB library is more work than I'm prepared to put in myself tbh. Still, that 96TB library tho... From what I've seen, not everything is playable currently, no one's going to live long enough to play all that, and it costs like a used car, but man, bragging rights!

Definitely about to buy one of these. I just finally got a PC that can properly handle stuff probably up to WiiU (I mean, it runs Forza Horizon 5 on Ultra, so maybe even newer stuff than that) and I'll tell you this: the price is worth the time saved from fiddling with emulator setup on its own. I was already thinking about getting one, but I went ahead and tried some emulation on my own and...for some of them I spent DAYS trying to get them to run properly only to have something crap out or somehow go completely to shit. On top of that, ROM quality is all over the place. So just for the time save, it's more than worth it. Add the games and it's a win/win. I'm super stoked to be able to finally check out some of the systems I never got to play as a kid, like Saturn. I've never even touched a Saturn controller. 🤘🔥🤘

It’s also literally made in China 😂. It does nothing that the other cheaper ones do. You just have to customize them and add tons/emulators you want. I can’t believe he’s trying to pedal this to his audience

I got my mini RETROBEAST setup today. It truly is amazing, and for those of you complaining about the price, you really don't seem to understand how much time went into putting this together, and in turn, the time that it saved me from having to do it. Very worth the price, in my humble opinion.

Save your money and buy a kinhank 12 tb drive beats the 4 tb koolmod drive hands down. I made the switch and never looked back. At least I got a very expensive backup hard drive after a quick format lol$$$
Speaking of "questionable software"... a bit concerned with the "DO NOT INSTALL ANTI-MALWARE or ANTIVRIUS, DO NOT ACTIVATE WINDOWS SECURITY" notice that popped up in the Discord wiki screen.
This one isn't QUITE plug and play. There is a short setup procedure you need to do (pick a drive letter and install some drivers). The wiki on the drive explains it.
When I get my next check I am in! What a great looking build, and 10 percent off too. How cool is that?! The only disappointment that I have is that with the next update he will be removing ScummVM, which makes me sad because I love adventure games. One of my favorite genres in gaming.

I like this product. It would call it CoinOPSX on steroids. I just bought an Anbernic RG353VS for $94. The price of 4TB microsd cards are dirt cheap. $400 is too much for me to afford. If the price was around $99 I would be a player and it would sell millions. I realize a lot of thought effort and configuration went in to this product. Hoping for a significant price drop down the line. Thanks for the video.
Be careful of those terrabyte SD cards. The largest legitimate size is 1TB and cost around $100. The cheap ones are fake and use a small SD that's been hacked to look like it has the stated capacity. They will become corrupt when you put more data on them than the actual capacity. Usually just a few gigabytes.
This is nice, but too expensive. Maybe one day it would go down in price, in the meantime, I'll play my Console Cube X3. :) Great video, thanks for posting.

I just got mine. I'm a bit sketched out by the exclusions for scans, and the fact that I have to remap my internal D drive (that's gonna break a lot of links.) Looks really cool though, I'll try this on a less important computer to test it.
I had the same issue with my D drive. It's fine though, I had a few programs that relied on D but I reinstalled those and it's all good now. The scan thing I think is probably unnecessary, you can leave your virus scan on, that's only required for his large 96tb drive because it has cracked windows games on it.

Can you tell me if I’m able to just plug-in the retro beast mini into the computer and use it independent of the system that I have now? First, great video. Second, yes, 96 TB video please. Third, for the higher end 3-D games like PS2 and Xbox 360, if I wanted a game that isn’t on the hard drive would I be able to install it on the hard drive provided that maybe I can get rid of games I don’t like or care for? fourth, would it matter in terms of performance if I were to get this hard drive and put it on an SSD?
3rd - definitely, you can easily add your own games. 4th - it probably won't make much of a difference, however some of the larger games would load faster.

Yeah the acemagician would be a good choice, it won't run everything but it will run the vast majority of stuff. Any controller would work well. My personal go-to is just an xbox one controller connected with bluetooth.
Question:.... if I already have a decent PC, is this program/interface something I could just download on my existing computer? I don't feel like I need a portable mini PC to play games, I just need this interface and the roms I think.
How's the gamepad setup? Retrobat will not work with my USB twins wireless vibration control. Not good to find out after spending $100.00 on hard drive

Hey Tech Dweeb, getting ready to take the plunge and buy this drive. I was wondering, I just put together (can't really say built) a PC with a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF w/ Core i5-6600 CPU @ 3.3GHz - 16GB RAM - I installed a GTX 1650 GPU. Do you think that dedicated PC for emulation with be able to play pretty much all the games on this drive. Any comments would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Hard to say. PS2 can be pretty CPU intensive, so that might struggle. And xbox/360 stuff can be hit or miss on lower end gpus. So I can't say for sure, but my bet is that the vast majority of stuff will run fine. Ok Mr. TechDweeb you just gave me an idea. So often you showcase emulating console stuff on PC, but how about emulating a PC on a console or a modern PC (or even on a modernish phone)? What I mean are those old PC games spreading from 8088, 286, 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium 2 era that are impossible or inaccurate to play on modern PC hardware and OS's.. I know you are a console peasant but I wonder with what would you come up with!

So tiny! Hello, I have a saving problem with my v90! When I load Pokémon Crystal and finished the Prof’s quest and I saved. When I came back to the game a few minutes later the save isn’t detected by the game even though I saved in the game. I used a mint new sd card and it has the miyoo software. Please help
Emulation is the way to go now as you can get games of the net for free and now all these new Emulation consoles, PC's and what have you that comes out.esp now that Microsoft is dumping all their roms.

Yup you should be good to do that. The stuff you do with the Retro Beast will not affect the stuff you have on your PC already.

Maybe consider selling the ISO (with no games) and let the user set it up.

Can you play this on the Asus Rog Ally? It is a window console? If so I get this over the 1tb SD card.
First, great video. Second, yes, 96 TB video please. Third, for the higher end 3-D games like PS2 and Xbox 360, if I wanted a game that isn’t on the hard drive would I be able to install it on the hard drive provided that maybe I can get rid of games I don’t like or care for? fourth, would it matter in terms of performance if I were to get this hard drive and put it on an SSD?
3rd - definitely, you can easily add your own games.
4th - it probably won't make much of a difference, however some of the larger games would load faster.

Yeah the acemagician would be a good choice, it won't run everything but it will run the vast majority of stuff. Any controller would work well. My personal go-to is just an xbox one controller connected with bluetooth.

Not the front end, it's a Windows program, but you would be able to use the ROM files as long as you set up the emulators yourself on your Mac.
It looks really great, in fact perfect. I wish it didn't have, modern, still available to buy products. I want something with that amount of care and love putting it together, but only from 1970's to 2004.

Hey Tech Dweeb, getting ready to take the plunge and buy this drive. I was wondering, I just put together (can't really say built) a PC with a HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF w/ Core i5-6600 CPU @ 3.3GHz - 16GB RAM - I installed a GTX 1650 GPU. Do you think that dedicated PC for emulation with be able to play pretty much all the games on this drive. Any comments would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
Hard to say. PS2 can be pretty CPU intensive, so that might struggle. And xbox/360 stuff can be hit or miss on lower end gpus. So I can't say for sure, but my bet is that the vast majority of stuff will run fine. I'm not sure exactly what's on here, you'll have to ask in the Kriscoolmod discord if you need specific answers, but I can confirm there are rom hacks. I remember I found a few alternate versions of Streets of Rage 2 with added characters.

Ok Mr. TechDweeb you just gave me an idea. So often you showcase emulating console stuff on PC, but how about emulating a PC on a console or a modern PC (or even on a modernish phone)? What I mean are those old PC games spreading from 8088, 286, 386, 486, Pentium, Pentium 2 era that are impossible or inaccurate to play on modern PC hardware and OS's.. I know you are a console peasant but I wonder with what would you come up with!

If you go to their product page (www.kriscoolmod.com/team-1) it looks like they list what's in each drive (under the "Retrobeast List 6 Drives" section). They are active in their discord if you need to ask questions.
@@TechDweebyeah I think discord will be best as the website just isn't clear enough. When you go to buy the product you have to select the size but it says nothing about the drive letter or anything as per de description page. So it's not clear what you are buying. I also don't see an option to select external drive or internal. So yeah, discord it is! Love your videos by the way!!

Hello, I have a saving problem with my v90!
When I load Pokémon Crystal and finished the Prof’s quest and I saved. When I came back to the game a few minutes later the save isn’t detected by the game even though I saved in the game.
I used a mint new sd card and it has the miyoo software. Please help

Emulation is the way to go now as you can get games of the net for free and now all these new Emulation consoles, PC's and what have you that comes out.esp now that Microsoft is dumping all their roms.

I do believe the PS3 version of RDR was superior in many ways however the 360 version ran smoother.
