"You know what forward controls are good for? Not a god damn thing." Preach it brother, and on a Sunday morning.
Bringing it to church
It makes me smile to see someone actually doing the job properly. Said it before n I'll say it again. Best Harley Channel on TH-cam.
Thank you 🙏
I'd say it's a mill and lathe combo you been wanting
I converted my 06 Bight Train to chain in 2010. I broke 3-4 belts before that. I know have over 130,000 miles on my bike. Same chain!!!
That’s a lot of miles
Kruesi is allway spitting facts 😂 things that are mandatory to know lol
True, my Sportster 1200 custom came with forwards. Went to test ride an FXLRS with mids and I immediately felt full control of the bike. Mid controls are the way!
Yes they are
Milling machine without a doubt!!
Good point they both have their place
First time owning a Harley and riding it, I went 16” apes straight up/slight forward and forward controls and on top of being inexperienced at the time, I couldn’t take average turns through the mountains at any speed higher speeds than 50mph. Probably could now but point I’m getting at is I wasn’t really riding…after a couple years, I changed it to just straight riser/bar. That made a huge difference. Couple years after that I through on mids….never going back.
Same road for me
Hell yeah brother!!!
Happy Superbowl sunday everyone! But first, my kruesi fix!
Same to you!
Have you ever road a 2018 + Goldwing, you should review one, you know you meet the nicest people on a Honda
I never have, but I would ride one I like them
i am definitely going to redo my sprocket the way you showed , thanks for the tip or lesson
No problem 👍
Great video!
Thanks!
new overhead mill / lathe combo?
I love the feel of my Mids. I like riding fast in twisty roads. It allows you to push your bike more in the corners. Similar to a dirt bike of speed bike
Amen
Texas speed motor in the box. I was ripping a bong when you were talking about it so I apologize if I'm not even close
I wish
I have forward controls ….. but I surely wouldn’t mind riding with Ryan Kruesi 🤘🏻
You’re definitely still welcome to come ride with us anytime
Take them up the Yarnell hill followed to the hill up Mingus to Jerome. That'll have them eating humble pie...
I'm hoping you guys finally got a proper mill in that box
Hahaha I just changed my wheels today and this made me second guess my shit 😂 like 75 foot pounds? I did 65! 😂 it’s gonna BLOW!
I love these tips, guys. Any knowledge is always appreciated 🤘🏼
Glad we could help. Go redo it.
Hale-speed is losing his mind right now 😂😂😂
Never heard of her, ask her how many bikes she’s built.
Had forwards for years, used to chase crotch rockets through the hills scraping pegs, just switched to mids 2 months ago and got one of your custom saddlemen seats. Should have gone mids years ago!!! Might need a derby slider cover now
Hell yes, it’s definitely a game changer
Kruesi: “cheapest dyna build possible.”
Also Kruesi: “brand new tire, brand new wheel, brand new bearings, brand new hardware.”
Just cleaned, brand new looking wheel. Just because I said it’s cheap doesn’t mean it’s not gonna be put together quality.
Lang Thread Restorer Kit, I always, always, always clean out threads, especially in aluminum, and Harleys lol
Amen
Dont forget to get your torgue wrenches calibrated. Its also good idea to have a torque verifier in the shop and keep it calibrated.
That is correct
Same people that invented the sprocket lock also invented forward controls, 😅
😂😂😂
Forward controls on my bagger because it’s just for long lazy leg cruising. Mids on everything else tho 💯
I’m 6ft 4 and I hate forward controls. I wish my road glide had mid controls.
If you have bad knees or other issue forward can work for you. As far as handling you don't see Road Racers using them.
I’m 6’ 4” with not the greatest knees. My though has always been to have mids for the control and ability to ride hard but have a crash bar that doubles as a “highway peg” just to have some space to stretch out if I want
New Mill lathe combo 4shore
Awesome video, those bolts are 7/16-14 if I remember correctly.
That is correct
Mr kruesi, when is a position opening up at the shop??!!
Did someone finally get a new lathe for the shop!!!
Yes sir
My guess is a bigger combo lathe and mill.
New Lathe
🐒 It is amazing how much chassis input I can induce through my lower hands🪄 That's really what it's all about 🍦 control 🔥
I'm 6'8" and hate forward controls. They suck. I can't even stand keeping my feet out on highway bars for more than a few minutes. Mid controls/floor boards are superior in every way.
Yes sir
New drill press or lathe?
You bought a lathe!!
Is it a new mill lathe combo?
Forward controls are for nerds!
got to be a mill and lathe combo In the box
😁😁
I have probably a stupid question, is there not a standard length for the grade 8 bolts? On a late model dyna 06+
No
..and this is why I have a brand new Tactical Torch on the way
Yeeesss
It’s a new lathe with mill?
You finally got a mill/ lathe
😁
I like my floorboards on my electra lol 😂
Crazy I went on your website looking for those cool mirrors you put on the 100 year anniversary build. But couldn't find them. Am I just an old boomer?
www.kruesioriginals.com/products/pro-one-perf-mfg-micro-mirror-w-v2-cut-out-stem?_pos=7&_sid=b7d21a863&_ss=r
I'm just here to see a flame thrower
Lathe in the big box?
My guess is a new Lathe!
Lmao mid controls for the win!!!
New lathe?!
Dealer just supplied arp bolts to fit my pulley to my new wheels. Would you not use these?
Yes they are good as long as there is also a lock washer
I want to move to AZ and work for Ryan... But people moving to AZ is one of his pet peeves 🤣
😁
My question on mid controls is what is the best mid control set up for a 2021 road king? I'm using the Performance machine mod controls right now and I'm not loving it. It does feel cramped on my 6ft 4 frame. So anyone or especially Mr. Kruesi himself if you have a suggestion I would love to hear it.
www.kruesioriginals.com/products/kruesi-originals-fna-floorboards?_pos=1&_sid=d4b16e302&_ss=r
Our floorboards with a short and brake pedal is money. Brings you back 2 inches of 1 inch. Basically every bolt on mid control kit for a Harley Davidson bagger. Kind of sucks they all bolt to the drivetrain it’s more of a rear set than a mid control and it makes your feet vibrate like crazy
Mill/lathe comb
It’s a new mill/lathe
😎
Lathe mill combo
Seeee
New lathe
Lathe ?
I think the box has a lathe
Mill & Lathe combo?
Yes sir
Can you get me a link to the thread chaser used? Cant find a 7/16ths 18 thread chaser.
Jake, in a pinch you can use a bolt, cut a slot lengthwise with a cut off wheel. Dress up the cut and the threads with a good wire wheel. I'm not trying to be funny or make a joke, it really works in a pinch.
I hope this helps.
@@t.s.racing. Yep this is for real. I've done this many times over the years. Works good. I've messed up a few bolts cutting the slot but, I just toss it to the side and grab another bolt.

@KRUESI ORIGINALS - Does it matter if your pulley has been completely powder coated? The guy that did mine completely powder coated it (didn't tape off contact surfaces around the bolt holes or anything). Does that change the need for a sprocket lock or something like that?
Yes, it definitely matters do not run that pulley
The powder coat will push away it will become loose. You will never get a proper torque.
@@kruesioriginalsWould sanding off the powdercoat in the contact areas be an option or is the pulley just toast?
Is it a motorcycle dyno?
Mids are better for control. Forwards are better for nothing. I have forwards on my Sportster Custom. I got a good deal. My next bike will have mids.
Put meds on that one. It’s easy we have kits on our website they’re cheap.
Sportster is the easiest model to switch to mids! NO EXCUSES, CHANGE THEM NOW!
It’s a new lathe
Something I can do with my mid controls on my Dyna that you can't do with front control bullshit ,chase down street bikes on the twisties!!!!
My guess…. Lathe/ milling machine combo
Superballs Sunday!!!!! Gay!
Nice #theraja200
IM gonna show you how to do it right here. 1st you need a $800 torque wrench. LOL
Correct
What's in the box, lathe/ mill combo! Final answer
😁😁😎
If you got forward controls I bet you got boots on your feet. Brother.
Aren’t the threads 7/16-14 ? Not 18……?
Yes, that’s why I said 18 or whatever the fuck it is
Always mids!!!!🎉
Guess--- machine lathe
I decided to rename them “COWARD CONTROLS” 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
I just need to know where you got the flame thrower haha
I bought it at an off-road expo. Very overpriced not worth the money but it was fun.
@@kruesioriginals haha ya. Using the mini propane tank I wondered how fun it was. I saw one Shope had that shot gas I think
So torquing over spec isn’t bad?
What exactly do you mean?
@@kruesioriginals spec in Harley manuals Is 55-60 I believe so I’m saying going over that spec there’s no risk of stripping it or anything? Iv always torqued mine to 60 even on my 127 and 120 and never had any back out
It’s a lathe I bet
I'll come down and ride Yarnell hill with ya....if you come to sturgis and ride vanocker canyon with me.......then we drink at Nemo bar.
I’m definitely real dead a few times. It’s a good time it’s not packed with people.
I’ve seen you in person and if you’re 6’3” my name is John Homes!!!! I’m 6’3” I’m guessing your 5’8-5’9” on a cold day lol
Not even close
lol
@@kruesioriginals
Milling machine
But first of all ALWAYS FXR
It’s a lathe
Forwards might not be as nimble as mids but anyone with skill can definitely smash hard with forwards. Baggers are forwards and everyone smashed tho
Nope
@@kruesioriginalswhat’s nope ha ?
I just use German "goodentight" specs
Terrible
@@kruesioriginals good enough for the who oars I bang. I locktight also. But I'm not working on customer bikes. You definitely do it 100% correctly. Leaving no variables. Nice flavor saver by the way buddy
Fucking Go Chiefs! And Fuck Foward Controls
Damn Chiefs cost me a lot of money last night
Ouch! Go take it out on some tires!
😂
Forward controls are trash 🗑️ end of debate 😂
Someone found a hale comment
A what?
@@kruesioriginals awe now you forgot?
@@kruesioriginals maybe ill remind you.
You’re not 6’3” 😂
Yr right
7/16-18 ? Cant find that shit
I saw some 7/16-14 and 7/16-20
It’s 14
@@ariasmartinezedwinalberto2830 only took a correct install video to show the public how to properly install the gimmick
So many pen*s whispers throughout the vid 😆😆... listen with head phones/earbuds.
Trent got his hands on the microphone
You got ripped if you paid 800 bucks for that torque wrench 😂
Dude that thing is week get real flamethrower.
First thing i did to my dyna when i got it...take off all the old man sh!t n forward controls 🤘🛵
New lathe
