I worked a contract job at Page, AZ. I went down there and walked through that museum and spent about 2-3 hours in there. Def one of the coolest collections I’ve seen.
It’s definitely worth the trip. They’ve got a lot of rad history. We learned a lot more. Just couldn’t put it all in the video.

I never knew that, I had a 70s Harley dirtbike 125 back in the day but I pretty sure it was the force stroke. It never ran.

My dad said his first dirkbike was a hd baja 100.. he Said his buddy's Yamaha 60 would just smoke it. Lol

No it was Ted Kennedy H.D.125 E. Washington St my uncle bought the first xlch sportster in Phoenix Arizona in 1958 used to race Johnny Loper at beeline drag strip in early 60s I was told the ch in xlch still for competition hot it had the p cams in it then the next hd dealership was at 25 st McDowell on south side of McDowell in Phoenix Arizona I've lived here in Phoenix 68 yrs then buddy Stubs moved to cavecreek near Greenway years ago just a bit of history there🤔😎

I'd love to walk around that museum. Good to see all those different countries and manufacturers represented. You Harley guys can be a little xenophobic when it comes to motorcycles (and I say that as the owner of a Dyna Fat Bob). 😊 That Harley Hummer was based on the pre-war German DKW RT125 design that was the first modern ("Schnuerle ported") two-stroke. The patented design was "borrowed" here in the UK to create the Royal Enfield Flying Flea paratrooper's bike in 1939. As war reparations, DKW's drawings were, more or less, just traced, to become the BSA Bantam, although they did change to British standard threads and build it as a mirror image so that the gear lever was on the right. As well as the Harley, there were several Polish versions, a couple of Russian models, and MZ and IFA in East Germany. Even the first Yamaha was a DKW copy.
That bike is something I can have for a lifetime no need for anything bigger or fancier … 🤟

what was your fix for the clutch drag, maybe you can convince the owner of elite to fix the design of his lever haha
There was no fix it’s a new clutch cable so I set them up tight at first so they stretch a bit then I readjust
@@kruesioriginals I found with elite levers the fulcrum of the lever makes the cable pull too short and doesn’t give you enough clutch throw no matter how it’s adjusted there’s always clutch drag with the lever fully pulled in I wound up using older ball and ramp mechanism with steeper ramp angles. Helps, but not perfect.
Pretty sure y’all just need your own dyno at this point
