Michael wasn't just rank 1 in random battles a couple times, he held the no.1 spot almost permanently, mostly with a sizeable lead, for an extended period of time. I'd say it was like that for at least 3 weeks prior to the world championship, could be longer, didn't follow him then. There are more knowledgeable people on him, but he seems to win a lot of different tournaments and stuff.

I like this format, it is super interesting to me how many ways a turn can go and how it actually went on pro-level matches. I don't know how much editing you plan to do on this kind of videos but a suggestion: make the match screen a bit smaller, just small enough so you can stay on frame without hiding the video. This way we can clearly see you and all the information of the match. On the remaining empty space what you can do a couple of things like list the Pokemons of each player, list the active Pokemons of each one with their moves, habilites and items or just use a wallpaper kind of thing to fill the empty space.
Cheers, I can't wait to see more of these!

In a German interview, Micheal said that they played against each other earlier this year. Micheal already had a similar team and he won both matches by clicking Phantom force. Which is why he assumed that Amonguss wouldn't click Spore into the Dragapult slot this time.

Pokémon is a game where sometimes losses are out of your control. Game 1 in this series was a "30% chance to lose and 70% chance to instantly win" for each game. In a Bo5, Michael wins the series.

I think this would be a good idea. Especially since in this case Michael had a better record than Shohei, yeah? 6/1/0 to 5/2/0? So if this match is supposed to matter more than the rest of the matches, by enough to decide the overall winner, then imo it makes sense that this match would be the biggest one, aka best of 5.

That Charlie Brown reference was so on point!
Watching Michael play, I kept thinking about Alex Gomez’s Dragapult-Chien Pao combo that won him NAIC. What made that special was that Alex would always switch in Chien Pao next to Pult on the turn Dragapult would go for the Tera Blas, taking advantage of that unexpected defense drop. Ball was always in his court, not the other way around.
Still an impressive showing from Michael. Who knows what would have happened if Rillaboom didn’t flinch in game 1 😮

Nothing wrong with taking activity wins when your opponent refuses to play. Obviously it's better for the tournament if games are actually played, but 15 minutes is *plenty* of time to show up to an online thing which you scheduled in advance. Show up to your damn games when you say you will and you don't lose on activity.

Wolfey talking about how much damage amonguss took while blocking hp bar is kinda funny but kinda annoying. This is the professionally unprofessional content we signed up for.

I think the real cool thing here is that chien pao threatens anything that would threaten terra water amoongus. Only thing that threaded it was rillaboom and it's too slow to compete with chien pao.
I think it's the perfect lead knowing the other team's build. It provides too many options and vgc players often go for the most efficient plays rather than other options.
Even with switching in to have armor tail chien pao has speed control except against dragapult, however, it can't survive against kany threats as long as amoongus water is there.
One team vs the other I didn't see it playing out much differently than it did given the mons brought to the field.
    Good video wolfe.

12:12 is the audio wrong for anyone else here? He said this part already, earlier in the video... if some observation needed to be cut you could just cut forward idk

That flinch in the first game was so absolutely painful. It sucks so much to have luck completely decide the outcome of a match and that’s why I do hate Pokémon sometimes. Really hurts but hey that’s the game. Good luck next time
