Hey Rick! good to see ya, I was just spinning some Ramsay Lewis earlier this week, not Christmas though, I don't start that until after Thanksgiving lol....Since I got it on vinyl I've got a new appreciation for TURBO, out in the cold is one of my favorite Priest songs...I have that perry record but haven't spun it in years.
@@RonJHaggerty Hey Ron. No Christmas music until after Thanksgiving is totally understandable. I recently gave away about half my Christmas music, but to get in a listen to everything I still have I thought I better get an early jump on it.
Hi Rick, another diverse pile of tunes! The Christmas records look like classics. I have a lot of Ramsey Lewis, but not that one. A true pianist stylist. A note about Judas Priest: Turbo features Dave Holland on drums who was meat and potatoes groove guy but very good; Painkiller introduces Scott Travis who is a masterful technician and burst out of the gate with some of his Racer X chops blazing. I think both drummers brought something significant to the band. Steve Perry is so good. He was a huge influence on Michael English, the gospel singer. Again, we have to love iconic musicians who bring a unique style to the lineage of music. Okay, this comment is getting long! Thank you for the video. I’m spinning lately Level 42, Kenny G, Martina McBride, and we’ll see what else. Peace, Darren @StillLovinMusic
@@reverenddarrenmcclelland Hi Darren! Wow! Michael English! I haven’t thought about him since the 90s. Most of my “Christian” music listening happened in the 90s. I was a huge Chris Rice fan up until the accusations started to fly and he was investigated. Still not exactly sure if he is innocent or not as the charges were never officially brought against him. Anyway, also loved Out of the Grey, 4Him, Avalon, Carolyn Arends, DC Talk and Darrell Mansfield was my harmonica playing inspiration. Hope you have a good Thanksgiving!
@ You mention many great Christian music artists. I have so much gospel, CCM, and when I’m in the right mood, it really inspires. Michael English is my favourite artist of all time-his life, his struggles all play into his character. I spoke to him once, saw him twice, he autographed his book for me (amazing read), and I own all his albums, videos, etc. Kind and humble guy. I hope you and family have a great Thanksgiving. Darren 😊
