Big fan of the video, and really helpful to the average joe out there since you’re only using a dumbbell! Not everyone has 15 gloves and a glove mallet like collectors do lol
biggest tip i recommend is to break in your mitt using a thumb guard to get used to the feeling, and so it shapes around closing with the thumb guard on. if you don't use a thumb guard, get one
I’ve been catching a ton of pens and doing mallet/weight work and my 44pro is still very stiff and also having trouble getting the box break in as well as the top of the glove not closing what should I do
Conditioner is good! I like to condition a new glove once, then every 6 months after that. It keeps the leather from getting dry and crusty. HOWEVER for breaking in and getting a glove game ready, conditioner isn’t necessary. What makes a glove stiff is the inner padding. The only way to break down the padding is by using the glove edit: I stay away from oil because oil usually weighs down the glove and makes the leather darker. As a collector, I use oil on tan and brown leathers to get a nice color out of it, but as far as gloves I use in game it’s not something I think about using
Sweet I have a 44 catchers mitt coming this week I look forward to using your method
Great tip on not only focusing on the heel!

yeah man! I have an evoshield thumb guard for my personal mitt. I didn’t use one for this mitt because I was breaking it in for someone else
I use one of my batting gloves is it the same feeling or should I get a thumb guard?
@@CJY1-020 get a thumb guard, a batting glove won’t do you anything tbh

Tell your pitchers to throw harder! Lol but in all seriousness just keep forcing the shape, and be patient. Some gloves take months to break in
Question: so absolutely no oil or conditioner whatsoever, just malletwork and playing catch?
