Land Rover bonnets are bloody heavy, just lucky there was no spare wheel on it. Even luckier it didn't hit higher up.

If you mean they could have gone to lane 1 regardless of the bonnet:- they were quickly gaining on the next vehicle.
If you mean to avoid the bonnet, they tried reasonably quickly, looks like about a second from when the bonnet starts to fly.
