Pheurbel VLS Thanks 👍! Yeah I was told the scum is a byproduct of the acid they are using to burn the metal back out of the water before it goes to the storm sewer. No jumping spiders on that one 😂, just a really heavy man hole lid.
Should that be running into a storm drain? Where I used to work, anything but storm water into a storm system was bad news. Scummy water from a factory, especially water you were worried about putting your bare hand into, doesn't seem like storm water.
It’s tested weekly by the EPA the maintenance guy was telling me later on. I guess they use the acid in those pits to burn the metal back out of the water. Not exactly sure what the Parts per million of acid in the water has to be to be legal, that’s for higher powers than me. I Always wash my hand first with that kind of stuff to be 100% sure though! Thanks for the question Harley 👍
Easy job, yeah. Expected a small upsurge of residence clogs, commerical properties are pretty smart about flushing stuff as no one wants to be that person who broke the toilet.
As always, great video! That was an interesting job, makes you wonder how that line would clog with almost constant flow (as it seams). We are grateful for any content you put out nowadays with the virus, even simple P-trap cleanouts would keep us entertained. Video idea, if possible, do a tools of the trade, ideas for future purchases, and stuff that has failed on you in the past
You got it Scott! 👍 Man has the virus completely flipped our lives upside down! It always amazes me as well how that can happen, I’m guessing that they get a bunch of heavy scum debris that floats down there when they clean the pit!
Seeing that lid at the end makes me laugh.... I watched a guy open up a mainline sewer in our street, he whent to flip the lid back on like you did and we both watched it dissappear into the hole. Far as I know, it's still down there... Maybe I'll have a look 🤔
@@DrainPros Fortunately it is hard up against the kirb line, so a sheet of ply, sandbags and cones. They came out early next morning to replace the whole frame with a new one.
Have never really thought about it Godzilla! 👍 I’ve seen a bunch of other channels do that, guessing the biggest benefit is organizations for the viewer? Is there any other reason?
Thanks Kempinger, seems like everyday the news gets worst and worst around here. We’re supposed to peek in 10 days so slow days till it’s over most likely 👎
Yeah we do a ton of that kind of work, but the virus has pretty much wiped out all our commercial calls because nothing is open. This factory was open because they have a federal medical equipment contract but other than that it’s been slow!
Drain Prosits magic isn’t it! I worked for an anodizer for three years. Loved every second. For anyone wondering about the water quality, they’d probably have built in “scrubbers” and water purifying processes similar to us her in Australia. Ours here even collect the fumes and break that down into grey water. By the time it hits the sewer it’s safe.
I never have but have definitely come close through the years! Most of the time I hold the flashlight pretty tight. A screwdriver into a grease trap one time 🤦♂️
Quick question... Are u sub-contracted through mr. Rooter or do u work for them?. I was wondering if I could sub-contract through my local mr rooter. Thanks
@@DrainPros oh ok cool, I appreciate the response. I love seeing other people's equipment, u think u could do a video tour of your enclosed trailer? It's similar to mine, keep up the videos. I love drain addict but I actually like your channel and videos better because of the size jetter.
This dude gets all super excited
No jumping spiders in this manhole 🕳. Big and interesting factory producing some scummy water. Great job and thank y’all. 💚💚

Would be be nice to watch your videos in a playlist from first to episode 52 or more keep making great videos

@@DrainPros I think that it is good idea because it's the first video and I just love how you can unclog it so easily and it is fun to watch
Not many do playlists but some need to
It’s a time saver to watch a whole series and not be derailed with TH-cam slipping in some other content in the middle. Also defines a viewing order.
Even the small jobs are interesting.
Thanks! 👍 definitely love the part of the job that I have no clue what I’m being sent to next.. a weird job is just a phone call away sometimes!

all good
Do you ever clean the hoses when they have been in stuff like that ?
Looks like an aluminum anodizing plant
👍 They do a bunch of different things with all types of metal finishing! Pretty cool to see the process from acid dipping to powder coating!

Is this a sewage treatment plant?
have you ever dropped a flashlight while looking down the manholes?
