That’s awesome, I have never heard of that before but it seems like a great idea.. if people are cleaning out the basket routinely I’m sure that stops all kinds of issues from happening down the line 👍

Now, with video, the idiots that are patients and workers should have to learn. When the clog was broken through, oh my! You did a awesome job. Thanks for educating people, one clog at a time!
When I was younger I remember many hospitals and public buildings had small wall mounted electric incinerators in bathrooms for nappies, feminine hygiene products etc. Reduced anything non flushable to a few specks of ash. Perhaps it's time they made a comeback?
That would be awesome, I understand why some people flush them because there gross and covered in stuff. There’s an embarrassment factor. Seems like a logical solution 👍
Spencer Wilton Good point. DrainPro is probably right about the embarrassment issue and you also have maybe limited movement after surgeries and so on. But watching this unclogging, it struck me that the hospital has a responsibility for health and safety. I mean, there sure were tissues and crap in that clog which should not have entered any public system due to the bacteria and other nastiness they might contain. So the incinerator (with high enough temperature to destroy whatever is thrown at it) idea is not a bad idea. On the contrary - they could even construct it so that it contributes to the general heating, heating of water or similar.
Unless constructed so that is contributed to building or water heater incinerators use a large amount of energy and produce awful pollution which is probably why they aren't used for that
Maybe the laws are different in Australia, or maybe it's because Ratty is such a strict supervisor, but I don't think Ollie would have let all that trash go down to the City. I've watched DA enough to know that he would have scooped out as much of that trash floating in the first manhole as possible before he jetted. He probably would have had a strainer basket at the exit of the 8" pipe in manhole 2 so he could catch the trash already in the pipe and toss it in the bin where it belongs. Finally, I'm betting he would have jetted the line heading to the city sewer as well just to make sure it was all good.
Ok so the 607 area code on the side of your van caught my attention. I have family in upstate NY. My mom used to work at the Hospital in Binghamton, my dad worked for Salameida's. They both grew up in the Greene area and my cousins own Seebers Tavern. I live in NC.
Might I suggest that if you could build a pole with legs at a 45 degree angle to each other and perpendicular to the pole, with a light or two mounted to the pole so that it can be lowered down the side of the hole, that you would have a convenient source of light that would be out of the way of the hoses and that they could not knock down into the sewer.

Little known fact, rubber gloves will cause serious blockages especially the heavy nitrile ones and it only takes one. What happens is the glove will travel down the pipe to a random spot where it fills with water like a balloon and effectively blocks the pipe and the water pressure behind it keeps it inflated and jammed. Usually the only way to clear them is to snake the line, jetting often will not budge them.

How do you get a flexible hose to work its way up at a pipe at that angle, and shoot water out, and work past blocks, without pulling it through? at 2:00 you just flopped it in and then it started going deeper all on its own
Hours of jetting to clear OMG. although the volume of wipes etc suggests that it's likely to happen again. Good job! Clogging an 8"pipe is no mean feat, perhaps the hospital should install a screen before the sewage provider sees this video 😁
Where do you get the water from? Do you tap into a hose faucet or bring your own container of water? It seems like this jetting uses alot of water and wondering where you get it from on a jobsite like this
How do you guys initially fish the hose into the pipe wo going down in the manhole? I have yet to see anyone goin down and stickin the hose in there. Also, how come the jet doesent blow the hose back out?
The jetting machine that's being used is completely inadequate for the type of work it's being used for, that's why it tuck 2hours to clear this choke, a truck mounted jetvac is what's needed for this task, would have cleared problem in ten minutes, what they are using is fine for a domestic choke, not for this type of work, I've been at this work for thirty years, working for Dublin City Council.

Another awesome video, always amazes me when hospitals put down there drains, good work
Never have I ever seen that many wipes! Couldn’t believe how long it took for the jetter to burrow through it 👍
I opened this video thinking that it was drain addicts, but I still watched anyway.
Nice work, what a clog
What jetter is that it looks like a newer harben model. What's your max pressure? How big is that tank?
Corn Ratty! “Thenk Yeww!
Surprise! You were actually in the wrong pipe the whole time and the neighbor's bathroom is now an indoor water feature.
Ahhhh i see the rooter scooter and Mr. Winky. I work at mr rooter/aireserv hvac in indiana. I feel your pain haha
I was so waiting for him to knock his flashlight over the side.
You know Ratty is sending his luck and power when you see his beloved corn 🌽 🐀
Where do you get the water from? Do you tap into a hose faucet or bring your own container of water? It seems like this jetting uses alot of water and wondering where you get it from on a jobsite like this
What a job indeed👍🏼👍🏼
How do you guys initially fish the hose into the pipe wo going down in the manhole? I have yet to see anyone goin down and stickin the hose in there. Also, how come the jet doesent blow the hose back out?
8:21 I was asking myself "when will it come" and then it happened
how the hell the maker of ' wet wipes ' won their court case(s) re: blocked sewers is beyond me...
Simple: they are "flushable" in that it will go down the toilet, but what happens after that isn't their problem/responsibility.
Hi! Maybe you have a video on this but I was wondering how you clean all your equipment? Thank you and stay safe!🤙
I have never made a video on it! But we have a commercial cleaning product that sanitizes/deodorizes! Typically just with rags and spraying down with a pressure washer 👍
Drain Pros oh okay I gotcha thanks!
You must have a savage immune system! When was the last time you had a cold?
Looks like everyone expected you, and only you, to run back and forth.
I had SO much anxiety, that that flashlight falls in ..
And the WIPES always the WIPES.
11:25 - tampons, applicators, gloves, wipes, etc. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR !!
I do this for a living too. We also take care of hotels and a prison. Syringes, shanks, wire, whole damned bed sheets, shirts, food wrappers, etc. I hate people lol.
@@isaac2152 Years after building our house we found out that some angry workers left a gift. There was a crowbar in the drain directly under the house xD
The combo of industrial manufacturers misleading the consumer with the flushable nonsense and consumer neglect and disregard is astounding.
for the sidewalk overflow; just get a garden foamer, throw some kinda bio degradable detergant or something in it (dawn works, so does dawn and alcohol, vinegar be creative) and hose down the sidewalk/ whatever with that. dunno just givin ideas
correct me But those are regular like... cotton wet wipes, correct? not the disintigratable/flushable or even macerator friendly type? or
Hey man be safe, always turn that beacon on the trailer on when working in the street, install one on the truck too!
The wire got nicked a few months ago and it stopped working.. going in for new wiring next week 👍
I cringed so hard when you grabbed a handful of that crap and picked up your flashlight with the same hand lol @1:03
So far so good my boy
Could've snaked the line from the clean out get the line open and just jet from the same clean out lol
What jet head nozzle did you use?
Good job
How many jetters do you have?
He have two tow behind diesel trailer jetters and a few smaller hand cart jetters electric/gas that run at a lower psi and volume of water 👍
Best yet....congratulations👍👍
Thanks Kempinger! Wasn’t exactly how I was envisioning my Sunday night but was well worth it when the drain finally popped open for us! 👍
