    Very nice and informative video
    For all those who saying sponsored in the comment, well guys, they have clearly shown the broken Ola in the intro as well as comparison with ather. Pretty sure if it was sponsored, they would have mentioned it in the description as always.

      This video target normies people who don't care what's happening inside the motor and how well responsive feedback ICE machines provide.
      Him just selecting an old outdated Activa proves it straight, why not go for TVS Ntorq, Yamaha Aerox, Hero Xoom or even Suzuki Burgman.
      I will prefer using a better fun to ride, reliable and engaging machine which is proven to perform longer. You can't ride any EV right now full time on Hyper/Sport mode without having any range anxiety as they aren't refined enough to perform longer before throttling down eventually. ICE sport scooters can do anything while still being practical, I myself still love riding my 5yrs old BS4 Ntorq 125.

    What most people don't factor in is the resale value of the vehicle.
    Yes, EVs have lower running costs. But in all scenarios, petrol scooters have a higher resale value which eventually brings down the total cost of ownership over the lifecycle.
    I have still not seen anybody talking about this or buying a used EV scooter.
    Really hoping somebody will solve this question by sharing their experience

    • @pinakinayak5278
      @pinakinayak5278 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +36

      The reason for EV not penetrated the Used vehicle market is the time duration, ev have become main stream mostly after covid (less than 3 years) and not enough market saturation is reached for spare parts yet that people buy them for spare either. When battery recycling becomes are huge market due to EVs and environmental reason, the resale value of the Ev will only rise. You can take an example from US market with tesla, currently even a 5 yr old tesla resale value is higher than then purchased value due to battery, recycling and chip they contain. moreover Ev will get continued software support which make them more stable and add new features which might increase the resale value.

    • @parikshithkrishnan3001
      @parikshithkrishnan3001 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Even new teslas are going 20-30% below MSRP. Let alone second hand. you are talking about the post covid chip shortage era. Now the used market prices are plummeting like crazy.
      And about software update..hardware can only support for a certain amount of years same like mobile. After that the company will stop giving updates just like our mobile phones. Just consider the ev as a big mobile phone. Ola will stop giving updates to gen1 scooter in coming years obviously same as motorola stops giving updates after some years
      Newer ev technologies will be released in upcoming years. So the old ones will be left behind. So you have to upgrade to the newer model to enjoy more updates.
      Imagine buying a 2016 Tesla model 3☠️

    • @pinakinayak5278
      @pinakinayak5278 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@parikshithkrishnan3001 The reason that current tesla are selling lower than before is part chip shortage and part goverment rebates, My EV scooter costed 1.1 lac on road with rebate of fame 2 and no state subsidy but if i include state subsidy of let say delhi it would cost me around 90K on road which is almost same as a petrol scooter. Since then the fame subsidy is reduced and very soon it will be gone so does state rebates , I renewed my insurance and the new IDV max for my vehicle was 1.4 lac in just 1 and 1/2 yr. The same goes for earlier tesla where in california they had heavy state rebates which one doesnt add when calculating the resale value, if one adds that most tesla are second going for the same price as new one. Poeple may not buy a 2016 tesla because its 8 yrs old but most are still getting 2020 or 2021 model still. Moroever with poluution norms getting stricter anyway any vehicle older than 10-15 yrs will become inoperable in most countries.
      Secondly when the market was new with a lot of gov help they could put better hardware and charge less from customer , with now lesser subsidy they are cutting in hardware too both ola , ather have done that with inferior electronics. with upgrades which are still laughable at best. (Ola replacing a 720p screen with 480p screen and ather going from 1 gb ram to 2 gb ram in 6 yrs). Newer technology will definetly come but most car manufacturer are making theoir current Ev with hardware which should support 5-8 yr into their future.
      even phones which sees a rapid upgrade cycle of at max 2-3 yrs, has now has started giving updates for 5 yrs and in some cases like pixel 7 yrs software updates.
      The progress in tech is slowing down with each year getting marginal updates that even big company like apple make major upgrade only after 3 product cycles at best.

    • @debarghyachattopadhyay2614
      @debarghyachattopadhyay2614 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      The solution is there but in a different form , if you ride 50km in a day by 3 to 3.5 years you save enough money on petrol to buy a battery or a new ev . Assuming the price of petrol stays the same . So when somebody goes for resale of ICE scooter they get a good value that is used to buy a new vehicle in most cases. In ev you save that money by not buying petrol

    • @sahastradhara
      @sahastradhara 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Petrol scooters have higher resale value because there are too many of them, with adoption of EVs within 5 to 6 years their resale value will also improve.

      I'm unsure if the people who claim that EVs have issues like battery replacement and infrastructure have even tried to explore EVs, just a little. If they did, they'd know they come with a replacement warranty and infrastructure is getting better by the day. Especially in big cities, while smaller cities might take a little longer for the charging infrastructure to expand. You honestly won't need it for the day to day. Cuz daily charging needs are easily met using the charger at home.
      In states like Maharashtra, you've got a pretty good network of chargers that you can even travel outside city limits to other cities and places.

      Mene dekha hai, people even go 150+KM on a Petrol scooty and with a lot of load.

    - Very bad Service
    - Battery replacement cost is high. Even if it offers warranty since the service centre are sloths it doesn't help.
    - really struggle in uphill climb
    - Takes charging time instead of seconds filling in petrol ones
    - Even though it saves money in short term due to low charging money, in long term its nearly same as petrol scooters
    - new and unfamiliar, cant go repair to any shops like in petrol ones.
    - Weak body frame

    Its important to state the terms and conditions of the 8years warranty on battery by OLA.
    Its basically for 80k kms or 8 years.
    So depending on your commute, it is covered maybe for 8 years only if you ride 30 km a day, everyday for the year = 11kms per year.
    Not bad though, just stating.

    you didn't do a cost comparison overall including battery replacement of EVs which cost 50% of the scooter price and the Petrol Scooties with servicing costs and replacement costs over the same period. How much does an user spend, what is the actual saving they get in EV even after battery replacement....that is the main deal for an ordinary customer. Otherwise an one time 70-80k replacement cost even after 5 yrs of usage hits hard to a middle class consumer. Also EVs have cons like rainy season time or flood time they can get damaged. They are not meant for intercity travel etc. Often OLA scooters are catching up fire which is a big safety issue. Cover all the neagtive aspects of Evs also instead of promoting just good sides

    I've spent a lot of time watching dozens of videos and reading countless comments about the comparison between Ola and TVS iQube electric scooters. From what I've gathered, Ola users seem to be facing a lot of issues with their scooters, ranging from poor service to quality concerns. On the other hand, TVS iQube owners appear to be very happy and satisfied, with no significant problems reported.
    As an interior designer, I need a reliable scooter for visiting my projects within the city. I was initially drawn to Ola because of its energetic appeal and modern design. However, after seeing all the negative reviews and the frequent issues reported by users, I've reconsidered my choice.
    I believe it's better to go with TVS iQube. It may not have the same flashy appeal as Ola, but its reliability and the positive feedback from current owners make it a more sensible choice for my needs. After all, having a dependable scooter is crucial for my work and peace of mind.
