I think Nissan did a great job with the new Kicks 👏👏 I’m not a Nissan fan but I will say that the styling and interior appeals to me a lot ~~ and yes people saying that it only has 141 HP, but it’s actually a good increase from 122 HP. And people in this segment don’t care about that. They just want fuel efficiency, comfortable, and just a good city car. And that CVT, it is responsive. Hope that this updated Xtronic CVT isn’t as nightmare-y as the previous ones. And I’m glad the engine is naturally aspirated so it won’t be as annoying for maintenance.

The fact that this is a naturally aspirated dohc engine instead of turbocharged makes this one of the better vehicles for people who just want something cheap and reliable.
I know there’s lower trims but $31,000 isn’t exactly “cheap” even today’s market. It’s a joyless car but a mid-tier trim Versa can be had for around 20k

Nissan told dealers at the end of August to sell the vehicles at a loss. Nissan also announced they’re slowing down production of the Rogue & Frontier to help shrinkage. If $31k is too much for you, I’d say now is the time to get a good deal on a Nissan.
@marvinmurakami8828 When you are accustomed to having power seats, you can't go back to the basics. And the fact the higher SR trim is priced around $30k with no power seats is kinda a slap in the face, in my opinion.
That’s not true my Sentra sr has 19s and I got the SR with the“midnight package” and the tri color aspen white with gloss back roof and everything else blacked out and my car rides extremely smooth with nice weighted steering and a sport tuned , suspension . now my maxima rides hard asf and it’s an SR trim as well both of my cars are 2023 brought brand new
As long as this guy doesn’t act all high and mighty with the interior plastics and cheapness as well as the “missing” term for options not equipped on the car, then I’ll welcome him.

This car looks like a carbon copy of a Kia Seltos in the back. Not a bad car and actually looks nice, but I wouldn’t get the SR. S or SV is the way to go for me.
@@mrileyga Yeah I'm deciding between this and the new Buick Envista too - The wife likes both but I think I'm leaning towards the Buick just because it kinda looks more expensive than it is to me, especially in person - Going to test drive both soon.
@@Stressless2023 The test drive will be the ultimate deciding factor. I've watched a ton a TH-cam videos on both. I must admit though, a first generation redesign has me a bit nervous. I'm more of the wait and see type, at least the Buick has a track record already.

Hey this looks great. But I still can't get a small american adult in the back seat without their knees up to their chest at the cost of class leading cargo space of 30 cubes. 3 more inches or so of back seat knee room and it becomes a usable suv. As is it's a 2 seater

It's a Kicks, power is always lacking. People don't buy these cars for power. Cheap, easy to park and budget conscious. You can't look at this car from an enthusiasts perspective. This for the working mom and first jobers making $3500 a month Ask me how i know

Those are actually a segment up from this and compete with the Rogue. The new Kicks is positioned to compete with the Soul, Kona and Trax. Sofyan was out reviewing another vehicle at the same time for an upcoming video.
@MartyMotoring Actually, the vehicles I've mentioned are in the subcompact class. Their compact SUVs are VW Tiguan, Chevy Equinox, Buick Envison, and Jeep Cherokee. Which compete with the likes of Rav4 and CR-V.

And I've grown accustomed to all the nuances and nit picking that Sofyan does. Because he is quite raw in how he speaks about the quality of the dash, door panels, infotainment system, etc. He makes it seem like I am going to be an long time buyer of an vehicle as you know this is the second most expensivest things most people will buy in their lives, number one being an house. So it would make sense to be very critical of all the nuances of the car from the ride quality, cabin noise, acceleration/fun factor, etc. - I did not realize you were a long time team member for the Redline company, that is why I apologize again, and hope you can go more in depth into things like that so that you may be a presenter that can supplement Sofyan at times like this when he is at other even. -From, a long time Redline Reviews viewer.

I've driven the juke and without even driving this kicks, I would choose the kicks one hundred times over the only good thing about the juke was that it was quick-ish. The juke's interior was terrible. I mean, I guess it had slight personality, but that's about it like this is so much better in the back seat. Forget about it. Why is there even a back seat in the trunk room like you could barely put anything in there. The Sr trim should have the v. C Turbo engine, though it would get better gas mileage and be quick
Not as camera friendly or charismatic as Soy. I'm not expecting mr beast level energy and presentation of product, but this guy was so boring that i just kept skipping thru the video.
As mentioned in the intro of the video, I was just filling in while Sofyan was film other reviews in other states. I am not Sofyan's husand - Sofyan's husand is Keith. Rob is part of the team as well, and also not married. I have a wife and just a part of the Redline team.
Not hideous, but not beautiful either. Front end looks like a VW and the rear looks very similar to the Kia K4. Wheels are EV-style cringe. For that money I would get a CX-30 or CX-5 and get a far superior handling vehicle with more power, reliability (NO CVT), and residual value. The depreciation on a Nissan is horrible.
Yes the CVT in this car would automatically take it off my shopping list if looking in the subcompact segment, especially given Nissan's poor reputation for reliability - The Mazda CX-30 would be the top choice in my opinion also if looking to keep long term - If leasing or only keeping until the warranty is over then I'd choose the equally "decent" looking new Buick Envista/Chevy Trax over this just for the better power/performance.
I have looked my Kicks up, and I have not found it to have depreciated much at all, but it is reliable; everything works beautifully, so I don't want to trade it in. Plus, I get 40-48 MPG on the expressway from the CVT you hate, and 38 around town.
@@marvinmurakami8828 Yes I've read that Nissan changed suppliers for their CVT's but I still haven't seen any solid data that modern Nissan's will be reliable long term, so based on their dismal track record I wouldn't trust buying one - I would put the Kicks in the same category as the Chevy Trax/Buick Envista as "lease only" until further notice lol. Frankly for similar money I think the Buick Envista looks the best so if someone is only considering a lease then that's the one I'd choose personally.
Well Hyundai..... now it looks like Nissan is going to look exactly like the lineup of vehicles you offer. Hyundai started that display for the infotainment & Digital info center, and by 2027 EVERY VEHICLE from EVERY BRAND will now kook just like a Hyundai/ Kia..... pitiful. Not only that Nissan is copying exterior design cues as well.

Except given the HP gains this new generation got a curb weight bump of around 500 lbs. so it's a wash.

This just trades the reliability of a non-turbocharged engine for the notoriously unreliable CVT transmission Nissans are known for.

I love the new redesign. Not sure why there is no power adjustable seat on the higher trim. Also $30k is a little high, might consider the SV trim.
And no power tailgate is a miss for Nissan. SV trim with the premium package is the way to go, in my opinion.
Unless you have multiple drivers, how often does one adjust the seats?

Interesting vehicle. Tip - you don't have to hold the sunroof buttons. They are one touch. Push and release.

With the exact same horsepower, apparently the new Kicks is replacing the Nissan Rogue Sport.

still way inferior to my 2015 juke with 1.6 turbo , it is significantly quicker than this (yes the juke looks hideous )
