    Ordered the arc today, being delivered tomorrow as an upgrade from my old playbar. I already have 2x play 1s and z sub ready to connect to it.

      Evening Paul, what’s your review of the system a few months down the line?
      I also have the playbar/sub/ 2x play one set up currently and thinking of the arc.

    Just wanted to mention that after you have your speakers all hooked up to your TV you still have to go to your settings and make sure you’re getting Dolby Atmos and not stereo!

    I'm really impressed that after a year you didn't add rear channels and sub.
    I bought beam 2 first brand new for great price , according to Peter per Sonos main TH-cam guy it's only like 10% less of the performer comparing to arc . I waited a week to buy two one sl's, and another two weeks to get a sub. I'm blown away now with the quality when watching movies and playing music in Atmos (not all music is mixed great in Atmos to be honest)
    Really enjoy the sound now. I turn off the rears and sub sometimes to see how it sounded in the beginning, would never go back :D

      Appreciate you sharing such a detailed comment! I think I'll probably break down and get the sub and a couple of one SLs once the kid is a bit bigger. Thanks again and my best to you!

      I have the full setup arc + sub + 2 ones and in other room a beam. I must confess I was so hyped about the arc that I picked one as soon as it were available and i noticed almost immediately that it didn’t lived up to my expectations, and I even think that the beam is a better standalone that the arc. Adding a sub and 2 ones to the arc is a must.

    A advantage with connecting the Arc with a network ethernet cable is it will set up a separate Sonos wi-fi network. I've noticed some slowdown with my wif-fi network/browsing/refresh speed when I added the Arc/dual subs/Five surrounds to my already existing two Beams, two subs, and 4 surrounds. Hard wired the Arc into the router and all the slow downs when away. I "think" the separate Sonos network would be set up with any Sonos soundbar, speaker, or sub when connected by a hardware ethernet connection.

    Got the arc and sub last year and just added 2 One SLs. Totally blown away. First thought of adding another sub and 2 Fives, but that would have been an overkill. Maybe if Sonos comes up with upward firing speakers, I'll probably replace the 2 One SLs and place them elsewhere.

    • @adriani4501
      @adriani4501 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@beni654 Overall happy with it.
      To add a few points:
      The ARC on its own is not worth it. You either get it with the sub or the surrounds, all though I'd recommend with the sub first (2nd or 3rd generation doesn't matter).
      If you have the nerves, patience and room to set up a traditional system, then I'd go for that cause at that price-point it beats the ARC. But if you like me, who doesn't like wires and the hassle, then go for the ARC.
      The ARC looks very elegant, build-quality is great and sound is really good. I got it in white cause it blends in perfectly.
      One thing that kind of annoys me, since they did a new update, I feel lik it has gotten a little quieter or maybe it's my ears, Idk.
      I got it with a 30% discount that I bought off someone for cheap. If you can get that, then it's definitely worth it, but then I'd get the whole system since 30% off makes a huge difference on that hefty pricetag.

      Hello I have Sonia arc and sub gen 3
      I have some questions;
      You think I need to add second sub or Sonos or Sonos five ?
      Second question;
      When I use Sonos arc oled lg tv with earc ;
      With Apple app movie I can get Dolby Atmos but I can’t get Dolby music with Apple Music app from lg oled tv .
      And
      When I listen music with arc from Apple Music app some music when I listen 100% volume it’s volume down ( cutting ) for 1 second not every song but some .
      I don’t know why .
      With ps5 never do that ?

    If I don't have a turntable and don't listen to FM/AM radio, is there any reason to have a receiver/amplifier, now that I have a Sonos (Arc, Sub, One) system?

    What advantage does the Arc have over the Arc SL? Can they both be controlled by Alexa?

    • @mrgold3591
      @mrgold3591 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Costco Arc SL doesn't have the voice control feature for Alexa is the reason for the cheaper price.

    Can you stream music from iphone to arc and other selected sonos speakers you have in home via air play2? Maybe this should replace my receiver (air play compatible) and old but good stereo speakers in the living room? Not sure I need a receiver anymore.

      Yes, I stream music from my iPhone to my arc via WIFI..it is seamless and sounds great.
      I believe it is also airplay compatible. Double check to see about the airplay & arc.

    Will it work if you don't have an iPhone? Can you tune it without an iPhone?

    • @_stevenfoster
      @_stevenfoster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Sonos app works on Android 12 from my experience. From this Sonos article is sounds like the Android version doesn't support true play tuning but if you know of anyone who has an iOS device or an iPad that will work too.

      @@_stevenfoster from all the videos I watched...you cannot use Android with sonos true play, that's why I wanted to know can it be tuned with just the app.otherwise it's a waste of money to purchase it.

    I’ll be honest. I’m here because I have the arc and am very disappointed with it. I have to turn down my 2 Sonos Ones in the room or else they overpower the arc. If I put two ones from other rooms in place of the arc it’s a noticeable difference. For the price I feel like returning the arc and getting 2 more ones to replace it.

    • @_stevenfoster
      @_stevenfoster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate your honesty. And thank you for sharing. Curious if you're ARC is connected over Optical or HDMI eARC? I know there's some fine print on optical not supporting certain data formats causing loss in quality. Additionally, were you able to configure TruePlay tuning, and if so did that make a difference?

      I also have the arc and the one's. The one's are better with music and the arc for tv/movies. I put music level to plus 4 for music and minus 4 for tv level, it's really down to your own preference. Great music with the one's and excellent movies with the arc, both complementing each other in the right way. I've also got the expensive sub which once you've got it you'll never look back. Hope this helps
